    Morning all,

    Would really appreciate some feedback on my team / proposed moves;

    Leno
    Estu Cash Udogie
    Mbuemo Saka Maddison Son(c) Rashford
    Haaland Alverez

    Areola Botman** Archer Bell

    2 FTs and 1.8 ITB.

Planning on doing Saka, Rashford and Estu > Salah Diaby & Digne for a -4

Would much rather just do the two midfield moves but 0.2 short unfortunately.

    Any suggestions are much appreciated!!

I think they are nice moves, but obviously carry risk.

Do you have wildcard still available for saka / estu in a few weeks?

The list according to FPL's determination of "value" (not sure of the exact calculations - points per million per game?) is interesting:
      1. Joachim Andersen
      2. Leno
      3. Areola
      4. Rob Sanchez
      =5th. Cash, Colwill
      =7th. Pedro Neto, Watkins
      =9th. Jensen, Bowen
      =11th. Alvarez, Gordon

Yes, you posted something similar in the previous article.

When it comes to attacking assets with £'s, importance to their team, form and just great players to own right now, Alvarez and Bowen just scream endless value.

    Areola

    Haaland Alvarez

    Mbeumo to Diaby in 10

That looks decent tbh. At least you know Morris will play.

Pity about the 4.4 mid but I would suggest go for Anderson Newcastle as he probably will get lots of minutes with all their injuries going forward.

You could always then downgrade Morris to Foster later and then try do Anderson to Neto or Gordon after GW8.

    A. Alvarez + Neto, or
    B. Maddison + Archer?

Maddison is tempting but not sure if it's worth Alvarez and Neto combined

    Rest of the team is

    Turner Areola
    Trippier Estupinan Cash Udogie Kabore
    Salah Son Mitoma (Neto/Maddison) (fodder)
    Haaland Watkins (Alvarez/Archer)

Bookmakers had Watkins at 180-200 points for the season. If Haaland points regress then it will be the right call and you'll fly up the ranks.

    A) mbeumo + Gvardiol - - Diaby + Cash (-4)

So many managers didn't WC because content creators told them it must be done in gws 8-10.
Other creators said do your transfers at the end of the gw and miss out on the price rises. This advice has backfired.

Now many people can't afford their gw8 WC team.

Content creators are hitting the WC button and making unwanted changes due to lacking 1-2m in team value.

Wonder if we will see many creators struggle to gain a good rank this season?

That why I wildcarded in GW6. Independant thought!

A huge reason I played the WC early was because I could forsee not being able to afford it in a few weeks time (we're talking about a million or more difference with the price changes thst have and will happen) - in addition to my underperforming team of course. Hell I even played the WC even though I had 2 FT.

Absolutely saw some creators (seemingly) really pushing the players they owned and urging caution on the players they did not, as a way to protect their own team value (partly, at least it felt like it).

Even Zoph trying to influence it today.
      https://twitter.com/ZopharFPL/status/1709418794102513712

Not grouping Lateriser in with the this sort of action btw - but have seen a few intaces of it with the FPL Wire lot this season. Not just them though.

At the end of the day, it's people's choice to just follow what creators do and say so you can't just blame them if it doesn't play out how you'd like.

Having said all that the fear about ranks right now is absolutely silly. Ranks are still tight & a team that's spent 1mil less could still outscore more expensive ones.

Not everything is because of content creators. They didn't make up the fixture swings, they do exist and many engaged managers wanted to wait for them and/or had fine teams.

I can already see a divide in the new template going forward 😆

It will either be Trippier with a dodgy defence, 4.4 mid and heavy up top

    Or

Rotating cheapish defence without Trippier, 5th mid the enabler 1st bench and heavy up top.

    Views on below WC team??

    Turner (Areola)
    Cash Porro Burn (Gabriel) (Taylor)
    Son Salah Diaby Bowen Maddison
    Haaland Alvarez (Archer)

I am mainly confused about which of the below combination I should go for
    A) Porro and Maddison
    B) Saka and Van de ven

I really want to go with Saka and I am not a huge Maddison fan but with Saka's injury and his fixtures, I might go with A). Am I making the right decision?

