How to handle FPL bandwagons in early Gameweeks

The latest episode of the Scoutcast is about to start on our YouTube channel.

You can watch the show from 8pm to 9pm BST.

This week, Joe is joined by Az and David to discuss the key Fantasy Premier League talking points ahead of Gameweek 3.

The next round of action is an important one for Fantasy managers as many will be wielding their two free transfers.

Already bandwagons have begun to form, so our Scoutcasters will be discussing how best to approach these.

Naturally, Teemu Pukki (£6.7m) is a prime example after he scored a hat-trick in Gameweek 2.

However, we will also be examining Liverpool assets after a lacklustre start to the season at both ends of the pitch.

I've got this team in place for GW3 atm and I need thoughts.

    Lloris
    TAA, Shaw, Laporte
    Sterling, Pogba, Martial, Cantwell,
    Kane (c), Jimenez, Ings

    b- Ryan, Lundstram, Albrighton, Kelly

Using my free hit this week as well due to my original team having difficult fixtures.

    This is my WC team...

    Pope
    Mina, AWB, Zinchenko
    Ceballos, KDB, Sterling, Salah, Martial
    Pukki, Rashford

Only playing subs are Kelly/Lundstram - worth getting Kane?

Think you need Kane, and I'm not sure about the Man Utd attacking double up. It is tricky to find the right balance though.

It's a huge call not getting Kane H to Newcastle when you're on a WC and have the ability to do it without hits.

I wouldn’t double up on Utd, I managed to fit in Kane but that required moving Salah to Mane which I’m still not too confident with ..

Agree with the others. On a WC I’d def have Kane

Only reason I don’t is it would have pushed me past -8 which would’ve been WC territory anyway

Very similar to mine. Def upgrade Rash to Kane and go lighter at the back for now.

        • 8 Years
        5 years, 1 month ago

Lighter at the back they are already 5.5 defenders. Then you start looking at a really weak back line of 4.5m defenders.

        It all counts imo

Ceballos fixtures are horrific, his role is uncertain & his manager is a psychopathic roulette croupier

But he could do well obviously

Love the midfield & attack apart from that

Pukki will likely rack up a few of his 20-25 blanks for the season next few game,a but again could do well

Prefer Digne / Coleman to Mina

AWB & Zink look great picks

      Pope is a legend

      8/10

      Try to get Son

On set pieces for an attacking team like Arsenal is well worth a £5.6m punt. Agree re Son

He can’t take set pieces from the bench though - and with emery in charge can you ever rule out the bench? Or a deeper role?

Has lots going for him tbf but that combined with his fixtures put me right off him

is this all down to the keeper or are teams getting more shots / chances due to midfield not protecting the defence enough?

It's down to us not playing out from the keeper as we did previously. Adrian's clearances and the passing out are championship level in comparison.

    Ryan
