Things are getting tense as the last four Gameweeks of Fantasy Eliteserien approaches. In this article I’ll take a look at team form among those with something still to play for.
In Form Teams
Rosenborg
It’s hard to look past Rosenborg at the moment. They are cruising through Eliteserien right now and will wrap up the title if they beat Stabæk at home this weekend.
I’d say it’s almost a must to have three Rosenborg players right now, as they face Stabæk, Aalesund, Viking and Odd in their last four games.
Watch out for some rotation if they wrap up the league title this weekend though, although they would still have to keep their players match fit for their Europa League games.
Bendtner, Helland, Adegbenro, Hedenstad and Hansen all good picks.
Strømsgodset
Strømsgodset have been flying for quite a while now. Five straight victories puts them at fourth place, chasing Sarpsborg at third.
They finish off the season with Sogndal, Haugesund, Brann and Aalesund, so there’s no reason to avoid them.
Andersen and Jradi are the prime attacking options, while Glesnes and Vilsvik are doing well at the back. Pedersen could also be worth a punt up front.
Vålerenga
We knew they probably could do okay in the double Gameweek, but who expected them to score 15 goals over the last three fixtures?
Is the output sustainable? No, I doubt it. Let’s remember they faced the two worst team in the league, as well as a Haugesund team not in the same form as earlier in the season.
Worth keeping your Vålerenga players? Most likely. Worth buying any? Not so sure, for me there are more exciting prospects to pick up for the last few games.
Juklerød and Grindheim have been the standout players.
Tromsø
Tromsø have won two out of the last three and have four victories in their last eight. They have definitely become a better team after the new manager arrived and I’d back them to stay up on current form.
With home fixtures against Viking and Haugesund, as well as an away fixture against Sogndal they could be a good differential for the last few weeks.
Lehne Olsen and Åsen stands out as the prime candidates.
Molde
Molde have been racking up wins lately as well, but they have not been playing at their best. There haven’t been any standout performers either in Fantasy terms. Defenders have had two clean sheets in a row but Sigurdarson has disappointed.
Kristiansund
Another team fighting to stay up. They would been almost secure if Gjertsen didn’t mess up in injury time last week. Gjertsen and Stokke are still good options for the reminder of the season, same with McDermott.
Out of Form Teams
I’m not going to do a detailed list of teams, but Viking and Aalesund are easily the worst teams right now. They also look like the most likely to go down.
Brann have been really bad lately with four losses in a row, although they did look better against Rosenborg.
Haugesund, Lillestrøm and Sandefjord are teams that have gone cold the last few weeks, while Sarpsborg certainly don’t have the same form as earlier in the season. That being said, Diatta is still very hot.
