The Watchlist – Henrique Hilario

With Petr Cech expected to be absent from first-team duties for “three to four weeks” following the calf injury sustained in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Inter Milan at the San Siro, the job between the posts for Carlo Ancelotti’s team will fall now to Henrique Hilario.

Chelsea are still fighting on three fronts for trophies and will be hoping Hilario can emulate the performances of Cech, who along with Jose Reina, has 12 clean sheets, the most of any Premiership keeper so far this season.

As this goalkeeper stats table shows, Cech has faced less than three shots on goal per game, the lowest of any keeper in the league, which is testimony to the performances of the Chelsea defence this season.

Taking his place behind the Chelsea back four, Hilario could now see a decent amount of fantasy investment, coming in at the bargain price of just £4.9m in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. He will be plunged straight into Premier League action action this Saturday lunchtime, where the Blues host Man City in the weekend’s early kick-off…

However, the league leaders then miss the following gameweek due to FA Cup duties, but are currently looking at a double fixtures in gameweek 31, providing they beat Stoke at the first time of asking in the cup. Indeed, Chelsea’s next five gameweeks currently read MCY, (blank), WHM, bla & por, AVL, though the Portsmouth game will be the one that’s postponed if Stoke do indeed take them to a replay in the cup.

With Cech confirmed as absent for three to four weeks, it looks as though, at best, investors would get three, maybe four league starts from Hilario. That may still tempt some as a short-term investment, who could then hope for complications and a prolonged absence for Cech. The only doubt that will nag at potential investors is the effect that the absence of Cech will have on the Chelsea back four.

Will SAF play Evans this weekend?

    • Immt says:

is this a trick question? man utd have no fixtures this gameweek.

      • The Business says:

        LOL.

Sorry meant next weekend. Doesn’t really matter I guess will worry about it then.

        • Immt says:

i guess it depends on rio’s injury status. many factors will play their part during/after the carling cup final, so yes, let’s worry about it later :D

  2. ChooChoo says:

Hilario would be nice, but i got other things to worry about.. Fielding 11 for next gw and gw 29 for instance! :P

Help much apriciated, want to cath up on a mate wich is top 2k, im just around top 5k..

    1: Hart
    2: Huth
    3: Hughes | Missing gw 29 -> for Birmdefender?
    4: Hangeland | Missing gw 29 -> for Birmdefender?

    5: Fabregas
    6: Kuyt(C)
    8: Etherington | Injured?
    9: Duff | Missing gw 29 -> Bol/wig midfielder?

    10: Drogba
    11: Tevez -> | Missing gw 29 -> for some1?

    Subs:
    12: Myhill
13: Olsson Missing gw 29, dont want him out
    14: Evra – Missing gw 27
15: Rooney Missing gw 27 dont want him out

    3.7 in ze bank

    • ChooChoo says:

      + Mc Carthy | Injured?

    • Immt says:

i’d probably look to rectify the situation of 3 fulham players and 0 everton players, as their forthcoming fixtures are of great contrast. i wouldn’t have 2 BIR defenders in, as you already have hart… their recent form hasn’t been convincing. maybe you can consider 1 ARS defender? they got great fixtures ahead and no heavyweight opponents for the remainder of the season, as they’ve played the rest of the big 4 already.

  3. Joe says:

    Sorensen, Hart
    Gallas, Evra, Baird, Olsson, Shawcross
    Fabregas, Milner, McCarthy, Modric, Collison
    Drogba, Rooney, Tevez

As it stands I will have at least five players missing this week (Gallas, Evra, Milner, Collison, Rooney). I am thinking I will play the WC either this week or within the next two weeks (no later than just before GW30), in order to get rid of some people who are playing but are not really super-useful at the moment in FPL terms IMO, e.g. Baird, Modric, Collison and others.

So I guess my questions are, is my current plan good? Is it worth doing a 4pt hit this week (e.g. Collison to Eagles and Gallas to Baines) to just get a full XI playing, or should I follow some other strategy?

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for the help. :)

  4. P-a-H says:

    Hi,

    I’ve got 5.7 in the bank…

    Do I sell Valencia/Nzog/Duff/Lee for

    Kuyt or Gerrard?

  5. Don says:

garrido out for carragher. any objection?

  6. little rooey says:

Have I missed something? why is Adebayor suspended until 21 March?

  7. little rooey says:

Ah…Cheers, missed all the mid-week action. Good response time for this hour!

  8. goblinz says:

will alexander be back for the weekend?>

  9. Evs says:

Ive decided not to take a points hit this GW, and run with this 11…

    Hart,
    Dawson, Dann, Ivan, Baird
    Fab, McCarthy, A Johnson, Pienaar
    Bent, Drogba

    Bench: Robbo, Milner, Rooney, Evra

Should I do another transfer and take a 4ptr?

    • DGoal says:

      is McCarthy playing?

