FPL team reveals: Scoutcast regular Seb is poised to pick a prudent plan

The first thing to address with this ‘team reveal’ is that I would not necessarily call it that. This is more of a ‘draft reveal’.

My approach this pre-season has been to draft a number of teams, each based around different strategies, such as big at the back, heavy in midfield or a three £10m+ player team. From these, I will select my final team to start the season. Whilst some tinkering will naturally occur, and even be necessary in the case of late team news, I will generally avoid this in favour of switching between entire drafts rather than individual players.

The idea here is to remove those last-minute, ill-formed, impulsive player swaps that more often than not make our teams worse than they do better. I know I can be prone to second-guessing myself come the deadline, so I’m going to attempt to remove that to some degree by allowing myself to select only from some pre-formed, well-reasoned and rationally researched teams.

In this way, if I do suddenly fancy a player from a certain price bracket or wonder what happens with an extra premium, I’ve got the broad answer already thought-out and primed for implementation, complete with all the considerations that come with that, rather than needing to rejig an entire team with minutes to go until the big kick-off.

This does of course mean there may be some players that I have intentionally or unintentionally rejected out of hand, due to them being neither in, nor attainable in, any of my drafts, but I am okay with that. We all do that to some degree, whether we realise it or not. No one considers all 500+ players at once when thinking about their line-up. We shorten this list to something more manageable in our heads and pick from there, be that because they are players we are familiar with, players we have seen mentioned elsewhere or because they have already appeared in one of our many drafts over the summer.

With that being said, in this article I’d like to share the team I think I am most likely to go with on Friday night: the ‘BruNO draft’.

Bored of the RMTs? There's a new Community Article to have a read of, and it's a cracker

    https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2021/08/13/what-are-the-best-metrics-for-picking-an-fpl-captain-2020-2021-update/

Make Arrows Green Again returns to look at what metric is best when selecting a captain? Should we be looking at the captain poll? A team's attacking stats or a player's stats? The opponents defensive stats? Lots to read and get your head around, I think it's certainly worth keeping in mind throughout this season.

Haha way to admit how shocking the comment section is. Maybe FFS could implement some changes there 😛

On the other hand, fair play promoting MAGA's work... 😀

        Agreed, its a mess.

And even when you reply to someone, you barely ever get a response back.

No discussions, just rmt, rmt, rmt.

Richarlison seems a little bit overlooked? He is even 0.5 cheaper than Ings.

DCL's availability is also interesting however Everton feel a bit in disarray right now. They do have great fixtures though...tempting to swap Ings...

Hes literally been playing football non stop, copa America finals and Olympics finals.

Is he going to be thrown straight in? Or given a rest?

I like him if he's going to start.

With a template this strong, I imagine the difference between 1K and 100K will be 5-6 points after GW1. The real FPL will start from GW7 when the majority of the players will use their WC.
Other than that, you can't go wrong with that team. Good luck!

Because arsenal won't defend but now Brentford have less to worry about as auba and Laca are 2 of the better and more senior experienced attackers arsenal have

What do you mean by arsenal wont defend?

Senior yes but not better judging on recent performances, they will still have to worry about pepe and saka who have been better than auba/laca, their omission doesn't really affect Arsenal defensively, its about the defence/mid

This may be crazy but try to hear me out with an open mind:

Looking to start without TAA with a downgrade to Digne that allows me to get Jota in for Raphina and capitalize on a attacking double up with the Pool opening fixtures. Tsmikas will allow me cover Liverpool CS potential in the short term.

It boils down to TAA attacking potential over Tsmi funding an upgrade of Raphina to Jota and White to Digne.

    Current draft:
    Sanchez-Steele
    Shaw-Digne-Tsmi-Ayling
    Salah-Bruno-Mahrez-Benrahma-Jota
    Ings-Antonio
    Bench: Steele-Ayling-Amartey-Perica

The “plan” would be downgrade Jota to Raphina and already have 1m in the bank so would be close to a Tsmi to TAA. The £1m in the bank would also facilitate a Mahrez to Son move in GW3 with more info.

    Thanks in advance.
    Best of luck to all.

Thanks Triffic, I don’t need validation but your kind opinion. one of these downgrades are required for this move:

        Bruno to Son
        TAA to Digne
        Ings to Toney

        Thanks

Yeah it is, I really wanted Jota in the beginning and it’s difficult to fit TAA/Bruno/Ings.

I wanted to go w/o Bruno but that has decimated me in the last 1.5 years and no big hitter is guaranteed of starting other than Mane/Salam. So Tsmikas would be my placeholder for TAA or Uber differential Robbo when he’s back. Also CS are so hard to gauge in the beginning so a double up on Pool seems defensive and not aggressive POV for FPL.
