Spot the Differential – Lacazette and Sané ready to light up Gameweek 6

While the Fantasy Premier League community struggles to differentiate between three high-profile captain candidates, we’ve had a look underneath the radar.

Once again, we’ve picked out three players with below 5% ownership who could make a big difference to your Gameweek 6 score.

All of them have form and fixtures on their side, so why not consider them for your squad?

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m)

Ownership: 4.3%

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) looks like a fantastic differential for Gameweek 6. In fact, he is finally delivering on our prediction he would match Arsenal colleague Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m).

Despite starting just twice, and registering 276 minutes to Aubameyang’s 410, the Frenchman has more FPL points than any other Arsenal player.

In the last four Gameweeks, Lacazette has averaged 5.5 points per match, while Aubameyang is behind him having registered 4.25.

With his impressive performances of late, he is sure to retain his place in the Arsenal line-up for the visit of Everton. Crucially, he did not play a single minute as the Gunners beat Vorskla in the Europa on Thursday night, ensuring he will be fresh and ready for Sunday.

The Toffees are still without a clean sheet and have conceded 1.8 goals per game so far. Furthermore, Everton were demolished by a 5-1 scoreline the last time they travelled to the Emirates Stadium.

Olivier Giroud (£7.8m)

Ownership: 2.6%

Olivier Giroud will be licking his lips as the prospect of facing West Ham this weekend. The Frenchman has six goals and three assists in 11 appearances across all competitions against the Hammers.

Furthermore, he managed four goals and one assist in seven matches against Manchester City when they were under the leadership of Manuel Pellegrini.

Maurizio Sarri was highly complimentary of Giroud’s performance in against Cardiff, making specific reference to his ability to get the best out of Eden Hazard. No striker created more chances than Giroud in Gameweek 5, and he came away from the match with two assists. This bodes well for his future involvement.

Giroud already appears to have won the role of first-choice forward at Chelsea, taking it from team-mate Alvaro Morata (£9.0m). He has largely disappointed so far this season and played the bulk of last night’s Europa League tie in Greece. Giroud, meanwhile, featured in just the last nine minutes.

Leroy Sane (£9.2m)

Ownership: 4.0%

Despite a tricky start to the season, Leroy Sané (£9.2m) could be a powerful differential once again. There is every reason to believe he can replicate his goal-scoring performance against Fulham in a Gameweek 6 trip to Cardiff City.

His place in the side looks more assured than usual with Benjamin Mendy (£6.5m) now ruled out of the match. Sané’s long run of starts last season was largely caused by the lack of options on that left-flank.

The fact that he already has a goal and an assist from just one start and 120 minutes of football in 2018/19 tells us Sané is ready to explode FPL points once again.

In fact, no fit Manchester City player can top his minutes per shot on target or goal attempt inside the penalty box so far; not even Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) or Raheem Sterling (£11.0m).

No side has managed more shots in the penalty box than Man City in the last four Gameweeks, and a many expect a heavy win for the champions in south Wales.

Sané’s increased chance of start and impressive numbers so far suggest he can play a big part in that.

What would you do with 2FT here?
    (bought Mendy at 6.0)

    Patricio
    Alonso/Mendy*/Robertson
    Salah/Mane/Mkhi*/Walcott

I swapped him for Robbo earlier today.
Was thinking about Shaw, Davies, Trippier and Laporte as well. However Robertson was the most appealing to me.

My brother is a super casual and for some reason has hit the Free Hit button. *Face Palms*

Can anyone improve his current free hit team he has via the below please? Or perhaps suggest a new team altogether? I don't know why he has Maddison on the bench.

    Ederson (Speroni)
TAA, Pereira, Alonso, Wan Bis (Dunk)
Mane (C), Haz, Moura (Maddison, Stephens)
    Aguero, Firmino, Mitro

What would you say is the trade off price for a WC? I'm considering a -8 this week and a -4 next week - Should I just wildcard although I have missed price rises this week?

I mean if doing a WC I would make 11 changes, but I could also manage quit fine with either a -8 this week and a FT next or the proposed -8 then -4.

      Foster Fabianski

      Alonso Mendy PWA AWB Peltier

      Salah Mane Bilva Pedro Chalobah

      Arnie Aguero Ings

      A) Pedro + Arnie + Ings -> Fraser + Wilson + Mitro (-8), next week Bilva + Mane -> Hazard + Richarlison (-4)
      B) Pedro + Mendy + Ings -> Fraser + Bennet + Mitro (-8), next week Mane -> Haz
      C) WC

Need a bit of help what to do with Walcott and Pedro. I’ve had a strong front 8 for last few weeks and been rotating but with Wolves Fulham and Bournemouth having good fixtures coming up I prob won’t want to bench Jiménez Mitrovic or Fraser. So thinking it might be best to do A but what do you think? 1ft and 0.5 in the bank

    Salah hazard Fraser Pedro Walcott
    Aguero Mitrovic Jiménez

A Pedro and Walcott to dsilva and 4.5mid (-4 and leave 1m in the bank)
B Pedro/Walcott to Maddison for free (get Richarlison next week and rotate)

@mods any chance of a HT on Pedro replacements? Have seen lots of people asking about it, might be worth gathering questions and opinions in one place?

His spot looks somewhat uncertain given he played 90 minutes last night.
Mendy issue means people have less tolerance for uncertain starters in their teams.
Abundance of options in Fraser, Lucas, Maddison, Richarlison.
Many people punted on him for a couple of weeks and had earmarked this week (Ricky's return) as his expiration date.

    My defence is:

Wan Bissaka, Shaw, Mendy, Robertson, Peltier.

Would you transfer Mendy out for a -4? Worried about the potential for only 2 playing defenders if Shaw doesn't play.

Unlikely to be profitable this gw - his replacement needs to score 4+, and Shaw may well play anyway.

    b) Lukaku
    c) Lacazette
    d) Vardy
    e) Other?
