I dont follow the underlying data 100% each week Sometimes you have to use it + consider the opposition. i thought sheffield would limit Salah and Liverpool which they did , and expected TAA to get a cleansheet and maybe contribute in attack (almost happened) » Read

He is scoring (i.e finishing chances with low probability at a rate better than Messi which nobody could sustain ever since stats started) so will regress. Still a very nice pick when he does regress, but not a captain for me this week. Salah the clear favorite. » Read

Its an easy hold this week with Antonio seemingly out for West ham Week 8 is the decision, but then again City are terrible this year for underlyng attacking data ( 12th in the league ) so could hold then too... » Read

Wilson seems to be going under the radar here Ticking along nicely. Playing Everton next who have 2 players missing in defence + Pickford, and he is on pens Maybe go for him as my Antonio replacement over Adams » Read

How are you playing FPL that you didnt get a captain haul yet? most of the weeks had the highest underlying data based projected top points scorer do well These were the pre deadline top captain picks based on underlying data and what they scored : Week 1 : Salah (40 points) Week 2: Auba (10 points) Week 3: Sterling -blank (4) Week 4: Salah + Sterling ( 26 , 18) Week 5: Sterling ( 22) Week 6: Salah - blank ( 4) Next week the clear pick is Salah again. » Read

Im here : Meslier Robbo TAA Saiss Ayling Kilman Hamez Sterling Salah Son Bissouma Brewster Antonio DCL Looking to make moves which are backed by underlying data : As reports are going that Antonio is perhaps out for 6 weeks (unconfirmed) i will in that case do this -4 Sterling to Foden Antonio to Kane And week 8 -4 TAA to Chilwell Bissouma to Zaha ( i have done a U turn on him, his underlying data is decent) Will give me a more 2020 like team which is doing decent so far. » Read

But there is nothing to base the statement they are just warming up on. They have lost Silva, Aguero, Jesus . Sane from their prime attacking unit They have thus lost creativity from the middle and speed and crossing outwide. Added on top of this their fullbacks which can be an outlet for other teams which lack midfield creativity (e.g liverpool) are also not offering much I was a big backer of City for obvious reasons, and got them early. However as of yet there is not underlying data to suggest they are worth the value. Its more likely based on the data so far they will continue to struggle to score more than 2 goals a game. » Read

More Man City data which looks terrible Sterling has worse underlying data ( forgot the misses as it doesnt count here for xG and xA) than Trossard , Lacazette , Firmino , and many more There is nohing but the hope of good fixtures to keep them as 12mil assests . » Read

He was my plan However City are not giving any indications yet ( sample size is small and they have had injuries) that he will be worth the 12million Foden looks like he could get 90% of KDB output for 60% the price » Read

This is the best selections so far this year based on underlying data (xGi per 90) from Understat. The FPL points are as expected overall following the players who are putting themselves in the best positions to score and assist. See my post below. City are a headache currently regarding which way to go with them There is no evidence from this year they are worth the money. (and I have had Sterling since week 2) It makes the game fun though, 2 of the 3 certainies from last year are now up for debate with only num1 below a must. 1. liverpool attack 2 Liverpool defence 3 City attack » Read
