    Advice please!

What do you suggest with this team

    Sels / Fab
    Robinson / Hall / Aina / de Ven /Johnson
    Jota / Gordon / Palmer / Saka / Rogers
    Haaland / Isak / Welbeck

    0.0itb
    1ft

Kind of want Salah, not achievable without a WC.

Think your overall attacking options is good enough to cover. Especially considering NFO is a stronger defense this year.
Might be an xMins issue with Jota tho

    Henderson 4.0m
    TAA Robinson Mykolenko Hall Faes
    Eze ESR Rogers Jota Saka
    Haaland Isak Solanke

    Have 2FTs

    A) Play Wildcard
    B) Saka & Solanke > Salah & J Pedro (have exact money so would need to do it now)
    C) Saka & Hall > Palmer &
    Lewis

    Henderson (Turner)
    TAA Mykolenko Burn (Konsa, Munoz)
    Saka Gordon Kamada Jota (Winks)
    Haaland Muniz Isak

    2 FT

Really contemplating to play the Wildcard as the Turner > Palace transfer is killing my options for transfers this week. I feel like Salah is a must have.

    My current plan is:

    Turner > Fabianski
    Munoz > Dunk
    Burn > Davis
    Jota > Mitoma
    Gordon > Rogers
    Saka > Palmer
    Kamada > Salah
    Isak > JP

    Should I pull the trigger?

find the .1, not cheaping out on GKs again since the Danny Ward debacle 2 seasons back. trust me that'll be the best 0.1 you will spend in terms of value for money/points in your whole squad

Who would be your pick of the 4.5 keepers? I guess it's between Areola, Verbruggen and Henderson, probably in that order?

        1. F4L
          • 9 Years
          15 days, 12 hours ago

          yeah about right

i do think Areola will be the one long-term, as out of all the 4.5 GKs I rate him the highest in terms individual ability. once todibo/kilman/wan-b/rodriguez can integrate and build connections , can't see how Areola fails to deliver, at least at that 3.4-3.7 ppg that would be on the upper end for 4.5 options.

Cheers all. I'm exact money on:

            Muric (Fabianski)
            TAA, Lewis, Robinson (Greaves, Mosquera)
            Salah, Palmer, Diaz, Semenyo (Rogers)
            Haaland, Pedro, Welbeck

No FTs used so I think it'll be 4FTs to bring in Arsenal/Brentford in GW6. Between save points and a lucky pen save maybe the 4.4's can match the 4.5's, which aren't particularly convincing to me anyways

    RMWCT?

    Henderson
    TAA, Konsa, Robinson
    Salah, Palmer, Eze, Rogers
    Haaland, J.Pedro, Wood

    (Fabianski, Semenyo, Greaves, Harwood-Bellis)

    1. AlleRed
      • 7 Years
      15 days, 13 hours ago

Very solid. I'm 50/50 on starting Semenyo or Rogers in GW4. Probably Semenyo over Wood (liv) for me. On WC, maybe sensible to get off Henderson, but no one really appeals at 4.5 so there isn't much in it. I'm on Mosquera instead of THB due to the early sub, but that may have just been because THB was on a yellow and having a tough match...

think they'll score almost the same, abit pointless switching between the 2, get 1 stick, or get both and ditch Salah if you think they can keep averaging around 5.5-5.7-ish ppg because that is worth ditching Salah for

looking at the WCs here now, i think they're turning their back too quickly on that 8-9mil price point. even just take Havertz, the underlying numbers he has put up since he went to striker are top notch, 9.5mil+ premium numbers and he's 8.1? i think still.

otherwise it looks decent. Obviously you still have FTs, but the WC sets up team structure and having 3 mids/attackers at cheap price points is a risk long-term as the options to pick from can dwindle quite quickly. i mean wont be long before theres a 7-9mil mid/striker hitting a purple patch of 6+ ppg over a stretch of 6-8 GWs and you have limited access to getting that asset. ok Eze but he's a more buy and hold as his returns are hard to predict with the pot shots he takes.

