Why I’m lining up for FPL Gameweek 3 without any Chelsea players

A Fantasy Premier League veteran of 11 years, Darren Wiles has an incredible track record with three top 1k finishes in the last four seasons.

With so many favourable match-ups in Gameweek 3, I am feeling confident about the next round of Fantasy Premier League.

It has been a positive start thus far, anyway, with 80 and 90-point hauls in the first two Gameweeks taking me to a total of 170 and an overall rank of 29k.

The goals have been flying in so far and I have been lucky enough to capitalise on the early glut of double-digit returns. But all of that is in the past, and it’s what happens this weekend that matters now.

Here is what my team looks like for Gameweek 3 and the reasons behind some key decisions.

      Not a fan of Bamford. He's generally a poor finisher and Leeds' underlying stats suggest they won't keep their current returns up anyway (unless they start creating a lot more).

            To have success with Mahrez, you're probably better off with a Werner downgrade, so that you can have 0.5 more on the bench, to cover the Mahrez rotation.
            (mahrez 33 games for 175, you want 2 point per game from his sub fill in)
            Hey presto, a 200 point position for $8.5mil.

    I'm buying into the idea that Spurs undef Mourinho aren't very dangerous unless teams like Southampton play a high line - is this nonsense?

      I have a VERY similar wc team currently, and have the same thoughts re:spurs. Newcastle won't be so naive, and will sit deep, where son has been frustrated last season. I would only say.. j.rodrigruez? Super value at 7.5m, season keeper for me. But the jesus injury has thrown a spanner, I want Foden now.. and podence is good value, so I'm a bit stuck. Podence or dcl will go for me..

      Do Ferguson > Lamptey and Zaha > Foden and you have the template WC.

      It's good I guess. I used it as my starting point and then made it a little more imbalanced towards the teams/fixtures I'm betting on.

        I have specific reasons for imbalancing it for B.

        Mainly that I want double Wolves defense to steal a march on all the Saiss only owners and that I want to bet on Havertz after his hat-trick/his superb playing history.

        The safer, more logical route is A.
