A by a mile, look at those next 5 fixtures, the hardest is Chelsea away who just conceded 3 against West Brom. » Read

Looking at that next 5 -the toughest being che who just let in 3 against West Brom- you've got to bring Ings in for Werner. I was looking to save a FT after playing my WC but even without the price drop/rise it's a no-brainer. » Read

I think you're right, but it just backs up the argument that it's best to go with just KDB as a big-hitter if you're not going to captain Salah and the stats say don't captain Salah away. Up to GW22 Salah has only 2 'plum' home fixtures. The wisdom on here also seems to be captain Sterling away and KDB at home. That's why I'd choose Sterling over Salah. » Read

I think due to the injuries in their squad the argument for including 3 City mids on a WC has never been stronger. The majority will go with KDB. The key advantage Salah (or Mane, but lets face it, no serious players are going with Mane) has over Sterling is no threat of rotation, which has gone for a few GWs at least. Penalties are useful but I think the fact that Raheem can regularly turn it on home or away trumps this significantly. Factor in extremely low ownership -currently 6%- for Sterling (Salah will always be 1st choice on the casual players list) and the fact that -if you're only captaining him at home- for almost the entire remaining first half of the season he's only got 2, maybe 3 captainable fixtures. And then there's Foden, a steal at 6.5 when with Jesus out he's going to be pretty much nailed.* *Cue benching this week. » Read

See my post back on p17, you need two starting 11 long term playing subs, probably 3 due to Covid. The likes of Lamptey Mitchell + a none-player is sub-optimal. » Read

Also allows for rotation too. The only ones of that lot above I'll likely bench are Podence, Saiss or possibly DCL, but still , allows for more flexibility. » Read

Decided to hold firm and stick to my plan from GW1 of no Salah and Robbo + Trent, especially after Son's performance last week. Taylor has been in my WC team all week, if I had kept Salah I would have gone with him, I still think he's the 2nd best 4.5 defender long term: Martinez Forster TAA Robbo James/Mitchell Saiss Lamptey KDB Son Foden Podence Anguissa/Klich Werner Jimi DCL 0.3/0.2 ITB It is really tempting to go with Taylor leaving me with 0.9 ITB so easy to switch up in midfield or attack (e.g. Foden to Grealish, Jimi to Martial), but as I -famous last words- want to run with this squad for the foreseeable future, keep the money in the team, and I think I'll have spare transfers to switch down James or Klich if needs be. My final decision at the mo is Jesus or Werner, I'm really struggling with it. » Read

As I have Podence and Foden in my starting 11, I feel I need a supersub alongside Lamptey. Can afford up to 5.8. A) Klich B) Reece James C) Someone else? » Read

Yes that is the key difference this season, which I would argue makes two starting-11 subs absolutely essential and probably a starting 3rd sub more important than ever before. » Read

Yes as long as the lowest amount possible gets you a starting 11 player. I you've got two 4.5 forwards or two 4.0 defenders (aside from Mitchell) on your bench, it isn't optimal. » Read

There was a very good article a season or two ago on how much team value is worth in terms of points, they factored in opportunity cost and all the rest as much as they could. The conclusion -if memory serves- was every 0.5 is worth an advantage of about 10 points over a season, so hits for the sake of building 0.1-0.2 are not worth it. I wish I'd saved it. There was another good one about how many points not going with a 3rd sub or a 2nd sub costs you a season. Conclusion = You don't really need a 3rd playing sub (it costs you an average of about 6-8 points a season if I remember right), but not having a playing 2nd sub will bite you. » Read