Would have Raya over Alisson as Raya gets more of his points from CS (ok Alisson got bonus this weekend but less likely to happen over course of season) and Liverpool's defence while now looks solid i just cant see Gravenberch/mac-allister holding up as a midfield pairing to go toe to toe for Arsenal cs

Ultimately if you're dead set on Haaland/Salah/Palmer (or Saka), then its good, with the limited funds to use elsewhere the team looks solid.

Been looking at the idea of no Salah for GW5 before WC6

How many points would I lose for no Salah and Son (C) v BRE (H)?

    GW4: Gabriel to Robbo
    GW5: Saka to Son (C)
    GW6: WC

    1FT 1.5ITB
    Henderson
    TAA Gabriel Robinson
    Saka Gordon Eze Rogers
    Haaland Isak Pedro
    (Paulsen ESR Konsa Johnson)

not sure about Son LW (C) against a Brentford 5 back parked bus but not too many.

if Robbo were to deliver 12-17 points and Gabriel only 2-4 then already seems worth going without Salah.

comes down to whether you think a Salah 14+ pointer is on the cards vs Bournemouth

think there's a chance City-Arsenal is different this year as well, Arsenal will come to play for the win to lay down a marker, Haaland should have some more joy, esp considering its at the Etihad

      1. Tonyawesome69
        • 5 Years
        15 days, 11 hours ago

The 2 Spurs v Brentford league games was 3-2 and 2-2 against Brentford 3/5 ATB setup. Son only played 1 od those games and wasn't great. Understand the slight concern with Son LW though.

Normally cater for worst case scenario when it comes to Salah and likely the best/optimal captaincy pick in GW5 so DD haul.

I still think it'll be cagey boring chess game between Arteta and Pep. Don't think Haaland does particularly well against Saliba/Gabriel in previous games.

Prefer rotating 8th attacker than playing 4ATB and relying on defenders from promoted teams

Same but it's juicy with the big boys

this is the issue with a haaland plus salah plus trent plus saka/palmer team

it leaves you so thread bare and would mean you are constantly playing catch up with transfers

i much prefer better balance with just Haaland and Salah then sell one down the line to get Palmer/Saka at a later date

Something you could start the season with and WC out of if needed. Not something you should WC in to imo.

greaves/faes, konsa, robinson, rogers, flekken, haaland
      vs
Robertson, Munoz, semenyo, Eze, raya, Havertz

like, come on the second lot pretty easily outscore the first no 😀

So unnecessary. Get Havertz and Robbo over Saka and Trent. You can get an Mbeumo over your silly 4m defender rotation plan.

My actual team from last week was WC a bit more balanced to this lot.

      Flekken / Vald
      Trent Konsa Robinson Greaves Faes
      Salah Palmer Jota ESR Rogers
      Haaland J. Pedro Muniz

A bit more balanced, but tempting to change and squeeze literally all the big boys in but it comes at too much risk at the minute, Mbuemo needs to come in soon for Jota and an Arsenal defender for someone too

Tempting to cram all the big guns in, as I'm not so sold on many cs at the start of the season. They're usually hard to come by as teams get into it

I need to replace Bailey and am considering
    A) Bailey to Mitoma (i have 0.5 in the bank)
    B) Bailey to Minteh
    C) Bailey to Mitoma and Gvardiol to Robertson
    D) Bailey to Minteh and Gvardiol to Trent

Which of these should I di?

Depending on future transfers and chip plans, consider Gvardiol to Robbo

WC or not? Used my FT on Armstrong(dont ask) to Pedro.

    Henderson Fabianski
    TAA Porro Robinson Hall Barco
    Saka Mbuemo Rogers Jota Murphy
    Håland Isak Pedro

1.8 Itb so need 0.8 to do Saka to Salah.

Murphy, Hall, Barco could all go, maybe downgrade Jota to get Salah… could be worth it, but my worry with all these Salah-Haaland teams is how inflexible they are in midfield when it comes to Saka, Palmer, Foden, etc. Going without Salah or Haaland locks you out of one player; going with both essentially locks you out of a whole price bracket if you still want a decent squad that doesn’t start Rogers, Smith-Rowe etc every week.

Thinking about staying away from Salah, maybe bring in Robertson/Diaz next GW and pray.

Yes. Or downgrade Mbuemo to Minteh -4 and Saka to Salah next GW?
