Sunday’s Dugout Discussion

Loosen the trousers – today we can look forward to a banquet of Premier League football to accompany the Sunday Roast. There are no less than five games coming up, starting with Blackburn’s local derby with Bolton at Ewood Park at 12pm. Aston Villa and Burnley kick-off a couple of hours later at Vlla Park, followed by Fulham vs Birmingham and Man City vs Liverpool at 3pm. The day’s proceedings are then brought to a bumpy end on the troubled surface at the DW stadium as Wigan host Harry’s Spurs at 4.15.

Dugout Discussion via our live chatroom will be open throughout. There will be two rooms open today, so you can choose your destination according to the “vibe”. You never know, we might see such a frenzy of points, we made need to cordon off a chill out room.

Need a lot of 0:0′s today!

  2. teddy says:

I’m banking on Milner, Ade, N-Zog & Baird.

  3. PDM Allstars says:

    30th >>> 31st :-(

Hoping for a better Sunday / Monday ;-)

  4. Nastradamus says:

Hey guys.Going to spice up my defense for the final stretch.

    Need some advice

Of these 5 defenders – Baird, Ivanovic, Ridgwell, Nelsen, Dawson

Which 2 would u get rid of?

Im thinkin Baird/Nelsen for Collins/Gallas(or Baines or Insua)

    Thoughts

  5. gooner dave says:

Need roddy to come good today

  6. Tsar-D says:

I will get rid of Nelsen myself just because of GW 29 which could be a nightmare. If Stote, Spurs and Villa all win it will leave a small set of teams to select from. If Bolton lose their FA cup game they will have a DGW?

    • IronMike says:

Blackburn’s fixtures get considerably tougher from now aswell, I’ll be upgrading Olsson soon I think.

    • Qubit says:

Nelsen was going for me last week, but Lamps injury forced me to keep him for 1 more week. He’s out for me, likely for an Everton defender at a guess – most likely Baines.

  7. gooner dave says:

cheaper option need to get rid of evra, served me well but now its time…

    • Tsar-D says:

Can you survive until after GW29? If not then look at Liverpool, Arsenal and Everton.

      • gooner dave says:

nah needs to go now, arsenal dont fancy got verm already thinking maybe carragher. Also worth getting on the bendy bus?-for roddy need to get shot of some wigan players, and its time to start now.

        • Tsar-D says:

I didn’t buy the bendy bus yesterday and I’ve already been shown some ??? marks. Not sure.

          • gooner dave says:

me either if truth be told, however good differential in my league, can always bench him too, and frees up a bit of cash that desperatly needs to go into the midfield.

        • MFaulkner says:

I’m getting Carragher for Ivanovic this week. Insua & Agger seem to be the more popular options, but both are under Rafatation (haven’t said that in a while!) threat considering Skrtel and Aurelio were first choice last season, and have been hampered by injury since. He’s also actually getting bonus points – 5 in 8 games.

Roddy seems bang out of form, and Arsenal’s fixtures are pretty attractive. Rodallega -> Bendtner seems like a sound move to me.

          • gooner dave says:

good man, cheers. Now just need to get through this GW with no further injuries and im laughing as ive got a plan!!!(how many bleeding times ive said that this season?)

  8. Fray Bentos says:

ha! Pedersen just threw the ball in the bet!

  9. jimnastics says:

I could do with Lee doing absolutely nothing today, so I don’t regret playing Bent isntead of him…

  10. jakemu says:

Are arsenal players worth getting in next week or wait until the Burnley game?

  11. gooner dave says:

speaking as an Arsenal fan probably would be worth a shot getting in delap and then watching while arsenal defence stands in amazment everytime he takes a throw in. (similar to the drogba V arsenal defence phenomena)

  12. pyrohippy says:

    Nelsen struggling. the bell end

  13. Roonatov says:

    Nelsen going of

  14. Fray Bentos says:

    shite nelson off injured!

    • Fray Bentos says:

damn I’m probably going to have to make 3 transfers this week now to field 11 players!

      • Warlock says:

I took 12 hit poits for this…GW, but so far dropped only 1 place in the world rankings…you never know…

        • Fray Bentos says:

yeah but from the players I’ve got, upcoming fixtures and players needing to be replaced, I don’t see them bringing in big points. I might just take a 4 point and field 10

          • Warlock says:

Don’t know mate…will take 8 hit points for next GW as well…just to field 11.
Think it’s very important to have 11 players playing…
Of course assuming that the transfers are good…

            • Fray Bentos says:

okay what do you think to this, at present I’m contemplating

              out; Tomkins, Etherington
in; Lee, Fox (both have a double coming up)

              but could also do

              out; Nelson
              in; Distin or Rickets

I’ll wait to see if Bolton get knocked out the cup, and if so and their DGW is confirmed will lean towards Rickets in the short term

              sound like a plan?

