Sunday’s Dugout Discussion

Loosen the trousers – today we can look forward to a banquet of Premier League football to accompany the Sunday Roast. There are no less than five games coming up, starting with Blackburn’s local derby with Bolton at Ewood Park at 12pm. Aston Villa and Burnley kick-off a couple of hours later at Vlla Park, followed by Fulham vs Birmingham and Man City vs Liverpool at 3pm. The day’s proceedings are then brought to a bumpy end on the troubled surface at the DW stadium as Wigan host Harry’s Spurs at 4.15.

Dugout Discussion via our live chatroom will be open throughout. There will be two rooms open today, so you can choose your destination according to the “vibe”. You never know, we might see such a frenzy of points, we made need to cordon off a chill out room.

  2. gooner dave says:

    Carragher for evra
    bentner for roddy
    worth the 4 pointer?

    • nomar says:

I am also considering 4 pt hit Rodallega for Bendtner now. There’s only so long you can keep a striker who does naff all every week.

    • Big_Stu says:

carragher looks like a good move but im still not convinced by bendtner. maybe saha instead

      • gooner dave says:

Cheers lads I’ll wait and see how week pans out (ref injury and so on), and if all goes to plan then get carragher and bendtner/Saha in but either way roddys gone, got to get rid of my Wigan lot

  3. d1g2w3 says:

  6. horlicks says:

Solako said Modric was the best player on the park….

And Adam johnson did well tooo….Surely summit?

  7. Bring on Tuesday! Utd rout

  8. Nikola says:

In need to sell some one so I could have 11 playing in the next GW even at the cost of -4.

How does Valencia for Kuyt sounds to you?

  9. dbronaldo says:

superdorrans if ur around well done in bringing in bendtner for rodellega….may follow you a week later ;)

  10. Steve says:

Palyvochenko Givet and Faubert for fabs rooney and evra.. thats my transfers for the week.. 8 point hit, i think its worth it.. ;)

  11. newplayer says:

planning insua in richards out worth doing early incase or price rise? hopping insua wina play in romania as he neva played first leg

  12. danisrob says:

    Best defender for 4mill?

Worth taking a punt on Fox?

  13. OldSchool says:

Maybe it is time for Steven Gerrard.. Valencia and Evra out!

  14. MFaulkner says:

    bonus in.

    • MFaulkner says:

      apart from Spurs.

      • MFaulkner says:

        And now it’s in.
        2 for Dawson. Good times.

      • Andy says:

Dear Antonio Valencia, please score 12 goals so I have any chance of beating MFaulkner on tuesday.

        Yours sincerely,

        this weeks loser.

        • MFaulkner says:

All my differentials did the business this week. Hard luck.

If only you’d had Givet rather than Samba eh?

          • Andy says:

I don’t mind, I fully expected to lose so it’s all gravy. You’re having a venerable storm of a February though, not bad at all.

Oh well, I’ll come back strong and win my next match… oh, wait, I’m currently considering a spend another 8 points. Maybe not.

Your boy Duff is also frustrating… he’s doing too well, I think I may just have to keep him now.

            • MFaulkner says:

He’s inherited all the Dempsey bonus points, and looks strong cutting inside. FPL seem to have a thing for players like that – Eagles, Duff & N’Zog are all big favourites now.

Those latter two are probably the best bargain mids you’re going to get right now, so I’m not sure who you’re planning to replace them with, unless it’s actually an upgrade.

And you’ll never catch me if you keep taking those point hits.

              • JWF says:

Your score this month is crazy good. You got yourself some serious green arrows. Very nice indeed.

                • MFaulkner says:

It’s a welcome piece of from after almost half a season of inertia. I guess there was always going to be movement at one stage, I’m just glad it’s up and not down.

    • SuperDunny says:

      Disappointing for me…

  15. jimnastics says:

For a split second FPL had taken 2 off Milners assists off… I nearly went apesh*t.

  16. danisrob says:

7 points for Dawson as a replacement off my bench nice.

63 with Evra and Rooney (c) to play.

  17. Gargamel says:

Bit strange bonus in the Liverpool game. Thought Lucas gave the ball away too much. Preferred De Jong and Zabaleta.

Not that I care really. On 60 with a 4 pointer and Valencia+Rooney(C) to play. Should be a green arrow I guess.

  18. Shahriyar says:

just like to say that i’m so happy bale and downing did well. chech the link to know why.

  19. kathers says:

    Great day today.
Olsson, Dawson, Gera, Milner = 34 points!

  20. kavacomber says:

OK, pitiful GW returns thus far – I should have taken the 8pt hit on Drogba and Bendtner. I still have over 10M in bank. Dilema is this:

How did Torres do in the game today agility-wise?
Is Ramsey likely to play this GW with Diaby still out or will Denilson get start?

    I’m thinking of 8pt hit:
    >OUT – Rosicky, Fletcher & Rodallega
    >IN – Gerrard, Ramsey & Torres

Should give me this GW team:
    Hart
Ridgewell, Johnson, Smalling or Stearman, (Tomkins)
    Gerrard, Fab, Lee, O’Hara, Ramsey
    Torres, Adebayor (Rooney)

    • newplayer says:

how much ramsey? sure you can get player as cheap who will def play. McCarthy at wigan for example. other 2 should def do them

    • MFaulkner says:

wouldn’t trust Ramsey. Diaby will start when fit, and Denilson may well get another chance.

And I wouldn’t get Gerrard and Torres. Liverpool aren’t exactly free scoring, and quite frankly, Gerrard’s been shit.

      • kavacomber says:

That’s the prob. When is Diaby due (I’ve read Monday is time for news but pee’d with points and feel the need to fix ASAP to save the keyboard on this laptop!)

Liver’ duo have to hit the road running now if they want form for lead up to the WC.

  21. teddy says:

    BPs are in!

  22. SuperDorrans says:

52 with Rooney (c) & Evra to play, average really.

  23. Soup Or Man says:

    Bale 3 BPs official.

  24. Soup Or Man says:

    Gera 3
    Duff 2
    Zamora 1

    • dbronaldo says:

very much one step forward one step back for me………..3 weeks ago buy gera sell o hara…….gera gets 1 point o hara gets 5
this week sell gera to buy drogba and get o hara ……same again but in reverse……….im cursed ! :)

  25. BonZ says:

my fpl is only showing 3 pts bale…..can I assume pitch had 2 pts and divot had 1 point?

  26. cheggars123 says:

    Where Modric assist gone??

    • MFaulkner says:

did he get benched again? (been out most of the day, don’t get mad)

Harry still won’t start Pavlyuchenko ahead of Crouch, yet will blatantly take the credit for his brace by ‘keeping him on his toes’ or some similar idioms to that effect.

      • haxman says:

Harry is an idiot who has his favourites and that won’t change.

To be fair, his subs did make a big difference today though.

        • MFaulkner says:

Two ways of looking at that I guess.

          1) Genius for using his subs to such a great effect.

          2) Idiot for not starting them.

He did manage his team to a 3-0 away win, so I guess there’s no need to hate.

  27. Soup Or Man says:

    Cuellar 1
    Milner 2
    Downing 3

  28. 46 points with vander saar, valencia and rooney(c). Is the green arrow on?

  29. teddy says:

So, 57 with Evra and Rooney (c) to play again.

One of my minileague rivals will get a big boost when the auto update subs out his captain Etherington and Brings in Zamora with the armband going to either Fabregas (value) or Insua (form). That’s a 12 or 16 point swing.

  30. TheBlueOrder says:

Gera 3 BPs ya beauty – slightly made up for benching Dawson and Gomes – Doh!
