What has happened to Ryan Fraser this season?

It has not been a memorable start to the season for Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Fraser (£7.3m).

After registering a total of seven goals and 14 assists in 2018/19, the Scottish international has now gone three matches of the new campaign without a single attacking return.

Not surprisingly, Fraser has already dropped £0.2m in price as Fantasy managers look elsewhere for value in midfield.

However, is there a possibility that they may come crawling back when Bournemouth’s fixtures become a little more favourable.

Gameweek 3 pitted the Cherries against defending champions Manchester City, while this weekend takes them to face Leicester City.

After those two tough matches, Gameweek 5 sees Eddie Howe’s men host Everton before they clash with Southampton (away) and West Ham (home).

We have assessed Fraser’s numbers from the first three matches of 2019/20 to see whether his owners should be patient or not.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the new season can access it in full.

How has Fraser started the season?

Lessons learned from Gameweek 3

So if Martial’s ruled out, who’s starting our 4.5 kid wonder, Greenwood?

Rashford will play central striker, I suppose that other three behind will be Lingard, James and Mata

Seems if you have Martial and Greenwood in your squad then this week should be OK and theres not much point in transferring out Martial. (Presuming he isnt out for longer )

Kane and siggy to aguero and lanzini for a hit ? Yes or no. Only have kdb for city attack cover . I feel both Kane and siggy could do well this gw though . Thanks .

Could be great this week, but I'd go the other way. Get Sterling and a cheaper striker.

Thanks . Could only get a 6.7 striker not keen on it . I realise sterling is close.from essential but "believe "(probably wrongly) aguero could match him

If you have your wildcard still, Aguero in seems ok. Otherwise I'd heavily lean towards Sterling + Barnes

Yeah, good point. Although I'm not generally a fan of ditching players after only one week (assuming you got him in last week), I think in this case he has to go.

Pocc's comments on squad harmony and the whole Eriksen situation is a big issue. Aguero and Sterling could both be looking at 30+ as captains

Kan could perform, I doubt Siggy will. It's the same with him as with Fraser. Even worse if you trust my eye test 😀

I think Siggy was completely out of that game and wonder if he might get benched. Glad I got rid.

I'm pretty sure he gets the points. Would be the same as if a goalkeeper scored a goal.

    5. Mr Pink
      • 11 Years
      5 years, 2 months ago

      He should. The rules state:

For a clean sheet by a goalkeeper or defender 4
For a clean sheet by a midfielder 1
For every 3 shot saves by a goalkeeper 1
      For each penalty save 5

To get points for CS and saves, it is specified that the player needs to be classified as a mid/def/gk. There is no such qualification for the penalty save points.

    6. MTPockets
        5 years, 2 months ago

Can't recall it happening, but assume they'd get the points. Rules say 5pts for each penalty save (doesn't specify goalkeeper)

Robertson net sales have slowed to a crawl. I wanted him to drop to 6.9 before bringing him in. That might not happen now.

Is Kelly likely to start against Aston Villa? He'll come on if martial is injured just for this gameweek cuz I dont want to transfer martial out and then get him back after international break.

why would you want him back. Its the same old martial, shows us a bot of something and then gets injured. Mount is a better option for example

He's playing no.9 for United, silly to think that he's not a good option long term

Or silly to think he isn't going to be exactly the same as previous seasons with brief flashes in between long spells of sweet fa?

Assuming I use my wc next week, would you swap Salah to sterling for one week only and captain. Or do you reckon Salah could do some damage at turf Moore ? Thanks

13 for Liv, yet I reckon they will win the league. City will get about 15. Think they will score shed loads of goals.

Think those that are persevering with an expensive defence full of Liverpool and City are going to be well rewarded

I dont see them keeping 20 each like last year.
        Between 15-18 imo.

The last time a team kept 20 clean sheets before 18/19 was Manchester United in 11/12 season.

Liverpool 14 clean sheets, although TAA will get 8+ assists.
City 18 clean sheets, Mendy to be in Top 3 FPL defender this season IF he start firing soon.

      Pope

      AWB Digne Zinchenko

      Martial Sterling Salah cantwell

      Pukki Aguero Jota

      Button kelly Rico Dendo

      0.1 ITB.

Currently on a -4 this week is it worth to consider a WC with the uncertainty around Martial and to shift a few things around or is that a over reaction?

      B) Start Greenwood and hope he gets some decent minutes
      C) Martial > Mount -4
