Ronaldo off as United are held again
Christiano Ronaldo faces a 3-match ban following his red card in tonights game against Portmouth at Fratton Park. Ronaldo was dismissed after an apparent headbutt on Portsmouth’s Richard Hughes as United were held 1-1.
The straight red for violent conduct will mean an instant 3-match ban for the United man which will see him miss the local derby against City at the weekend plus the home matches against Tottenham and Sunderland.
So, having faced the problem of replacing Rooney following his injury, Fantasy Managers must now look to find a replacement for Ronaldo. Such is his price tag, it would be a brave decision to hold onto the United man until he see’s out his ban. Possible replacements will include the usual suspects of Gerrard and Lampard, who have both found the net this sesaon. Alternatively Fabregas and Arteta are worthy options. The Everton man in particular has started the season in sparkling form.
I’ve started a new poll for those unlucky enough to be facing this new dilemma and let’s face it, that’s quite a few us.

This is bad bad news. Did I hear rightly that Carlos Edwards limped off for Sunderland tonight. Does anyone know how bad/ longterm the injury looks?

Yep I heard that, trying to find out some info now.

I’m going to have to use my “wild card” to make my team more flexible and deeper. I messed up going for such a high priced midfield. Oh well, Geremi and Milner have done me well…after one game.

Hey Mark, Tottenham reports that Berbatov is out for two weeks, in case you haven’t noticed yet.

Ronaldo you arse.

Bad news for all Fantasy Managers with Ronaldo in their team, but if you can see past the three match ban, I believe Ronaldo will return with a great run of form. Remember how loathed he was after the Rooney incident at the World Cup? Still… Very frustrating…..

I’ve got both Ronaldo and Berbatov and as they are both out for a few weeks I’m gonna make 2 transfers and bring in Drogba and Malouda, as much as I hate Chelsea they’ve started well so it seems like a good bet.

What does everyone think about bringing in Nani instead of Ronaldo for the three games?
The way I see it, United are gonna start hitting the back of the net -They play City(A), Spurs (H) then Sunderland (H) and with Ronaldo and Rooney out surely Nani will play in an even more attacking role with Tevez?
He’s scored some cracking goals pre season and I’m thinking of gambling with him as my captain! Need to start racking the captain points after Ronaldo’s weak -2 for me in week 2.
All thoughts welcome… I am also considering Jenas in for Ronaldo - Derby (H). Terrible start this season for Spurs but surely Derby at the Lane will allow them to rack some goals?

I’ve got Ronaldo & SteveG. Oh dear. I think I’m going to draft in Lampard and wait for Gerrard to heal.
Hasn’t Lampard got a hairline fracture of his toe which he picked up pre-season?
