possibly, it was always my fear. seems justified. howeve a glance at the chalkboard indicates that tevez had 3 shots in the area, 2 on target and 1 blocked. Would still expect him to get something from the double. as im moving him on immediately afterwards ill stick with him, their fixtures can’t justify a swap for adebayor

100% sure it should never be any kind of assist cuz Berbatov touched the ball over 10 times, and it even touched Pompey defender a couple of times.
Berbatov could have made 100 touches, Rooney gave the pass. And Rooney passed to Carrick to, 1 Rooney assist would be fair.

Hang on a minute. Five assists have been given on the FPL site. Does that mean that one should have been given to Rooney instead of one of the other players? It’s not like only four assists have been dished out and the Rooney one didn’t count at all.

I could not see a deflection, but difficult to tell because of camera angle and the fact that I have Rooney as captain…. However I’ve seen assists been given for less, they gave an assist to Van Persie on Fabregas goal early in the season that he deserved far less than Rooney on the Berbatov goal – and we both have him as captain so we should not argue about. We deserve 2 assists just for not faking out with all these Rooney not starting speculations!
Well, I would very much like that Rooney get 2 assists, but I’m afraid it’s not possible. But they should give him that one when Berbatov scored.

Yeah, but RBJ, five assists have been given. If it was only four then clearly one would have been disallowed due to a defenders touch etc, however, FPL is regarding all assists at Old Trafford today to be legitimate. The question is not ‘Was it an assist or not?’, but ‘Have the assists been given to the right players?’
But what about the pass to Carrick? If any should be given an assist it should be Rooney.

No, Lennon wasn’t given an assist in the West Ham (H) match, and I woke up the next day to see that his score had jumped from 6 to 9 points.
Ah, that’s promising news. I remember they took a while with Evra’s a few weeks back.
Assists are sourced “live” by the press association, who provide the the live text that the BBC get for each game.
FPL then review these within roughly 24 hours. Whatever it is at the end of the games tomorrow should be the definitive word.
The last thing we want though is the BP’s being allocated to players before the assists have been corrected, (which unfortunately will happen). For instance, with Rooney scoring one goal and playing 65 minutes, I can see him getting 1 or 0 BP’s. If he has a goal and an assist, the judges may give him 2 or 3 BP’s.
Yeah following the double it looks dodgy, but, I just have a sneaking suspicion Bellamy’s spot is under threat after a pretty dreadful display today. Mancini will need to look like he reacts decisively to that awful performance and I need to find a replacement for Pienaar anyway that’s for sure.

Man City have way too many midfielders to make a solid choice that any one of them will be playing both DGW matches, and with a tricky set of fixtures to follow I won’t be going near them myself.

Yes, I think that City’s good run over December and January, (where Tevez ran riot), now means that they don’t have many good fixtures left as they’ve used most of them up.

About assists…
I think that assist given to Evra should be given to Nani, as he touched the ball and changed its direction a little bit, that may have disoriented the Pompey defender.
Rooney shouldn’t get any assits IMHO. In the case of Carrick’s goal, it seems to be the Pompey who passed the ball to Carrick (however, it’s not clear from the video). In the case of Berba’s goal, the Pompey defender touched the ball two times but failed to kick it far away, so Berba didn’t lose it.

Yeah, I’m sure he thought about it but at the end of the day he knows that each game is still worth the same 3 points and they’re behind Chelsea and every game counts big time for them if they’re to make up the gap. With Berbatov and Owen misfiring big time this season, he can’t quite trust those two to start and win the game without having to involve Rooney yet.
Rooney would be fuming….SAF needs to keep him happy.

None are bad players, it’s just ‘cool’ to put them down, so people who haven’t seen them play subsequently believe the hype.