    1. FOO FIGHTER
      • 6 Years

When mids like Diaby and JWP and Gordon, Mitoma and Neto are pretty much matching Maddison points wise, I don't fancy him either and is why I don't want to double up yet on Son and Maddison.

My mind could change unless Maddison is matching Saka...

    2. FOO FIGHTER
      • 6 Years

And I also don't want to get rid of Saka but sick the fact that he is going to be flagged each week.

So with City coming up, possibility he may start, possibility he may not, I will jump off to relieve myself of frustration having him flagged all the time and have a route back to him after things have settled with him.

That's fair but you have two rotation risks on your bench along with a defender from a side with one of the worst xGC stats in the league. If you need your bench in any given gameweek you could well be seeing 0pts coming in, a 1 might be lucky

It all depends on who you replace. If the hit includes taking out a dead asset and you start all three new players which you bring in the the -12 can be covered.

I took a -20 twice last season & it worked well on both occasions. If you gotta hit, make sure you hit well so yes! Hits aren’t bad in fact my bio says it all. Nice team but I would rather have a 5th midfielder over Højlund. Manchester united are rubbish but he is a nice punt if you trust him & manchester united

It can be, but have a careful think about whether you could delay one or more of the moves and still get the benefit - does it all have to happen this week?

On the article above - my rank has not fluctuated much -

    Just a gradual decline -

    gw3 - 111,423
    gw4 - 134,566
    gw5 - 158,113
    gw6 - 170,082
    gw7 - 232,302

10 points off top 100k gw7 when all is said and done.
    --
However in my case I went a different route to many early wildcard gw2 and went a 3-4-3 structure.
    --
I think Simon March makes the assumption that everyone is doing the same thing.
The simple answer is not to follow the crowd as much, but for some odd reason the FPL twitter culture have odd cultural 'rules'. That seems to be the main problem for me.
'Never captain a defender', 'Never make a transfer for a keeper' etc.

In the last two examples if you think a defender has good chance of getting a clean sheet and attacking return. Instead go for it!
If selling an overpriced Keeper underperforming and there is a cheaper keeper with better form/fixtures. Instead go for it!

The quickest answer is go elsewhere for captaincy - the FPL twitter culture do not seem to treat Haaland as just another FPL option. They seem to wedded to him. Waiting for a twitter leader to tell them what to do and make the first move of Haaland out.

Arteta on Saka injury: "He tried to backheel a ball in the first half and he felt something. It's something muscular".

"He wasn’t able to carry on. We don’t know more, but it was big enough for us to remove him"...

I had Son already and Saka returned but this Saka saga is getting absolutely ridiculous.

This whole thing will backfire on Arteta though, it already did last night as he needs Saka half dead and playing or mind games.

I will have a route back to Saka...

Would you feel comfortable going into the next GW with a back 3 of Estupinan-Schar-Udogie and an injured Botman on the bench?

Don't have a Villa attacker so tempted by Cash but probably not worth a -4

    Hey all,

Boring question alert! Who do we think is the best 4.5k defender from palace (can't afford Andersen)

    - Mitchell
    -Guehi

    Thanks!

Probably Mitchell due to better on bps

Is he? His Baseline BPS is lower? Mitchell's overall total is higher because Guehi missed a match. Either way it's close so far.

Haha just posted after seeing your initial response and had to double check my answer. Looking at the wrong player (Andersen) when comparing.

Scratch that, looking at the wrong player when comparing. Agree with Hazz, Guehi out of the two and Zouma/Coufal should be considered but may put you off if you have Areola.

I don't think there's much in it but would probably lean Guehi out of the two.

Guehi has a slightly better baseline bonus. Does have the odd set piece attempt. Better for passing BPS etc. A first name on the team sheet. Only think is he picka up the odd yellow.

Mitchell can get the odd assist but he's got 2 per season the last few. Does get yellows too.

Would you consider a West Ham defender instead? Depends on your rotation, but nice fixtures and better for assists (e.g. Cofual, 3 in last 3) or set piece attempts (via JWP set pieces).

    Johnstone
    Trippier, Cash, Porro
    Son, Maddison, Bruno, Diaby
    Haaland, Alvarez, Watkins

    Turner, Gabriel, Taylor, fodder

GW10: Bruno (I know, I know, but [BRE, shu] then -> Saka
