The ScoutCast – Episode 136 – Bangin

Fond of sand dunes and salty air, Granville returns from “avin’ it large” in Ibiza, to join me once again in the ScoutCast studio.

The ageing hedonist and I rinse through the regulars – giving our views on the week’s transfer bandwagons, whilst previewing the weekend and giving a shout-out to those managers blazing trails atop the various Fantasy Football Scout leagues.

Inevitably, we also moan about our Gameweek mishaps, discuss the latest development in the United revolution and surf the waves being generated by the Fantasy Premier League price tweaks.

Drop the beats via this link or “roll another fat one” via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Bench two:
    A) Bertrand (swa)
    B) Rafael (lei)
    C) Moore (MUN)
    D) Hutton (ARS)
    E) Moreno (whm)

My picks so far. Worried Arsenal would flop, and Hutton will score big.

If Herrera performs as he did against QPR this week, are we considering him a serious option?

at 7.3m, the mid ranked highest of all Man U players in the ICT table for GW4 and watching the match on TV he looked to be very advanced thanks to Blind anchoring the midfield.

Aye..he looked good. Something of the Ramsey about him in that game..Nothing flash and did everything really well. Schniederlin is similar this season..

yeah, just posted (below) about the form of the cheaper mids this season.

For that price bracket I'd want Mirallas. Herrera won't play advanced.

indeed...Mirallas is a great pick and proven.

but he's always at risk of rotation.

Herrera was advanced against QPR. Did you watch the game?

Yeap...said so earlier in the week but no one listened. He will become a good option with Blind around now...had better atacking stats than ADM.

and the midfield diamond allows him to venture forward as much as Mata and ADM too - Blind could prove the key to this united side working. Potentially a very important signing (Blind) in FPL terms, if not an option himself.

Indeed, we look a lot better going forward now that they have someone to trust behind them.
Herrera for 2m+ less....very tempting. Had to go with ADM this week though 😀

Silva to Chadli with ft. 4.7itb.

    Krul
    Ivanovic, Clyne, Chester
    Sterling, Fabregas, Ramsey, Siggy, Chadli
    Costa (c), Naismith

    Elliott, Hutton, Moore, Jovetic

Have I got the reserve order correct if Chester doesn't play.
    Anything warrant a -4 hit.

Yeah he is worth considering but what swayed it was when I read the stat that Chadli leads all mf with 8 shots in the box which has seen him score 3 goals. I think he'll get a few more v wba.

I'm pretty confused between picking him, Miralles or ADM & even Larssen.

I could even leave Silva in & sell Chester or leave both & sel Jovetic & get Rooney.

If you had to strictly stick to one of these extreme strategies, which would you choose?

    A) Always make an early transfer if it means getting a price rise/ avoiding a drop
    B) Only make transfers on Friday night/ Saturday morning, regardless of prices.

    1. mookie
      • 11 Years

I'll be honest, you'll be fine without him. He gets forward, fair enough but I think defensively Pool are still all over the shop. Go with defenders you know can get CSs AND THEN can get attacking returns on top. That's my view anyway.

The year of the sneaky mids?

Herrera (vs ADM and Mata), Fabregas [and even Matic](vs Hazard), Chadli (vs Eriksen/Lamela), Schneiderlin (vs Tadic), Silva (vs Yaya) Sterling (vs Gerrard), Ramsey (vs Sanchez)?

Are these cheaper options also going to prove better FPL options?

Or do we see the premium mids exploding into form soon?

I can see my GW8/9 front line of Rooney // Benteke // Lukaku...but then again maybe Welbeck and Pelle do better..

Not a bad old strategy at all! Ade or Pelle, depending on who you prefer. Leave Benteke for the next 4 absolutely, he should be back quite soon and will build his fitness up in those tougher games. After that, QPR, Spurs, West Ham, Soton, Burnley, CPL, Leic, WBA... A lot of nice games there.

Yeah, Pelle not going anywhere. I should have bought him and Baines last week!

I might switch Rooney ->Ade->Benteke for the above fixtures.

Lukaku is never pleasant to own. Even though I did like 4 times last year. If anything get him for tough fixtures. He's a reverse flat track bully.

    1. Do people support Sanchez > Di Maria?
    2. Should i instead lose Bruce?
    3. Do i play Terry or Clyne

    Krul
    Bardsley, Naylor, Terry/Clyne/Other
    Sanchez, Sterling, Siggy, Fab
    Costa, Rooney

    Manone, Bojan, JWP

Which of these is best, selling Dzeko, was a bit unclear when I asked earlier.

    A) Sell for Pelle, I own Tadic.
    B) Sell for Welbeck, I own Ramsey.

If I go for one of those, I will captain Rooney/Costa

    Or

C)Bring in Ade, captain him, but may want to sell him pretty quick?

Was sold on C, now thinking twice...
    Thanks.
