It’ll have been an early start for Bournemouth fans as the Cherries make the 700-mile round trip to St James’ Park – the longest journey in the Premier League – for the 12.30pm BST kick-off.

But this is a fixture that the south-coast side has enjoyed in recent years.

Bournemouth are unbeaten, home and away, in their last eight Premier League meetings with Newcastle United.

They’ve scored nine goals in their last three trips to St James’ Park, too, including January’s FA Cup third-round tie on Tyneside.

Of course, much of that record came under the stewardships of Eddie Howe and Andoni Iraola – and both clubs have had managerial changes this summer.

TEAM NEWS

Newcastle’s new head coach, Matthias Jaissle, has unsurprisingly named an unchanged side after the victory over Tottenham Hotspur last week.

New signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo is named on the bench following his big-money deadline-day move.

Tino Livramento is also fit enough to take his place among the substitutes after months on the sidelines.

As for Bournemouth’s newly appointed boss, Marco Rose, he makes only one alteration from Gameweek 2.

Tyler Adams comes into the midfield to replace Lewis Cook.

LINE-UPS

Newcastle United XI: Hornicek, Dedic, Thiaw, Botman, Hall, Miley, Gonzalez, Elanga, Willock, Barnes, Wissa.

Subs: Pope, Livramento, Schar, Bamba, Steur, Toure, Fernandez-Pardo, Murphy, Ramsey.

Bournemouth XI: Petrovic, Smith, Hill, Silva, Truffert, Adams, Scott, Rayan, Kluivert, Tavernier, Evanilson.

Subs: Gregorio, Brooks, Gannon-Doak, Cook, Diakite, Soler, Christie, Jebbison, Juanlu Sanchez.

    Crying behind the keyboard.

These so called content creators are absolutely pathetic, especially this guy and that Big Man whatever.

They advice people with absolute certainty like whatever they're saying is 100% correct.

That's why I like people like LR or Zoph. They share their opinion and equally respect other ideas and are open to them. They even criticise their own ideas and failures, not like these people who can't be self critical at all.

"They advice" is the crux of the matter...happens everywhere, even on here and yet no one can be certain.
Ppl should own up to their decisions.

I don't understand the hate tbh.

They're just sharing their opinion and presenting easily digestable information. You don't have to follow them.

They're imperfect error-prone humans with egos and emotions like the rest of us. I don't think it deserves calling them "pathetic".

It ruins it and gives an unfair advantage to people in different time zones.

If they can’t be caught or stopped for some reason, then the deadline should be moved further back or forward

It's only a blackout in the UK. Premier Sports in Ireland have 1 live 3pm game a week. Other countries air live 3pm games. The 3pm blackout goes back to the 60's to prevent fans staying at home and protecting ticket sales.

Its very dumb though. People in England cant watch their own frikin league, meanwhile someone in Malaysia or wherever can? Plus its cheaper for them.

The UK has a population of like 60 something million, the amount of people who would or could go to a stadium is literally miniscule, and many fans don't even live remotely close to their clubs either. Some people very out of touch with reality came up with this rule and it should be overthrown.

      1. el polako
        • 9 Years
        1 hour, 1 min ago

And then when you want to go and see a game but you’re not a season ticket holder you need to go through hundreds of hoops without the guarantee you get the ticket anyway.

        1. Yea, and insane how much it all costs. I support Spurs, I don't live in London but I do live in the UK. For me to go and watch a home game, I would need a flight, hotel, transport, ticket, and food and drink. So what, a grand at minimum...

      2. SM001
        • 10 Years

It's not miniscule. Approx 800,000 fans attend matches across the professional leagues every weekend.

Agreed - as I'm not *that* engaged with Fantasy Football I use them for information about potential chip strategies... players I've not heard of that I might want to keep an eye out for, and information like Champions Leagues games being in the mix that I hadn't thought about.

But final decisions. Got to be yourself, and got to be happy with them. It's like when I see a message here saying "A) or B)" and ONE person responds with A) and there's a "Thanks!". Leaves me thinking... really? You're leaving your decision making to one random on this website? God, I hope people only treat my "wisdom" with a pinch of salt 🙂
