Arsene Wenger expects Laurent Koscielny to be available for Arsenal’s home game against Palace. Roberto Martinez has doubts over a quartet of players for Everton’s trip to Leicester. Loic Remy will be assessed prior to QPR’s opener with Hull, Sam Allardyce rules out Matt Jarvis for London derby with Spurs, while West Brom boss Alan Irvine confirms Joleon Lescott and James Morrison will miss the visit of Sunderland:
Arsene Wenger has confirmed he will be without his World Cup winning trio for the visit of Crystal Palace. The Gunners boss has suggested that Laurent Koscielny should be fit and available to face the Eagles, though, after the defender was subbed off in last week’s Community Shield win over City with an Achilles problem. Theo Walcott, David Ospina, Serge Gnabry and Ryo Miyaichi are all sidelined through injury, though Abou Diaby has returned to full training.
Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Romelu Lukaku, Kevin Mirallas and new signing Christian Atsu will all be assessed before a decision is made on their availability for tomorrow’s visit to Leicester. The trio were all involved in the World Cup and have had a limited pre-season. Meanwhile, Seamus Coleman has returned to training after a hamstring injury, though Martinez concedes it’s still too early to tell whether the defender will be available for the weekend.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp remains hopeful that Loic Remy will be ready to feature against Hull, with the Frenchman expected to take part in training. Elsewhere Adel Taarabt seems likely to miss out, with Redknapp going on to say that the Moroccan isn’t yet fit having not participated in training at all during pre-season.
Matt Jarvis has been ruled out of the London Derby with Spurs through injury and joins Andy Carroll on the sidelines, confirms Allardyce. New signing Enner Valencia looks likely to miss out, with the Hammers boss “still waiting” on the Ecuadorian to get up to full fitness.
West Brom could hand a debut to summer signing Brown Ideye, with the Nigerian in contention to make the squad, for the home game against Sunderland, according to Alan Irvine. The Baggies boss though, has ruled out both James Morrison and Joleon Lescott, though, with both missing out through knee injuries.
Paul Lambert has confirmed Ron Vlaar will be available for Villa’s trip to Stoke. The Dutchman has played just 45 minutes of pre-season after featuring in the World Cup but his manager revealed he has “no worries” over the defender’s fitness levels for tomorrow’s match.
