A Fantasy Premier League veteran of 11 years, Darren Wiles has an incredible track record with three top 1k finishes in the last four seasons.

With so many favourable match-ups in Gameweek 3, I am feeling confident about the next round of Fantasy Premier League.

It has been a positive start thus far, anyway, with 80 and 90-point hauls in the first two Gameweeks taking me to a total of 170 and an overall rank of 29k.

The goals have been flying in so far and I have been lucky enough to capitalise on the early glut of double-digit returns. But all of that is in the past, and it’s what happens this weekend that matters now.

Here is what my team looks like for Gameweek 3 and the reasons behind some key decisions.

Just short of getting either TAA or Robbo in, so would it be better getting VVD to cover or just ignore Liverpool defence all together?

Depends what you'd do with the extra money, a Liverpool defender is never a bad option.

      6 years, 29 days ago

Keep Trent, this guy goes crazy when you sell.

Last season points per game average by weeks:
        1-17, 4.4 ppg,
        19-29, 7.7 ppg
        39-47 4.9 ppg

Not really making a point apart from the fact that if he goes on another great run he can be transferred in.

    3. Puntillimon
      6 years, 29 days ago

if you're not already in, that extra 2m could do you good elsewhere if your def is well spread out

Why Anguissa over Burke? Is it due to him being more nailed on for longer

    1. JT11fc
      6 years, 29 days ago

      I believe thats why

    2. Netley Lucas
      6 years, 29 days ago

Yep. But the way SHU score goals, or don't, Burke will get time.

    3. Gabbiadini

I'd be going Burke over Anguissa

Currently am also. Just haven't seen him in many posted teams around here. The guys playing OOP as a striker so I mean I'll take that for 4.5 even if it's only for a few weeks!

  7. JT11fc

    Which for the wc?

    1. Mahrez Ings
    or
    2. Sterling Adams

    1. Jo Melon

Mahrez is not nailed so 2

    2. Cok3y5murf
      6 years, 29 days ago

I've had a similar dilemma myself for hours.

Mahrez + Adams or Foden + Ings

For yours, I'd go with 2

    3. Netley Lucas

Both have a problem that you can fix, 2.

No KDB is fair enough, but a worry. No City attack seems ridiculous.

      1. Ange Ball
        6 years, 29 days ago

well if we all had same teams no point trying to get 10k finish I was just short last season

        1. Rainer
          6 years, 29 days ago

Yeah your team of course, but no City seems a bit drastic imo, they are going to be top scorers.

Stick to your guns though, plenty of potential points & good cover.

          1. Ange Ball
            6 years, 29 days ago

I don't see city scoring big I see Leicester giving them a game. Only other player could get in would be Mahrez for Havertz. I have really good feeling about him this GW

            1. Rainer

Totally agree. Lamps has said he is going to be careful with him. I don’t care how many weeks it is just make sure he is right so we can all get on.

Don't really get the Son bandwagon in these circles. Spurs haven't really looked that good bar moments (i'd say more due to Saints than anything). Playing against Newcastle (no space in behind, likely out wide to keep the width for Alli or AM/Kane unless Reguilon prompts a change of role). Then it's followed up by playing against Wan-Bissaka. Then it's West Ham home (always dicey given since West Ham seem to always win against Spurs) and Burnley away.

Jorginho also up so the guy scored 4 goals is no question

He's a world class player at 9M that's cutting in like he loves to do, not hard to see why people like him.

I agree with the fixture analysis though, so he's not in my team.

Don't get me wrong man I love him, been a transfer in each season (in the last two seasons, I've done Salah->Son atleast 3 different times). I just don't think Mourinho's the same as Poch tho, he's only allowed that freedom (the kind Salah has for example) in certain games now :/

Even in Saints game, it took until half-time for Spurs to figure out this is the channel to attack, whereas in Poch you'd have thought Son would've been in far more often in the first half.

Under Mou, I really like him when Kane's not playing though.

Yeah, the fact that Jimenez and Werner are at that same price point puts me off him. Have a feeling a lot of people will be disappointed when Bruce rocks up with the 5-4-1 on the weekend.

4 goals against a rubbish high pressing Soton defence changes nothing for me, avoiding Son

Agree, I think I'll leave him out of my WC as he frees up a lot of funds.

The counterargument is that he is streaky and could be about to post double digits for 5 weeks running. He's done it before and it's painful as a non owner

I'd agree on the streakyness, him and Kane share that....

I've personally had him for the hauls so I liked it, but the fixtures put me off when you got the potential KdB-Sterling-Foden on WC.

Yes totally, I'm also looking at sterling, KDB, Foden. Looks like a good way for me to make up ground with limited risk

I mean I'm personally not 100% set on Son but I think you might be overanalyzing their fixtures a little too much.

Potential top 4 team who have two likely bottom 6 teams in the next three and just scored 5.

Seems very biased to me. Yes Newcastle defends deep but they actually have a high line if/when they concede. They’ve struggled against many of the top teams last season.

Spurs already faced West Ham twice under Mourinho and won both games so no, West Ham doesn’t always win against Spurs, far from it.

Last game (the 3-1 win) season was the first time in 6 games that Spurs have scored 3 goals against Newcastle. Here's the results before that: 0-1 (loss). 1-0. 1-2. 1-0. 0-2.

I'll admit wrong on the West Ham one and that's prob a good fixture the more I think about it (esp if Rice leaves), though again it is dicey. It's a London derby, they lost 2-0 away last season, but won 1-0 away the season before. West Ham do have a habit of turning up on these games, they beat Chelsea twice last season when Chelsea were in great form, and they were terrible.
