As some of you may have noticed, the Premier League has this afternoon rolled out dates for some of the fixtures that were cancelled from the Gameweek 29 schedule last weekend. Fantasy managers now have time to take in the impending double Gameweeks as a result of the newly-arranged matches:
West Ham’s home clash with Man United will now take place on Wednesday April 17, or Gameweek 33 to you and I. Essentially, the Hammers definitely have a double and will travel to Southampton before hosting United. If Sir Alex Ferguson’s side win their FA Cup Sixth Round replay with Chelsea, however, they will need to play the Semi-Final that weekend – this will see their league trip to Stoke cancelled. If they lose at Stamford Bridge, they will also have a DGW33.
Man City’s home match with Wigan has been moved to the same evening. As both clubs play in the Semi Finals of the Gameweek 33 weekend, however, they will only have a single match that Gameweek.
City’s home game with West Brom, initially scheduled for last weekend, has yet to be given a new date, the club have confirmed. Wigan’s home game with Swansea, initially set for Gameweek 33, has been moved to Gameweek 36, giving both clubs a double that week. The Latics also have a trip to West Brom, while Swansea entertain City. Bottom line here is both Swansea and West Brom are without a Gameweek 33 fixture.
Chelsea’s replay with United has now been moved to Monday April 1. With a league game against Southampton taking place a couple of days earlier, though, it’s clear rest and rotation looks set to play a significant part for the Blues – even more so if they overcome Steaua Bucharest in tomorrow evening’s Europa League cup match. At present, their trip to Fulham, which was initially scheduled for Gameweek 29, has yet to be given a new date.
There’s still a lot up in the air, then, and plenty of ifs and buts still to consider, mainly depending on the Chelsea-United cup match.
What we know for certain is that Everton, Arsenal and West Ham have doubles in Gameweek 33, Swansea and West Brom have blanks in Gameweek 33, while Swansea and Wigan have doubles in Gameweek 36.
