Ode had the highest points per match and xgi of the Ars attackers last season, and is likely to play full matches

Marti likely to be taken off early every game, 30 - 50% less mins than Ode with additional injury time rule

Maybe something nonconsequential however, how many minutes added of actual play are we thinking with the new rules around time wasting and time keeping? if the average last season was 55minutes and the Qatar world cup match average was about 60minutes.

I imagine it stands to reason that we'll see a similar increase in goals if that's the case?

    1. g40steve
      • 7 Years
      2 years, 7 months ago

Could easily be 50 - 55 mins each half.

Good reason to have decent bench can see plenty of injuries?

      1. Sigga43
        • 3 Years
        2 years, 7 months ago

That's one side of it for sure! Great thinking, I was more looking at league results, for example championship matchday 1 last season, 10 clean sheets (16 goals)

matchday one this season, 2 clean sheets (37 goals)

I was thinking there's no point going for clean sheet teams and you're better off just picking defenders with threat, spend more on front 8 and particularly on players with good fitness/nailed on starts, potentially penalties. Though you raise another point, bench coverage may be more important than ever.

Interesting, with Man City I can see even more rotation this year (I still have 3*) they just signed another very talented Central defender, perhaps making stones more a mid? regardless competition for their true defender spots is going to be immense. Akanji, Dias, Laporte, Gvardiol, Stones, Ake and there's Walker/Cancelo who can fill in that kind of "Half" back role or centre back at a pinch.

(for reference I have Stones, Foden, Haaland. )

I'd rather not have a bench because you know your starters are more likely than not going to get minutes.

    Why Saka over Ødegaard?

The later had more points last season with fewer minutes. Saka was also on pens last year.

I think it's mainly because of the penalties.
I'm starting to consider Ode over Saka tbh as he su** at taking pens, which means he could lose them. Or he keeps them and getting -points for missing them

Probably my starting draft for GW1, good to go?

    Pickford
    Estu, Chilwell, Gabriel
    Rashford, Saka, Odegaard, Maddison
    Haaland, Jackson, Watkins

    Turner, Henry, Kabore, Nakamba

    Also, Odegaard or Bruno?

Like the Jackson pick, do you see him doing better than J Pedro who’s heavily backed on here?

Bruno you already have two Ars mids.

I'd go Bruno, He had the 2nd most expected score involvements last season, has the armband and penalties. Can see him having a huge season. Odegaard I like more as a real life player, but for FPL the guys who care less about tracking, covering off and filling in for their teammates are more favorable if they can keep getting starts and I think Odegaard's team first mentality hurts his scoring potential whereas Bruno seems to only want final touches (assists/goals).

That's almost identical to my team other than goalkeeper (Onana) , Arsenal defender (Saliba) and the bench options. Like you I've been chewing over the Odegaard vs. Bruno decision as well and I'm currently on Odegaard. His early fixtures are too good to pass up.

    Good evening all!!

Team is below, there’s 2.0 In the kitty to move either J-P to Darwin/Gakpo or Mitoma to Diaz or Jota in gameweek 2 for the Bournemouth match, would choose which looked the best option closer to GW2 deadline….

    Pickford
    Shaw Estupinan Saliba
Rashford Bruno Saka Martinelli Mitoma(could be Eze)
    Haaland J-Ped
    Subs- Turner chilwell 4.5 4.0

    Decent looking strategy to start???

    Thoughts appreciated!!

    Cheers everyone!!

Every time I try to fit Salah in , I get the same results. Which is That it leaves me pretty inflexible.

    Pickford Turner*
    Gabriel Chilly Baldock Kabore Estu
    Rashford Bruno Saka Martinelli Eze
    Haaland Joao Watkins

Do you think a Salah team would total the one above ?

Way to get him in is Martinelli to Havertz, Watkins to Osula and Bruno to Salah.
I love having Salah but that is confusing

    1st draft - how's this?

I so badly want a Kane team?

Might go Salah to Kane GW 3, hopefully we would have news by then, if Bayern have given up or not.

Or just start Template, as Forest/Wolves do seem in the mud at the moment (as well as Sheff Utd selling players)?

    A. Johnstone/Turner
    Estu, Chilwell, Gabriel (4.0, Gusto)
    Saka Rashford, Bruno, Martinelli, Eze
Haaland Watkins 4.5 1ITB (could do Pedro)

    B. Johnstone/Turner
    Estu, Chilwell, Gabriel (4.0, Gusto)
    Saka Rashford, Salah, Mbeumo, Eze
    Haaland Pedro 4.5

    C. Johnstone/Turner
    Estu, Chilwell, Gabriel (4.0, Gusto)
    Saka Rashford, Mitoma, Mbeumo, Eze
    Haaland Kane 4.5

    Decisions, Decisions lol

Think I'm gonna go with the James plus Gusto combo vs Chilwell and Baldock/Beyer. Risk free punt on James(considering the 4.0 backup) seems too good to pass up. What's this about James on penalties though? Seem people on here mention this but ive no idea if it's true

Stone - Estu - Gabriel (James - Kabore)
    Bruno - Rashford - Saka - Mbeumo - Eze
    Haalnad - Watkins (Archer)

Nice team! Needn't make any changes!
In regard to the Foden question I personally rather Eze over Mbeumo; with that being said I have neither of those 6.5m and do have Foden. It's a matter of preference, I do think both of your 6.5's play more minutes than Foden.

I am just starting 3 defenders (non Man City because of their cup game between GW1 and 2) and getting rid of Estu GW2 or 3 and hopefully, Gvardiol will be ready by then.

James + Gusto you are covered too. Then you can get Foden (and maybe Start with Pedro as a back up)

Botmans price will fall as well i think

Anyone with any experience of this?

This offer is open till 9am tomorrow.

Is this right? Does 1 day purchase give you 12 months of mobile premier league games?

    Or am i being dim?

        I think it's legit.

Unless I've wrapped my head around it somehow?

I've stopped drinking for now so I've saved a few quid anyhow.

It looks legit. I’ve just read the terms and conditions and googled it to see what other people have said. There is an article about it here https://www.cordbusters.co.uk/now-sky-sports-mobile-pass-returns/

What you got to lose, you get all the opening games & if it continues laughing.

Personally I have to watch Sky Sp in UHD on my large Oled & have BT sport now TNT via my EE mobile contract but that don’t allow streaming or casting 🙁

Does my Sports Day Membership start right away?
No – it’ll begin whenever you start watching and automatically end 24 hours later. It can’t be paused. Until you start watching, your Sports Day Membership will be available for a year

I've just done it and it's come through on the receipt for 6 months, not the 12 months in the Now link.

It's activated separately within 10 day's. Hopefully in the next 48 hours.

    Any Brighton fans about?

Thoughts on Pedro? Think I'm starting with him. With a view to switching when the fixtures turn - hopefully an (Chelsea?) alternative will have shown themselves.

Could just go Watkins, with a poverty bench

I'm on Pedro as my punt.

Along with Eze I've got good feelings about him, thanks for the advice above!

Check out this guy's views on Pedro and Brighton players.

Cheers. I think I'm going with Pedro. Sounds like he could be on pens as well
