Santa Cruz Crocked

by Mark on August 30

Blackburn’s Roque Santa Cruz has suffered what could be a recurrence of his pre-season Achilles injury in today’s game at West Ham and was duly subbed after 29 minutes.

The striker went down clutching his heel and was duly replaced by Derbyshire. The extent of the injury is not yet known and it did appear as though he attempted to play on which hopefully suggests a minor strain. I’ll bring you more details in my scout notes as we get details.

At least Cruz got a goal before he departed. I had yakubu up front and that was a disaster. well done all of you who plumbed for zaki up front as you got your points. i ve got adebayor as my #2 striker. here we go!

I went for Yak over Zaki this week too……to quote from Gordon Strachan “im going to go get seriously drunk then throw myself off a cliff”….

i spent 4 points getting the yak for him to miss a pen! Gav’s feeling was right then, a brace for Zaki, at least he’s in my second team. Which is doing a lot better than my team in the money league :-(

hope i’m mistaken, but pretty sure Cruz didn’t score today.

it was Roberts i think

Mark, is this the first time you put 2 players who’ve missed pens in your scout picks?
