Dugout Discussion – Brighton vs Newcastle

Sunday’s solitary fixture gets underway at 4pm as promoted pair Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United square up at the Amex Stadium.

With many now filling their forward lines with premium frontman, we get the chance to run the rule over a trio of budget midfielders today.

The Seagulls’ Pascal Gross has played a part in all four of his side’s goals so far, serving up two goals and a pair of assists in his last two outings.

He was the second top transfer target for Gameweek 6, with over 381,000 transfers in.

For the Magpies, Matt Ritchie has bagged four assists in his previous three, while Christian Atsu’s goal and assist over his last two starts has also turned heads.

Indeed Ritchie and Atsu, along with team-mates Jamaal Lascelles and Chancel Mbemba have been subject to heavy investment over the last week, with a combined 783,000+ transfers in.

Newcastle number one Rob Elliot is the most owned player for Sunday’s clash, sitting in 23.7% of squads after conceding just once in his previous three. Yet he is the most benched player in the Gameweek, with over 808,000 naming him among their subs.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Aside from fantasy concerns, it's shaping up to be a good season at the moment. I can't look past Citeh for the title just because of the depth of quality they have but United and Chelsea are going to chase them all the way.

as a Chelsea fan we have City and Utd at home in the next few games. If we get 4 points out of that then I reckon we chase well, if not then I think it's a 2 horse race

Any non-Kane owners watch him play at the weekend and still feel OK about not having him in their team? I thought I'd be OK with Lukaku/Morata/Firmino but I feel he's to dangerous to not own - now looking at how I can get Lukaku/Morata/Kane as a front 3 as I'm only willing to drop Firmino (Sturridge rotation / him out wide is my concern). Not willing to consider Aguero because of rotation risk either.

I think it's time to some how get him in. I will not be able to do it this week.
Kane hit the post twice didn't he too? Home (wembeley)form is still a concern. If they crack that Kane's essentially.

Lukaku-Morata is fine, but not for Firmino. Or maybe you can consider swapping Lukaku to Kane due to United fixtures a bit hard.
Actually it's based on your mid, if you have Eriksen as Spurs back up, it's ok to go without Kane. And if you already have Mkhi, it's fine without Kaku (even though Mkhi score hardly, much different with Eriksen)

    Wildcard time.

    Elliot Foster
    Jones Creswell Mee Naughton Mbemba
    Silva Mkhi Hazard Grob Carroll
    Kane Aguero Chic

Apart from the hazard gamble, what you all think..?

      Gks: check
The D: nice cheap D. The only one I'm a little uncomfortable with is Cresswell but he does have the fixtures and stats to back him up.
Milfs: worrying choices here. Haz needs to show form first. Miki's stats are not all that great - he has very little goal threat/pen box touches and fear he may regress now with the fixtures against him.
Silva gets assists but has no goal threat which for me a primary motive behind selecting a milf.
I'd want to see Eriksen and Salad in there bare minimum.

Forwards: Not keen on Chico but I agree about two heavy hitters rather than all three. Prefer Morata to Kun who will be a rot threat going forward.

      Rating: 5/10

punishment for being a clown I think he gonna first commit himself to the team and show what he is capable to do in training in u21 games and of the pitch then the coach gonna give him a run around but that is only my opinion ...

Kane and Aguero Captaincy from GW8 - GW15

BOU, BUR, wba, CRY, lei, hud(WBA), SOT, WHU

I'm guessing there might be a couple of goals in amongst that?

        Lukaku and Morata rotation GW8 -> GW15

cry, WAT, bou, Che v Mun, NEW, BHA, SWA, NEW

I think Kane and Aguero's looks better.

Looks really enticing, but I don't think Aguero will start all of those games. Pep will rotate/rest him

Would rather pair Kane with Kaku/Morata if I am going with only 2 big strikers up-front

Kane / Morata rotation is pretty nice too. Would you captain Morata though? I wish i had on the weekend.

Its the impression that Morata gives to people hence people are less willing to give the armband to him.

just stick the armband on Kane and leave it there should be right 🙂

I did captain him this weekend 😀

I think with the Manchester teams and Kane taking the limelight (for their hits AND misses), people are really overlooking the consistent points that Morata and Chelsea are accruing.

It's not swashbuckling stuff (except last week), but Morata seems to be a 20+ goals striker, and the fact that he is leading their front line will always make him more preferable to Aguero for me

Too late to go for Jones?
Have Kola, Ota and Davies as key defenders.

recent article stating daniels is bournemouth's only realistic option, a josh king who has just set off on a scoring run surely can't be written off

I would assume King scoring one goal being equated to a scoring run is highly optimistic 🙂 - even by bandwagon standards

Daniels still seems like their only realistic option, until King scores in the next 2 GWs as well. Then it's all aboard the King train

Scored in the cup too. Actually think his reclassification has made him underrated, albeit Defoe is a disaster of a strike partner to have

Fair enough, missed that. So one more GW to go 🙂

I agree, he would be the ideal mid-range midfielder, but with the wealth of striking options this time around - it's tough to attempt to fit him in. I think he becomes a viable option when Sanchez/Haz also become crucial players this season

So what do I do with TAA now that he dropped to 4.4?
I was going to get a Burnley def in but now cant as Ive 0 ITB.

    Any advice 🙁

Well on the plus side there are plenty of useful 4.5s about so when you have the cash or at Wildcard time, boot TAA at that point.

No WC unfortunately. My best beds is that Mee eventually falls this week and I get him. Ive 2 FTs and only player I can replace to get the 0.1 is Tom Carroll. Annoyed I didn't make the early transfer to a Burnley def last night 🙁
