There are just two Premier League fixtures taking place in the traditional 3pm BST kick-off slot today.

Coventry City take on Hull City in a battle of the top-flight new boys, and a fixture in which many cheap picks are being ‘boosted’ on Fantasy Premier League (FPL) benches.

In the other game, Bournemouth face Everton.

TEAM NEWS

Frank Lampard makes three changes to the Coventry side that lost 3-0 at Arsenal in the Premier League opener.

Jack Rudoni, Ephron Mason-Clark and new signing Taiwo Awoniyi all start for the Sky Blues.

Ellis Simms and Brandon Thomas-Asante drop to the bench, while Frank Onyeka misses out.

Also missing out is Hull midfielder (and £4.5m FPL pick) Matt Crooks.

Hidemasa Morita, one of the Tigers’ many summer signings, comes in for him.

Meanwhile, on the south coast, Bournemouth boss Marco Rose sticks with the same Cherries XI that ran Manchester City close last Sunday.

Everton head coach David Moyes makes just one change from the Gameweek 1 win over Crystal Palace.

James Garner comes in to replace Hayden Hackney, who is among the substitutes. Hackney was also an injury doubt coming into this fixture.

Despite plenty of speculation surrounding his future, Iliman Ndiaye starts for the Toffees.

Looks like we all wild carded last night then? My new team before the price rises:

Konsa - Ajer - De Cuyper
    Bruno - Palmer - Cherki - Tzolis - Foden
    Pedro - Haaland

Subs: Dubravka, Mendy, Ajayi, Walle Egeli

Actually, you have a much better bench/overall squad. I was tempted to leave Bruno out, but it's like the Haaland FOMO anxiety.

"lots of us" then! Non Haaland owners, especially. I thought I was being clever by having Isak, but let's be honest, not having Haaland is insane. What was I thinking?

Only you can tell us. But surely when you went without, you weren't expecting him to blank indefinitely? Wasn't the plan to make up the points with other players where funds have been spread?

Isak for example, is only 5 points behind this GW - so those with him not too far behind.

Yeah that was my rationale - it's why I went with Isak instead of Haaland. But it's the anxiety of not having Haaland I can't lie with. We all know he's going to pound in Coventry next week and score a hat trick + an assist.

Fair enough - so GW3 chip must have been part of your planning then, so all going to plan! 😀

Very brave of you. I caved. But I had Isak instead of Haaland. I thought that Isak might match Haaland this season. lol.

I don't believe I can jinx the result of a football match. I can't control what other people think. Of course it is theoretically possible Hull could score but from what I've just seen I would be very, very surprised if they do.

They play directly up the pitch. Lots of forward passes through the lines. No messing about.

Thomas has already 8 defcons. I would like to upgrade him, but only 4 million...

    1. I'll keep him for now

  7. Lookint at GW3. Have 5 players in the Arsenal-Chelsea game.
Is it worth FH? Probably not, right? I can bench the Chelsea lads.

    Trafford
    Calafiori Gvardiol DeCuyper Ajer
    Saka Cherki Tzolis Sangare
    Haaland Barry

    McNally Palmer Pedro Justin

    Or play Palmer over Calafiori?

The entire premise of No Haaland is that despite his hauls, you think he's not value long term compared to other picks. At least that was my rationale..

If you tear up your team to get him in because he had 1 haul and a good fixture it was a pointless strategy from the get go. He didn't even have that bad fixtures to start...

Thi is so true. Get him and live with the occasional 2 pts or stick with your rationale for not having. Switching after 2 games is a waste

Exactly. Man could've even scored against Bournemouth. Blowing a chip before week 3 to get Haaland is a bad strategy. People underestimate the caution the AFCON transfers gave us last season.
