The deadline for Fantasy EFL Gameweek 4 is closing in, and we’re welcoming back our team of writers for the new campaign.

To assist in fine-tuning your squads, I’ve prepared my Gameweek 4 team reveal.

I had high hopes for the 1-2-3-1 formation on a weekly, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be. I’ve had to throw in the towel and go back to a more reliable setup. I have no doubt it will make a comeback at some point.

GAMEWEEK 4 TEAM REVEAL: THE STARTING SEVEN

GOALKEEPER

In goal, I expect Birmingham City to maintain their superior home record at produce their first shutout of the season. Ryan Allsop (G) has yet to return; I’m expecting that here.

DEFENDERS

It’s impossible to ignore MK Dons’ Jack Sanders (D), who’s averaged 12 points in four matches. A monster 68 clearances (+17) – the most in the league – and three shutouts, alongside a great fixture against Newport County (A), make the number 32 essential in my opinion. At present, he’s my safe captaincy pick.

Elsewhere, Coventry City’s Bobby Thomas (D) has averaged 9.5 points and is a standout at the back.

The centre-back was a hero for the Sky Blues last campaign, and has started this year in a similar style, providing two goal contributions (+12) last time out in their 5-3 win, and faces QPR (H), who they defeated 1-0 last season.

Completing my defence with Christoph Klarer (D), I’ve gone with a Birmingham double-up. Klarer offers a solid combination of defensive points and attacking threat, though I’m also considering a wing-back for their higher attacking upside, depending on the Blues’ lineup.

MIDFIELDERS

Isaac Price (M) has been outstanding for WBA, scoring three goals (+18) in two games under manager Ryan Mason. Given his recent success and with a strong home advantage against a Portsmouth team that has historically struggled to score on the road, I expect Price to be a key player in this match.

Idris El Mizouni (M), a differential [0.4%] for Leyton Orient, is an excellent choice for an interception magnet. He’s already earned 25 points in three games, with nine interceptions to his name.

Facing a Mansfield Town team that has won three consecutive games, El Mizouni should have plenty of opportunities to continue his impressive run this weekend against the Stags.

FORWARD

Since joining Bradford City, Stephen Humphrys (F) has been a phenomenal addition to the forward line.

The floating striker has recorded four goal contributions in four games, totalling 29 points. He’s a constant threat and the team’s primary attacking outlet.

The Bantams face Peterborough United, who are currently at the bottom of League One. The Posh has lost all four of their games this season, conceding seven goals in the process.

Given their defensive struggles, I anticipate that the number 11 will continue his strong run of form.

GAMEWEEK 4 TEAM REVEAL: CLUB PICKS

Referring to our Fixture Ticker, my club picks reflect my player picks.

It’s tempting to back the top club picks this week, like Birmingham City and Stockport County, but with so many Double Gameweeks coming up, it makes sense to wait. Holding off and using them later is a smart way to maximise the points from those assets, in my opinion.

I expect both West Bromwich Albion and Bradford City to win, making them my top picks for this round. Both teams are undefeated so far this season, and the Bantams have the added bonus of their strong away form, which will see additional points scored (+2) if they win on the road.
