Fantasy Football Scout to partner with Football Index for the 2020/21 season

Sponsored by Football Index

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce that we’ll be joining forces with Football Index in the upcoming season.

We’ll be producing weekly articles throughout 2020/21, while there will also be regular segments on our Scoutcast and plenty more coverage besides.

If you’re new to Football Index, think of it as a revolutionary betting platform that works a bit like a virtual stock market.

Similar to player prices in Fantasy Premier League, the aim is to bet on the future value of the players when the price is low and then sell on when the value is high – the key difference here being that traders can profit from their ability to spot a bargain who is about to hit the big-time.

Fantasy managers can use their expertise to anticipate the on-field success of their assets in question, with dividends awarded for goals, clean sheets, assists and a whole host of underlying stats, from shots on target and accurate crosses to aerial duels won and tackles.

This is where the data in our Premium Members Area can really come into its own and give Fantasy Football Scout subscribers the heads up on which players could prosper on match days.

But that’s not all: along the way, traders win media dividends for positive headlines written about their players, so it’s worth keeping an eye on off-the-field events as well.

Like all betting platforms, the rules are fairly straightforward, and the nuances become more familiar with time.

We’ll be back over the weekend with a more detailed guide on how to play Football Index but head over to their website now for more information and tips on how to turn Fantasy prowess into a successful portfolio.

And don’t forget: this is trading with real money, so always gamble responsibly.

This is team presently set up. Got .5 m in bank to get Martial for Ings week 2. Would really like Adams/Mitrovic over Brewster which would mean Justin to 4 m ( Mitchell) and ASM to 4.5 ( Bissouma)

    Which option do you prefer?
A Justin ASM Brewster as below or
B Mitchell Bissouma Adams or Mitrovic

    McCarthy
    TAA Dier Justin*
    Salah Aubameyang Alli ASM* Soucek
    Werner Ings

    Button Vinagre Brewster* Taylor

      B.

I am also getting cold feet on brewster. I don't want to waste one of my front 3 positions.

I am now considering berge of Sheffield for 5m too alongside soucek. But maybe that is a step too far!

      Bruno
      Martial

Who does he start over, as Uniteds 4th/5th most attacking option at best?

Finished strongish, always looks close to points, Newcastle became a bit more open and attacking towards the end of the season. Potentially signing Wilson and Fraser, Wilson especially should help ASM compared to Joelinton

Not a big fan as betting games are generally aimed at losers who have no idea how to moderate their habit and designed simply to take money off them.

Not sure how this sits with FPL's stance on gambling.

In a league with no transfers over the season, who will get the most points by the end
      A Rice
      B Armstrong
Thank you for helping. Last season the answer might not be what you would have expected.

Depends on the scoring system. If it is more defensive Rice, attacking Armstrong.

Yes thanks. I've now checked. Same as FPL I think, but no point extra for midfielder clean sheet, which could be important.

I think I’m just gonna select a team for the first 3 gws and WC in gw 4 to get this team -

      McCarthy - Steer
      TAA - Davies - Taylor - Vinagre - Cahill
      Salah - KDB - Pulisic - Stephens - Gordon
      Vardy - Jimenez - Mitrovic

Big fixture swing in gw 4 and will be enough time to see where the form lies.

      Thoughts? 🙂

Son is far better than Kane for lesser price

So vardy. There’s no one in the Leicester team that can match him

Having said that vardy has tougher fixtures in the first 3 and thus I think Kane will outscore him in the first 3

Yes, betting sponsorship is everywhere but that doesn't make it OK, and I thought FFS was better than that! If they're that desperate I'd rather they drop a couple of their ProPundits.

        I think I've nailed it!

        GK: McCarthy, 4.0

No explanation needed for this one.

DEF: TAA, Justin, Vinagre, Taylor, Mitchell

TAA doesn't need an explanation. Getting a defender from a top defensive team for 4.5 is bargain! We have two here in Vinagre and Taylor, and Justin just about creeps into that category too, thanks to great rotation. Setting up without a 4.0 playing defender seems like an inefficient use of money to me.

MID: Salah, Auba, Fernandes, Podence, Soucek

Salah picks himself. Auba becomes a City mid GW3. That's the easy part. Booking both my first two free transfers practically guarantees the need for a hit in the first couple of weeks. Starting with Son and switching to Fernandes therefore essentially costs 4points, and there is no chance that Son's xPts is +4 higher than Soucek's for GW1. This is why I think starting with Fernandes is optimal, particularly as a GW2 captaincy option. Podence represents the 5.5 bracket and could be Armstrong or ASM. I think it likely that one of them starts well and hopping on the right one could result in a nice early rank + team value boost. Soucek is very underpriced. His fixtures are unfortunate but he's a great option ahead of Fernandes in GW1 and offers a lot more off the bench than any 4.5 option for only a little bit extra.

        FOR: Werner, Mitro, Adams

Werner is a fairly standard pick. I'm not convinced he's going to turn out as the best forward over the first few weeks, but that is very hard to predict, and starting with Werner is a very safe bet, given his ownership, and very easy to switch to Martial down the line if things don't look 100%. Mitro is the top scorer from the championship last season and the talisman for his team, offering great value at 6.0. Adams doesn't really have to come that close to matching Ings given he costs 2.5 less. The difference between them post-lockdown definitely wasn't that big.

This team has a strong bench, price points that allow for easy changes and great captaincy options. Bingo!

Spurs have the best start to the season. You have zero players.

None of the Spurs assets come close to the big three midfielders.

It's possible I could look into:
            Justin --> Davies
            Werner --> Kane
            Mitro --> Brewster

Hmmm... I do quite like this actually!

More than one way to play. Can’t have em all.
Anyway Spurs v Everton could easily be something like a 1-1 draw.

I like that you put the effort in to explain some of your reasoning, but i'm not with you on Justin, Podence, Mitro, Salah and Adams.
I find the Premium + Budget enabler tactic you are using unbalanced.

Read that the chap who played Robin in the brilliant 60's series was on medication to reduce the size of his package while Adam West had the opposite problem!

Just cleared my history this morning, shameful subject matter. Ward stopped the mess after a bit and depended on his Cape thereafter. West stuffed towels down his pants.

I have made so.any transfers that when gameweek starts I will automatically be disappointed. I think I've had half the players in my squad at some point. Anyway, how does this look?

        Ryan
        TAA Doherty Justin KWP
        Auba Son Zaha
        Werner Mitro Ings

        Nyland Vinagre Soucek Greenwood

I wouldn’t bother with Soucek if he’s going to miss their only decent fixture for weeks.

Too much spread of funds for my liking.

Take a back seat for a week if you feel you're overdoing it
