THE STARTING SEVEN

GOALKEEPER
Picking Owen Goodman (G) largely comes down to wanting two bits of the strong Wimbledon defence, who are practically playing at home in the final.
DEFENDERS
I think this double-up is crucial. They can keep a clean sheet against Walsall and, even if they don’t, Joe Lewis (D) offers other routes to points. For example, the previous match saw him produce a huge 14 clearances and seven tackles.
Elsewhere, I have finally accepted that Lloyd Jones (D) seems to offer more than his teammate Macauley Gillesphey (D). Even so, Charlton go into their final after back-to-back clean sheets against Wycombe, so I think owning both could be a wise decision.
MIDFIELDERS
I’m slightly nervous about not owning Sheffield United’s defensive assets, but the lack of viable options is frustrating. Luckily, they have two good midfield options to pick from. While Sunderland are a good side, when it comes to defence, they struggle quite often.
Prior to their play-off games, the Black Cats lost five successive matches and haven’t kept a clean sheet since early April. To target them, I’ll have the Blades’ talisman Gustavo Hamer (M) and penalty-taker Harrison Burrows (M). Although playing at left-back, Burrows scored once and assisted twice during the last two matches.
FORWARD
My gut is telling me to pick Mathew Stevens (F) this week. The Wimbledon striker is massively off the boil, but he’s been their best attacking option of this campaign, making a difference when his side need him.
But my heart is telling me to pick fellow Welshman Kieffer Moore (F), who netted in his previous outing. I like the thought of owning a differential somewhere – having triple Sheffield United could be mad, but also the right answer.
FANTASY EFL PLAY-OFFS FINAL TEAM REVEAL: CLUB SELECTIONS
I was slightly tempted to go a bit rogue here, but I’ve settled on Sheffield United, Charlton and Wimbledon. Not only the favourites, in my opinion, I also think these are the three most likely to score and keep a clean sheet.
There is a world in which I pick Walsall or Leyton Orient just in case, but I’m not entirely sure.
