Cech Scare For Blues
Petr Cech reportedly picked up a thigh injury in the Czech Republic’s 2-1 defeat to Poland yesterday.
Information is scarce right now but it is confirmed that the Chelsea stopper will miss Wednesday’s game against Slovenia according to the Czech medical staff…
“It’s not enough time till the next match for him to be 100 percent fit,” national team physician Petr Krejci said in a statement today.
He must therefore be a doubt for Chelsea’s visit to Boro next weekend. As always, I’ll monitor this one and keep you updated.

Well lets hope its not too long otherwise either Reina/Van Der Saar are coming into my team. I have little faith in Schwarzer in the long term although Fulham have reasonable fixtures coming up

I hope Cech feels better soon - Many people need him back including me.

Man injuries are a lottery aren’t they
[Reply]
I wonder what the record is for the most injuries to hit a ff team with someone playing seriously
[Reply]
yay i have VDS and swazrser
[Reply]
how many injuries u have dkbannanas?
[Reply]
Well Zaki, Cech and Meite only at the mo so not 2 bad. My bogy week was week 5 when Deco and Carvalho got injured within 15 mins of playing, Clichy got taken off 2 and Nasri and Meite got injured plus Wes Brown got rotated as soon as Neville came in. That was my worst but I’m sure theres people who have had much worse than that. How are you doing on the injury side gormdubhgorm?
[Reply]
I’d put money on that he will be out for next weekend. Thigh injuries for keepers are nasty cos of kick outs
[Reply]
well injuries I am grand… dkbannas expect for deco who I decided to kept in the hope he be fit for boro match…looks like stupid choice now!

I have doubts on Zaki, Cole, Gallas and Cech now. I also have Bentley (worst purchase ever) and De Ridder (doesnt play). I dont have Ronaldo so may be looking at a wildcard for this weekend. Yes?

Please make the internationals go away!

Strange to wish injury on someone but for me it will hopefully mean lots of people replacing Cech with Reina, taking a 4 point hit and Cech’s price going down. As I have Reina already his price might go up and I could then swap him for Cech (who I think will be better over the season) when he’s back without losing any cash.

Who is a cheapy cheap but semi useful midfield option at 5m or less?

Steven Reid at Blackburn who may be back from injury soon. Usual suspects that everyone has are Marney or Delap.

Hi Guys,
Im pretty new to this game, this is my FPL team. I was hoping you might be able to offer me some advice. Im doing ok but I just cant seem to get the higher scores. Im currently considering dropping Berbatov for Davies, and selling Arteta for Lampard. Alternatively Selling Valencia and getting in SWP. Im cautious as Man U have good fixtures coming up and ive a feeling Berb is going to start firing.
What do you think?
GK Schwarzer Gordon
DF Clichy Cole A Traore A Figueroa Hangeland
MF Young A Delap Valencia Arteta Ronaldo
FW Berbatov Zaki Defoe

I’ve got the same dilemma with Berba. I expect him to start scoring big with the fixtures coming up. But if he doesn’t he’s expensive and I could replace him with higher scoring alternative Defoe and use the cash difference elsewhere.
Like your tactic of having 2 big 4 in the backline and presume you then rotate 1 of the other 3 depending on fixtures? I’m thinking of doing the same, i.e., sell 1 of my 3 big 4 defenders to free up cash. Do think you should have a top 4 keeper - probably Reina if Cech now injured.

Thanks Kenncam,
Def wise thats been exactly my tactic.
Its worked reasonably ok. I usually score reasonably well above average but its difficult as there has been a few pretty unpredictable weeks.
Im really not sure about the keeper situation. The cash used to get them, means you have to sacrifice a decent midfielder or striker. The points you’d gain from the mid/fw in my mind would usually exceed those lost on keepers. I try and rotate considering the best chances for clean sheets.
Zaki’s injury may force my hand anyhow. I’m also thinking 2 Wigan players v Liverpool is a no goer as i dont expect any points there.

Looks like you dont have much choice IMO and nows the time to get in Ronaldo and Berbatov - These guys are going to be hot point getters over the next few gameweeks I think.
Robbie Keane is starting to look attractive now as his price drops - he might be worth a punt at 8.5m. I’m planning to get rid of Van Persie and considering Defoe, Keane, Cole and Carew.
The saved money will help bolster my currently weak defence.
My current team is:
Friedel (Schwartzer)
Bosigwa, G Johnson, Figueroa, (L.Young, Paintsil)
A. Young, Arteta, Ronaldo, Ireland (Giovanni)
RVP, Berbatov, Zaki
Only 0.1m in the bank. Any thoughts on how to improve this would be welcomed!
Possible signings:
Agger, Van Der Sar, A. Traore, Carvalho, Kranjcar, Defoe, Keane
….and shipping out:
L.Young, G Johnson, Friedel, Ireland, RVP

Not sure you should get rid of Ireland? Msn City have some good games coming up.

My new tactic is only to have players whoose names I can spell that means getting rid of swarser (see) and I already got rid of RVP his name too long. I am now consdiering getting rid of VDS for the same reason. Adebyor is another who i should drop. Zaki stays defoe stays. I am not getting Bendtner or Bednar too confusing.
I am definitely not getting Filipe Teixeirraaaaagh !Donk could be a possiblity. Agbonglhore got rid him already. Moekoenaaaaaaaah has no chance getting in my team. Oh and I got rid of Jaaskilinannnaain. Anyway you get the idea names i can type/spell only need apply to my team!

I reckon your dream team would be:
Hart (Jones)
Cole, Ball, Bale, Alex (Hunt)
Cole, Deco, Duff, Park, (Gera)
Zaki, Jo (Cole)

no Heart, Coal, Bail, Dekko, Jerra, and Joe would have to be changed too!

haha, nice tactic gormdubhgorm. Luke, sounds like wildcard might be a wise move right now if those injuries turn out to be more long term + Man U have decent fixtures coming up; possibly a very good time to get Ronaldo in your team without taking point deductions for transfers
[Reply]
I’m waiting for Santa Cruz to drop further, then he’s going to be in my team quicker than Joe Cole goes to ground.

How bad is Cole injured? Anyone any fresh news?
