STAFF WRITER

  • Contract type: Part-Time
  • Reports to: Editor
  • Location: Work from home

Overview

Fantasy Football Scout’s Editorial team is looking for a Staff Writer to support the delivery of Editorial content and projects across a number of platforms and formats. The successful candidate will work within the Editorial team and will focus on writing Fantasy Football articles for FFScout, championing our weekly newsletters, assisting with various content creation, and assisting with planning and scheduling. This is a new role to help support the existing team and ensure ongoing Community engagement, as the Editorial team looks to find new ways to engage audiences and drive growth.

Who we are

Fantasy Football Scout is the home for Fantasy Football managers, with a thriving Community, award-winning Editorial, multiple audio and video offerings, and an industry-leading Members toolset. FFScout focuses chiefly on Fantasy Premier League but covers multiple leagues and games, bringing together fans and managers from across the world in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Our team works closely together with a high degree of flexibility for staff and encourages self-direction and the championing of projects. With multiple partners, content streams, and platforms, each FFScout employee plays a vital role in helping shape the direction of their team and the larger business. While we are based out of London, the majority of staff work from home across the United Kingdom, with periodic meetups and events.

The role

Editorial Support

  • Take responsibility for various weekly articles, as directed by the Editor
  • Understand audience needs and ensure Community engagement
  • Adhere to the house style guide, writing articles promptly and within word limits
  • Enter and edit content in WordPress
  • Provide useful content in weekly newsletters
  • Understand the needs of various stakeholders
  • Be an ambassador for FFScout
  • Work with different teams to assist inter-departmental work
  • Help the editor with new concepts to evolve Editorial offering
  • Maintain high Editorial standards across all work

Requirements for the role

  • Strong writer with proven ability to write to a deadline
  • Creative thinker who can identify Editorial opportunities
  • Strong analytical mind to understand data and convey data to audiences
  • Highly self-motivated and well-organized
  • Ability to work within a team while taking ownership over projects
  • Proven ability to interact with customers and partners respectfully
  • Strong communications skills
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information and exercise discretion
  • Fantasy Premier League knowledge
  • Awareness of the importance of SEO/trends and the ability to make content more discoverable

FULL-STACK DEVELOPER

  • Reports to: Tech Lead
  • Location: Work from home

Fantasy Football Scout’s Tech team is looking for a Full-Stack Developer to support the delivery of projects and tools, primarily for the Members Area but also across other platforms. The successful candidate will work within the Tech team and will need to be able to self-direct, be proactive, and take ownership over projects. This is a new role to help support the existing team and ensure ongoing technical excellence, as the Tech team looks to find new ways to engage audiences through tools and features and improve the existing offering.
