LIVERPOOL: REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL

TITLE FAVOURITES

FPL notes: Bradley injury latest, Liverpool win title + Evanilson banned

Liverpool were runaway champions in the 2024/25 season and, quite clearly, the best team.

They ended up finishing 10 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal, even though their performances slowed down a bit as the season went on.

They also topped various attacking metrics, including goals, shots, big chances and expected goals (xG).

No surprise, then, that Arne Slot’s side are the early favourites to retain their crown in 2025/26.

DREAM SUMMER WINDOW

FPL pre-season: Does a Bradley knock make Frimpong likely to start?

Liverpool have splashed the cash this summer, and they probably aren’t done yet!

Buying players from a position of strength, they’ve signed Florian Wirtz (£8.5m), Hugo Ekitike (£8.5m), Milos Kerkez (£6.0m) and Jeremie Frimpong (£6.0m).

The Reds are set to make a second bid for Alexander Isak (£10.5m), too, after their initial £110m offer was rejected.

It’s a scary prospect, particularly given their 2024/25 dominance.

LIVERPOOL: REASONS TO BE FEARFUL

NO TRENT / LACK OF DEFENSIVE COVER

Everton v Liverpool team news: Alexander-Arnold on the bench

There aren’t many potential issues for Liverpool this season; however, the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid leaves a creative void that has to be filled.

The roaming right-back served up 43 FPL assists across his final five seasons at Anfield.

It will also be crucial to monitor how Liverpool manage with traditional full-backs on both sides of the pitch, as it could impact their ability to keep clean sheets.

The centre-back role requires additional depth as well, following the sale of Jarrell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen, especially with Joe Gomez (£5.0m) currently injured.

M y team is looking more boring but more solid.

    Sanchez Dubravka
    Virgil RAN Diouf Dorgu Rodon
    Salah Palmer Fernandes Anderson Sarr
    Watkins Bowen Guiu

It feels really dull but probably very good.

Solid picks and well balanced. Which Sarr is that?

The wrong one, the Spurs one. Palace Sarr 1.5 more expensive. Otherwise looks solid indeed.

Can I have some comments and ideas please?

Thought about picking and C haaland over salah?

That way, I could pick PMS over Guiu for gw1 BB and I can pick frimpong in salah’s place as 3rd player
The big risk is not owning salah for gw1 as it is obvious

The risk of going without Salah outweigh benefits of BB in this case.

Can a Bournemouth fan confirm their back four?

      Not a fan but its

      Araujo/Smith, Senesi, Zabarnyi, Truffert

Zabarnyi is getting sold, so someone will have to be signed. Not a good defense to invest in tbh, even GK is a new one.

        Is Araujo nailed?

Soler is also an option at LB, not sure who is first choice.

    Sels

Rogers Palmer Anderson (c) Salah Wirtz
    Watkins Evanilson
    Dubravka Guiu VDV Moreno

    0.5 ITB

      Monitor Rogers injury
      Moreno won't feature
Kerkez might miss the odd game to Robertson
      Very strong frontline

I know VDV is a great long term pick, but out of the 6m defenders does he score most in the first 6 game weeks?

I think Tarkowski, Milenkovich and Murillo will come close to his season tally for £0.5M less.

      That's impossible to know.

      There's ofte a surprise but there's only 6 of them at £6m.

Arguably the Chelsea and Man City fixtures are better than Liverpool's overall in the first 6.
