Barkley and Abraham benched as injured Chilwell misses out

Chelsea take on Leicester City in the second and final Premier League fixture to take place on Sunday.

Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is at 16:30 BST.

There has only been one goal scored in the last three league meetings between these two clubs: two stalemates sandwiching the Foxes’ 1-0 win in west London in December 2018.

The Chelsea starting XI shows only one change from the side that took on Liverpool in midweek, with Mason Mount (£6.0m) replacing Mateo Kovacic (£5.5m) in midfield.

That means there is again no place for Ross Barkley (£6.0m) or Tammy Abraham (£7.0m), who are among the substitutes.

Pedro (£7.0m) and Christian Pulisic (£7.5m) will flank Olivier Giroud (£7.0m) in the Blues’ attack, while Willian (£7.0m) makes the bench.

Ben Chilwell (£5.5m) won’t feature for the visitors this afternoon, with his place at left-back being taken by Christian Fuchs (£4.5m).

Chilwell misses out with a minor hip injury.

That is Brendan Rodgers’ only change to the side that drew 0-0 with Wolves in Gameweek 1, so Ayoze Perez (£6.5m) and James Maddison (£7.0m) will again support Jamie Vardy (£9.0m) in attack.

The Foxes are without a Premier League goal in three matches stretching back to April of last season, although have admittedly faced tricky opposition in the form of Wolves, Manchester City and Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea in that time.

Rodgers’ side managed only three shots from inside the box against a stubborn Wolves side last weekend.

They may get more joy out of a Chelsea backline that has shipped six goals in their two competitive matches in 2019/20, however.

Lampard’s troops also conceded on eight occasions in their final three pre-season friendlies.

The Blues look more promising going forward, however, having racked up 38 shots against Manchester United and Liverpool over the past week.

Chelsea XI (4-2-3-1): Kepa, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Zouma, Emerson, Kante, Jorginho, Pedro, Mount, Pulisic, Giroud.

Leicester City XI (4-3-3): Schmeichel, Ricardo, Evans, Soyuncu, Fuchs, Choudhury, Ndidi, Tielemans, Maddison, Perez, Vardy.

79 last week, 35 this week.

        Pope
        TAA Robbo Zinch Coleman
        Salah Sterling Perez Fraser
        Vardy Wesley

        Button Lund Donck Greenwood

Was exaggerating of course but definitely making at least 3 changes this week with my 2 FT.

I'm considering Robbo, Fraser, Vardy > Montoya, Martial, Kane(C) for -4, is that mad? Problem is that leaves me with Perez and Wesley but would have .4 to put towards changing Wes when I can.

I actually think those are veryv solid moves

I’m so reluctant to remove Robbo though given the fixtures

Perez has ok fixtures so he can be sorted in a week or 2.

Wesley needs to go but is a nightmare price so you prob have to keep him this week

                Salah, Sterling, KDB, Perez, Robinson
                Jota, King (Greenwood)

Issues broadly in order are: Guilbert, Robinson, King, Perez, Double Liverpool defence)

I personally think it’s still too early as it’s so far from clear what the right team structure is let alone players so too big a risk. Would much rather try to wait another 3 or 4 weeks

Man, you weren't lying, quite a few things to sort out. I know it'd be painful but I'd probably downgrade Robbo to AWB/Maguire and use the cash to upgrade Robinson to Tross and King to someone, maybe Pukki? I'd probably hold Guilbert at the moment and switch when you have a spare transfer. Like you said, at least Perez has a couple of decent fixtures next, hopefully he keeps his place.

On the brightside, having KdB is a huge positive. I'd actually consider Zinch rather than AWB/Maguire because at least you have Lund as a safety net if he doesn't play, City's fixtures are great and Spurs were very lucky to even score against them.

Complete opposite start around here compared to GW1&2 last season where the FFS template was near back to back 100 point GWs, if you captained Kun in GW2.

Will be interesting to see the different teams forming over the next few weeks.

    Would quite like KDB.

Robbo, barkley Perez to Mina (or AWB) KDB and Cantwell.

That back line and balance is hideous.

VVD TAA Digne Laporte and company will haunt you on many an occasion. Need one at least.

What a wonderful day. Lundstram owner and started him and have no one of Chelsea or Leicester, 1-1 a good scoreline

Abraham - that was terrible. And people saying Batshuayi should not be given a chance.