              • Warlock says:

Sounds good to me…good to get one or two Burnley players with favourable fixtures…and Bolton/Everton player should give you a good return of points….
Only one thing – not so sure about defenders…

      • Tsar-D says:

At least I’m lucky that I was going to transfer him out this week anyway. But not happy that I’ve possibly lost 5 points now.

    • STS11 says:

      I hope Lee scores now

  15. Roonatov says:

This game has the potential to usurp Sunderland Stoke as Worst Game of the Season 09/10

  16. Roonatov says:

MGP assist but i could be mistaken

  17. superronniewhelan says:

    kalinic goal

  18. FantasyPro says:

Who do people think will score most to end of seaon out of fab / lamp??????

  19. FantasyPro says:

Have f*cked up big styles not doing the switch this week, lamp selling price down fab buying price up!!!

    • STS11 says:

That’s the way it goes sometimes. I got lucky, made the switch early during the gameweek to catch price rises: Lamp and Tev out for Drog and Fab … feeling quite smug about it now

        • STS11 says:

I’m behind in my league so needed to take a risk. Could quite easily have been Fab who got a virus and Drogba who needed to go to Argentina to see his newborn. Then I would’ve been in all sorts of trouble

          • superronniewhelan says:

would be interesting if drogba went to argentina for birth of his child

    • Tsar-D says:

Don’t feel so down. Look at all the people who made the mistake taking in Diaby early and had to make another. Who knows, Fabs could get injured Vs. Stoke and you will be smiling again. But I hope not.

  20. Cornelius says:

Just relegate these 2 teams and be done with it.

  21. how did bolton look in the first 1/2 half?

  22. mo says:

    To Frank on fantasytools.co.uk

some strange happenings on the prize falls page, Lampard, Cole and Tevez have target ntis of 13m, 11m and 4m respectivly. Pretty sure thats not correct!

  23. Rambo says:

    bridge-> vermaelin
    valencia->pienarr

    -4

what do you think? to field

    hart

    verm
    dann
    hughes

    pienarr
    lampard
    fabregas
    taylor
    n zogbia

    drogba(c)
    bendtner

    ta

    • Cornelius says:

Why not just do Valencia to Pienaar?

      • Rambo says:

that was the plan til nelson injury, also gw29 in mind and arsenal and everton have the best upcoming fixtures…. otherwise would mean playing one of

        nelson(inj doubt plus liv away)
        wilkinson(red card)
        or
bridge(away at chelsea drogba will score several imo)

  24. Warlock says:

Any opinion on Burnley fixtures…was thinking to bring in Fletcher or Eagles…cheap as a chips, and might bring in some points as well…
    GW28 – POR
    GW29 – ars, STK
    GW30 – WLV
    GW31 – wig
    GW32 – BLA

In GW 29 half of the teams might not even play…and Burnley will have 2…

    • Cornelius says:

I’ve brought in Fox so hope he stays in the starting XI for a not bad run of fixtures. Also, freeing up funds for the strike force of Drogba, Rooney and Torres.

  25. gaspar says:

Aston Villa: Friedel, Cuellar, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Ashley Young, Milner, Petrov, Downing, Agbonlahor, Heskey
Subs: Guzan, Luke Young, Sidwell, Carew, Delfouneso, Delph, Beye

Burnley: Jensen, Mears, Carlisle, Cort, Fox, Eagles, Cork, Bikey, McDonald, Nugent, Fletcher
Subs: Weaver, Duff, Paterson, Elliott, Blake, Nimani N’galou, Thompson

  26. BonZ says:

bolton double sub on 59 mins……taylor & muamba off needed just 1mo minute!!

I reckon Coyle knows some1 in his mini league got em pair…..

  27. Zippy says:

Has anyone heard how long Diaby is potentially out for?

  28. Nelson you w**kbag!!

  29. zephi says:

    Is is better to do:

Scharner / Hughes > Insua (no hit)

    or

Fletcher > Kuyt and Tevez > Bendtner or (4 point hit)

    • haxman says:

All aboard the Bendy bus then is it?

      First stop – frustration.

      • SammyC says:

First stop was a goal and 6 points yesterday wasn’t it? You just stick to Hugo I-haven’t-scored-this-year Rodallega!

        • haxman says:

Watch him score today :) Or maybe that should read :(

Rodallega was just for the dgw, no other reason.

Nice score mate – why didn’t you have a link to your team for so long?

          • SammyC says:

Thanks. No particular reason really, didn’t want my comments to be judged on how well/poorly I was doing I guess

    • zephi says:

      another option:

Fletcher and Modric > Kuyt and Whelan (4 point hit)

      • zephi says:

basically I am thinking kuyt higher priority that liverpool defender for short term….anyone agree?
