Interesting info on set pieces between GW1-3

    - Alvarez taking most of City's set pieces
    - TAA sharing corners with Szobo

Jackson at 87%, Gusto at 81.3% and Sterling at 82.5% to go up on https://www.fplstatistics.co.uk/

So we should get to see the Chelsea game tomorrow before they go up in price again

Chelsea's squad is so big & the League Cup is mainly for squad players, I doubt anyone who played at the weekend will be playing in it.

Not sure that is the case anymore. Look at this bench (its mostly kids):
Bergstrom, Beach, Humphreys, Cucurella, Maatsen, Ugochukwu, Moreira, Madueke, Burstow

Alvarez was pretty poor on set pieces I would say though
They had 12 corners but can't really remember much coming from them

I think Pep wants to groom him into the next KDB. He is on corners as well. At 6.5m playing just off Haaland, what you got to lose?

Groom Alvarez into the new KDB? What are you even talking about? Those two players couldn’t be more different, so that sentence sounds super weird.

    Is this worth a -4?

    Rashford, Saka & J.Pedro > Sterling, Maddison & Isak?

Don’t really want to lose Saka, but need to move Joao Pedro on and hard to get Isak in otherwise

      Only rashford pedro—> Isak + madders/sterling
I think you’ll be a bit short of money though, would recommend some other striker instead of Isak, not worth selling saka for a hit.

Does Henderson become the no1 at Palace if so, when? Any Palace ITKs out there or comments from Hodgson on this topic I have missed? Cheers

    1. FOO FIGHTER
      • 6 Years

There is a Palace fan on this forum who posted about this. He was saying that he expects Johnstone to stay no 1 for now. Henderson to get a chance later in the season when he has fully recovered from injury.

I am happy to keep for the next 2 to 3 GW's. Not that it means much but have Turner to fall back on if Henderson is in straight away.

The prevailing view is he is.

There's a few Palace fans who post regularly on here.

My call is he's less likely to go straight in and gw5 after the international break would seem more likely.

Raya probably starts soon as well, maybe gw5 too?

Crunchie is a good source on Palace. I asked him about this a while ago & just tried to find the comment in my history but its buried too far back now...
Roughly, he was saying he thinks Johnstone could well continue starting if/when both are at the club, but the main issue is Johnstone has quite a modest release clause which may well be triggered by Forest / Wolves. I think I'm ok with starting Johnstone this week even if Hendo is confirmed, but keeping an eye on the potential merry-go-round as it may tip me into WC5 if Johnstone leaves

      1. Crunchie

yes, it is more likely Johnstone stay now. It really is dependent on Wolves. Sa has been offered a new contract yesterday, and still deciding to sign or go to Forest and SJ release clause would be activated by Wolves if they sell Nunes to City and Sa goes to Forest. Man Utd have signed their backup keeper now so Henderson's move could move over the weekend, and passed medical and agreed terms.

It would be a big merry-go-around, and Palace would still need a no two, as Guiata has down tools and probably off to Celta Vigo. Iversen was the target, but this is all unlikely.

Henderson has been out since December, so I cannot see him immediately getting the no.1 spot.

But as Johnstone has waited patiently last season, and did nothing wrong, and can play out from the back, it is to create competition.

Henderson will probably win eventually, and SJ would leave in January if that were the case.

The fact remains, that nobody knows for sure, but the most likelihood is that Johnstone would stay and compete.

Bit a mass merry-go-around mess, gone all quiet, which is not surprising with so many moving parts.

I am a Johnstone owner too, and I dont know what to do, or how fit Henderson is. He was injured again in August, making his transfer out in jeopardy at one point.

I’d hold. Foden was a good pick when you wildcarded last week and can’t see that anything has changed? (Yes he was ill, but can’t legislate for that). Personally would sell Salah and move to 5 in midfield over the next couple of weeks, but if you want to keep Salah just roll.

Now that the penalty taker situation is unclear at Arsenal, probably Ode for the bench

Given myself a proper benching headache fort his week.
At the moment I’m benching Watkins (away at Liverpool) and playing these 7 attackers:
    Haaland – Jackson
    Saka – Maddison – Mbuemo – Eze – Foden
Benched Eze last week, but Wolves at home is a great fixture for him.
    Who would you bench?

Very difficult to bench anyone, you probably have it right based on the fixtures

Liverpool defence looks shaky, no VVD and maybe no Konate. I'd bench Eze.

      A. I'm still not sure about Sterling (possibly to my detriment), he looked good but it was Luton.

Salah to Maddison is what I'd do.

Exact money for Gabriel and Mitoma to Trippier + Sterling for -4.

    A) Do it
    B) Get a cheaper def for Gabriel (Dias/Udogie) and Sterling later
