The ScoutCast – Episode 220 – Manic

Now that the international break is behind us and the fixture list is bulging, the pace to the end of the season promises to be relentless.

It’s even enough to force us into the indignity of a “manic” Monday night ScoutCast.

Having endured the most mediocre of Gameweeks, it’s a blessing in disguise that the next is already upon us. Despite that, we still take time to cast an eye back at the weekend, including a revival of “Rough with the Smooth”, recounting your own contrasting fortunes.

Elsewhere, your community questions have us conducting the now weekly stock check of Manchester United’s double Gameweek wannabes, while Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez’s mood swings also come under scrutiny again as we chew over the likely replacements for the stricken Sadio Mane.

Palace get some love, those teams without a double Gameweek get appraised, and we even take time to explore a new phenomenon: the raiding right-back and curious bonus point darling that is Jesus Navas.

Oh, and much as we tried to shut down Jonty’s attempts to gloat about the latest spectacular success of his goals imminent table, Wilfred Ndidi still gets a mention.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Monday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience, plates and all, via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Don't like Mustafi. get a Boro defender and upgrade Vert to Walker and and Bailly to Valencia.
Wait for the Mane news. If he isn't out for long, switch Origi to Carroll/Gabbi(if he is back next GW).

    How's this looking :-

    Foster
    Alonso / Valencia / Pieters
    Walcott / Firmino / Siggy / Alli
    Lukaku / Origi / Costa

    Heaton/Gibson/N'Diaye/Amat

GTG? Tempted with a Firmino (c) on this lot. No Sanchez n Vardy so looking for a differential.

    Any changes?

Still haven't swapped Coleman out because I am an awful human being and missed the past 2 deadlines.

Is Valencia the best option with an unlimited budget for a replacement? Other defenders are Baines, Brunt, Chamber, Amat

Just read that Poch reckons he'll play again this season.

Maybe Alderweireld or Vertonghen? They haven't got a goal or assist between them this season which is strange!

    A) Llorente to Barnes
Enables me to do Costa to Ibra and Brunt to Valencia later but two

    B) Llorente to Carroll

    C) Save and play Robertson

    Jaku
    Alonso, Davies, Brunt
    Sanchez(c), Alli, Firmino, Siggy
    Lukaku, Costa, Llorente*

    Grant
    Alonso Valencia Davies
    Sanchez Coutinho Siggy Alli
    Zlatan Lukaku Llorente.

    Pickford Pieters Capoue Amat

Here's the plan. Bring in 3 DGW players for the first dgw. With Ibra and Valencia already in my team I will have 5 dgw players.
Use my WC in GW36 then bench boost the monster DGW with hopefully 15 players. And try use my AOA in between then too.

    Sound good ?

    Bench one:

    A King (liv)
    B Siggy (TOT)
    C Tadic (CRY)
    D A Carroll (ars)
    E Lukaku (MUN)

Leaning towards Siggy as its a tough fixture, but really don't know?

Costa! Lukaku has good fixtures coming up, and always delivers agains those weaker teams
Or just get rid of Llorente

    Ibra lukaku carroll

    WC:
    Valdes pickford

    I think I'm set !

    Jaku
    Walker/Valencia/Robertson
    Sanchez(c)/Eriksen/Coutinho/Siggy
    Ibra/Kaku/Carroll

    Grant/Alonso/DeRoon/Holgate

    Fine ?
For the weekend I've been thinking Siggy to Sane ?

Yep, all good. Siggy to Sane at the weekend makes sense - I'm probably keeping Siggy a bit longer, but that might be a good idea actually if I don't sort out my defence yet again!

Hi guys, further canvass for opinion on Llorente replacement 🙂

    1) Big Andy Carroll, 6.3.
No DGW. Scored. Team not in form, though. Playing Arsenal - he's scored against us a fair bit. Means I can afford Vardy to Kun on the weekend.

    2) Tekkers, 7.0
DGW. Scored. Team in form. Playing Southampton after having scored on weekend. Means I can afford Vardy to Ibra but NOT Kun on the weekend unless I do some seriously jiggery pokery involving Stephens in for Alonso...

2 I guess is best, but I'd be worried by the weekend without Kun.

Had some good input to just go for Tekkers and see what happens, which I'm 60:40 toward... it's just the Kun factor which is scaring me a bit.

    Thanks all!

Already on a -4 and Defoe is a doubt:

    A) Play Cedric
    B) Play Barnes
    C) Play Defoe and hope
    D) -4 for a transfer to Origi
    E) -4 for a transfer to another

    My team is:

    De gea (jaku)
    Baines Walker Brunt (Stones smith)
    Ali Mane King Lanzini (Morrison)
    Vardy(c) Lukaku Aguero

    1) Mane to who? I have 0.9 in the bank

    2) Vardy captain?

    3) De gea or Jaku in goal?

  26. BobbyPies02
    • 8 Years

    Jaku

    Valencia Brunt Maguire

    Firm Alli (c) Hazard Alexis

    Lukaku Carroll Vardy

    Subs: Pickford, King, Barragan, Fernandez

    (a) Stick with Alli as captain or stick it on one of the other three mfs or Vardy? I am 69 points behind leader in my league and Ali, Firmino, Hazard and Carroll are differenitals for me against him.

    (b) Leave Lukaku or bench him for King? Lukaku is a flat track bully who rarely delivers against the big boys and his away form is dodgy. But King would be a very punty move admittedly.

    Thanks
