Aston Villa right back (4m), much better than Cash. A gamble for sure but at 4m for a potential starting right back, worth taking I feel. Especially as I have 0.5m in the bank to upgrade to a 4.5 defender if not working out.

He is only 18, I am personally not convinced by Emery's comments in the article below, many mentions of him being young and needing time.

    Henderson (turner)

Saliba, Gvardiol, Mykolenko (barco, faes) - bit of a weak back line I know...

Personally think that Rashford and Amad will start, with Sancho up top, but could very easily be Rashford striker with Garnacho off the left with him being back in training. Community Shield game on Saturday though, so should clear things up.

Draft #3 below. Am I placing too much faith in Forest attack?

    Flekken // Vald
Gvardiol Porro Burn // Barco THB
Salah Gordon Nkunku MGW // Winks
    Haaland Isak Wood

0.5 ITB to move Isak to Watkins in GW3

      1 year, 4 months ago

I was like you going CHO wood. But it was pointed out by
number of people that CHO gets hooked early.

Safer with MGW (set pieces main man etc). So you have the minutes pick there.

I also chose Wood initially, As he has a high XG etc nice fixtures. Good value.

But the impression I got from reading comments about Forest -was that don't expect too many goals from them.

So instead switch to Muinz and benched him.

Your draft looks OK, has a structure to it. Personally I would have Johnston instead of Nkunku for the first two fixtures at least.

        • 11 Years

Thanks buddy! I am on the fence between Wood and Muniz as well. Since I have MGW, maybe it's a wiser decision to go with Muniz and not put too many eggs in the Forest basket.

Let me take another look at Johnson during the pre-season!

I don't see many going all in on Spurs. I have Son, Johnston plus Porro. I think Johnston is one of the few mistakes fpl made this year. He should be .5 more IMO,
I will rotate Johnston and Porro out for gw3 and gw4 have two fulham on the bench for that.

    in terms of a 4.5...

Muric looks a decent gamble. Promoted keepers can often do well. Appreciate he loses the bonus, but it's not like he's losing the BPs to fellow keepers/defenders; they're just being syphoned forward

I really like the idea of a 4.5GK because I think I get more marginal impact from the money saved by putting it somewhere else. Personally I think I'd rather go with a keeper from a more established club (I like Areola), but there's definitely a rather popular school of thought that a 4.5/4.0 combo between the sticks is the way to go.

        1. jayzico

Not to me. If he's not the announced #1 at the beginning of the season, then it's easy enough to switch to any one of a number of 4.5s who are all more or less the same guy.

    4. Tea for the Tielemans
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 6 Years

I just don't see how he's appreciably different than the other promoted GKs. Don't know to what degree we can be specific about information in the member's area, but I haven't seen any good argument why his projected bonus points should be up there with Salah and Cole Palmer or 35% higher than the next best keeper. If you adjust that rather optimistic projection, he falls right back to the cluster.

To me he's just one of a gaggle of keepers at 4.5 who you could throw a blanket over and get around the same return. I just haven't heard anything compelling about Muric in particular that makes him any different than the other promoted keepers or an option like Areola.

If you know something I'm missing, I stand by ready to learn.

      1. Ser Davos
        • 10 Years

no I would largely agree with that. Just like his relative save potential and fixtures from 3 onwards. Ipswich a lot more unknown perhaps as well (to their advantage)

Thanks for weighing in. The Muric BPs projections actually inspired me to contact the powers that be at FFS because it really seemed like an unusually bold prediction. It definitely caught my eye, but I see 4,5 keepers as fungible assets until proven otherwise . . . they exist as enablers with gloves.

Who are your nonconditionals for starting the season

Based on what I’ve seen so far in preseason

    Haaland
    Son
    Porro

Based on last season and early fixtures

    Robinson
    Wood

Want a NC defender but hoping for Livra or guehi

    That’s it so far

Porro over Gvardiol if you could only pick 1?

Does the poor guy get any time off post Olympics? That's been the concern that's kept him out of my drafts so far.

Could work in his favour short term, would have had a break post season and will be well up to speed

Thought about it even created drafts. But I think it would mean WC gw2 after BB gw1, So it would be a brave move.

I did it last year, but the fixtures fell nice for the cheaper options,

I would more than likely have done it this year if Villa were at home.

I think if you go without Haaland it's possible to make a draft that rotates well for the first few weeks.
