Derby Day Dugout Discussion

by Andy on February 7

We close out the gameweek this Sunday with two matches that will start a fire in the hearts of the supporters, if nothing else. We kick off as Birmingham play host to their close rivals Wolverhampton Wanders in this weeks Black Country derby.

Birmingham show their measure of consistency by naming the same side that has started their last 11 Premier League games stretching back over three months. Wolves also name an unchanged side from that which fought out a 2 all draw against Hull last week, leaving the likes of Ebanks-Blake to squirm on the bench and Milijas nowhere to be seen.

And with all of the talk this week pertaining to measures off the field in the build up to this game – a distraction Arsenal may be happy of thanks to their demolition by Manchester United last week – we finish the gameweek as Chelsea play host to fellow Londoners Arsenal in a top of the table clash.

As we wade our way through both games today why not come into the Chat Room as the Dugout Discussion is now open and welcoming all arrivals.

Should I swap Collinson for Lee? even though Collinson has a double game-week coming up I’ve not been impressed (noticed he only played 61 minutes on saturday) originally bought him in for the West Ham double that was due a few weeks back before it got changed.

Collinson to Lee good move?

Tommy J February 7 at 9:56 pm

I’m getting rid for Nzog

Fishy February 7 at 9:57 pm

Morrissey1986 February 7 at 9:51 pm

32% Still have Milner is no one thinking of getting rid?

SuperDorrans February 7 at 9:52 pm

I got rid for Tuncay. =/

teddyshardlow February 7 at 9:52 pm

Fixtures do get a lot better after GW29

Kim February 7 at 9:55 pm

I´m keeping him!
I will put him on the bench this GW then give him a last chance to prove himself against Burnley.

BonZ February 7 at 9:56 pm

I got rid for Etherington GW25……Villa may miss 2 GWs & his price will drop, combine with his lack of creativity in CM – i think he is defo worth getting rid now.

Kim February 7 at 9:57 pm

They have a great fixtures 29,30,30 and 21!

Kim February 7 at 9:58 pm

31

Morrissey1986 February 7 at 9:59 pm

Let’s not talk about Milner in DGW.

Dai February 7 at 10:01 pm

such painful memories

Kim February 7 at 10:06 pm

got a wooping 2 points last time from him ;)

BonZ February 7 at 10:00 pm

yes but he’s not doing great in CM role…….he can be re-bought after his price drops if thought he deserves a recall. GW29 may be cancelled as its FA Cup – if they beat Palces the will miss 2 GWS!!

maltasi February 7 at 10:02 pm

i got rid 2 games ago with a view to coming back in after gw30..hopefully he may have dropped in price too!

Henry Hill February 9 at 12:53 am

I’m still in agony trying to finalise my 11….done my free transfer, but shud i keep anelka? take a 4pt hit for Drogba or a 4 point hit for Adebayo (who wud partner Tevez for 1 week b4 Drogba comes in for gw27).

So many questions but I’m also torn as to who to satart cohen (DGW) or Duff (v Burnley)??

Fishy February 7 at 9:58 pm

would get rid of anelka for drogs if u can

Soup Or Man February 7 at 9:54 pm

Which 1 to play out of Dunne Baird and Ivan?

ykwa09 February 7 at 9:57 pm

baird easy one

XTwing February 7 at 9:58 pm

Baird if he starts. I am playing Huges this week.

Johnny Unitas February 7 at 9:58 pm

Baird, Fulham at home, Villa will not keep a clean sheet against Man U I don’t think (although Dunne is the bonus points king most of the time if it is going to be tight) and Chelsea will concede to Everton I feel, I am going with Baird myself anyway

kamdaraji February 7 at 9:54 pm

have gera and gary cahill who are injured. planning on taking them out for similar priced players. maybe for 2 dgw players but don’t know . any suggestions?

ykwa09 February 7 at 9:58 pm

shawcross/nzog would be ideal if u have the leftover $

Morrissey1986 February 7 at 9:58 pm
Fishy February 7 at 9:59 pm

what do people think about lampard i know drogba is back, but could he perform, if he done nothing today he would of gone but…

Morrissey1986 February 7 at 10:01 pm

Saving him until the Wolves while Fabs and Arshavin and Gerrard have been quiet I have no urge to sell him.

BonZ February 7 at 10:03 pm

I thot FFL was excellent 2say – i never been his biggest fan – (obviously appreciate his charm with goals) but today his all round game from box to box was top class!!

viper006 February 7 at 10:01 pm

lads i gotta decide now

Adebayor or drogba for zamora???? wat yee tink??

BigUps February 7 at 10:16 pm

I’d go Drogs, but I must admit that I’ve been nothing but burnt on DGW transfers so far.

Aries21 February 7 at 10:03 pm

Tough decisions this week:
1. Who to captain, N’Zog or Tevez?
2. And who to play, Evra, Baird, Cashley, G. Cahill (1 to bench)?

Dai February 7 at 10:10 pm

got to be Tevez c surely?

which to sub is tricky…………

Dai February 7 at 10:13 pm

anyone think its worth a punt on Mcarthy for the DGW? I can’t afford nzog.

RoysBrotherJohnson February 7 at 10:14 pm

if you could only have one for the double, bearing in mind fixtures afterwards, etherington or nzog?

BigUps February 7 at 10:15 pm

Lamps -> Gerrard (long term move)
Piqu -> Drogba
Ivanovic -> Shorey/Boyetta (will Boyetta get minutes?)
Modric -> McCarthy

Costs me 8 points.

BigUps February 7 at 10:17 pm

Thats Boyata, sorry.