    • ToonTom says:

Id stick with it mate-I think I am….you playing Mccarthy and Baird too-same as me..feel your worry!

    • teddy says:

Well, with Milner Drogba and Ivan on your bench next week, I guess Baird’s on his way out? In which case any additional changes you want to make next week would also mean 4pts, in which case… would it be beneficial to do it early.

eg, if you’re tempted/planning to get in any Everton, Liverpool or Burnley players in addition to who you’re getting in for Baird, would it be worrh doing those changes now?

      • Evs says:

I thought about thats one Teddy, and I maybe forced to do 2 or even 3 changes next week.

The players I have in mind, dont really have better games to the boys I got in this week… Much of a Muchness?! (shit games this week and next imo)

SO, im gonna hang fire be “risk adverse” and see what comes out of this week, injuriesm, bans (song?) etc before doing few trades next week,

        Makes sense(ish)?

  10. ToonTom says:

    Guys-

    Lamps-Gerarrd for 4 point hit?

    • Warky Talky says:

not this week surely? Lamps at home etc.

do it for free next week when Chels dont have a game?

      • DGoal says:

        not necessary lamps is fit

        • ToonTom says:

That was my thinking but as Teddy has rightly pointed out above if I have to make changes next week would it be better to do them now? I’ll have Baird, Duff, Dunne, Drogs, and Lamps not playing next week so its a hit either way, wondering if Stevie might outscore lamps but it would have to be by more than 4!

          • Warky Talky says:

i’d say no. If Chels win he’s guaranteed a couple of bonus points, he’s on pennas and i can see Chels scoring a couple on sat. Gerrard hardly been on top form of late.

dont mind the change, just dont think worth it this week

          • DGoal says:

I think Gerrard will definitely play a game of his class against BLA

    • teddy says:

Definitely! With 5 AWOL GW29 you’ll have to take a hit next week if not this. You’ve got Drogba so spread your bets. I’d even be tempted to captain him.

      • ToonTom says:

Haha totally different points of view…I agree teddy if i get him Ill prob try capt on him as a different move but am scared as City looking poor too…Lamps could be safest option…WT you are right he could get a haul-both could!…next few weeks tough for everyone it looks like…balance hits/points

Baird out next weeka long with Lamps if not this week…Baines ina nd then Evra out after wolves is a more med plan so far…

  11. thehodge says:

is it worth a risk to captain either torres/kuyt?
    thanks in advance

    • DGoal says:

Kuyt more likely if you have Drogba even better

      • Jafalad says:

what about Gerrard? 1 goal in euro cuppy:is he back inform? Could swap lamps for gerrard. lamps doesn’t score much when drog plays.

      • teddy says:

If in doubt, go for Drogba.

He’s been by far the most consistent performer this season You wouldn’t go far wrong captaining him every week.

        • ToonTom says:

Agreed Drogs safest and is so darn consistwent..plus when you dont pick him you know he’ll definately score big!

  12. Warky Talky says:

I take it Kuyt was just rested last night? Also what are the chances Torres starts on Sat? Kuyt much less attractive if he’s stuk out on the right!

    • DGoal says:

I’ll say 80% he’ll starts but If he scores early first half and he doesn’t 2 half at around 70min he will be replaced by probably Babel for tactics as we know of RAFA

  13. N5 says:

I am planning to play this team:
    Hart
    Ridgewell Ivanovic Ricketts Dawson
    Fabregas Taylor Duff N’Zogbia
    Bent Drogba

    Sorensen Evra Valencia Rooney

, bench Drogba, Ivanovic and Dawson next week and probably bring O’Hara in for Duff.

Does that make sense or should I do another transfer (and take a point hit)?

    • teddy says:

      Looks good to me.

Keep an eye out for news on Cahill. He apparently was making good “progress” and was due for a scan yesterday. No idea how close to recovery he is, but there’s the threat of displacing Ricketts.

      • N5 says:

Oh, thanks a lot, I wasn’t aware of that… It would be highly annoying if he came back soon, because I only got Ricketts in this week.

  14. Looking for a few ideas on changes to my team this week

    Hart/Soren
    Ivan,Hughes,Dawson,A.COLE,(Evra)
    Fab,Lee,O’Hara,N’zog,(Val)
    Drogba,Bent,(Rooney)
0.9 in bank, 1 free trade.
I wouldn’t mind taking a hit if its worthwhile.
Any ideas would be appreciated :)

  15. Jimi says:

looking at bent in for tevez and pienaar in for milner.
should I spend 4 points to bring a defender in? thinking long term.
if so, any defender who would it be?

  16. P-a-H says:

    Keep Milner long term…

  17. Jafalad says:

    Options this week:
    1.Evra->Ricketts
    2.Lampard>Gerrard
    3.Nani->Piernaar
    4. Summat else I hadn’t thought of probably involving someone from Burnley

    1,2 or 3?

  18. Warky Talky says:

Should i lose Valencia (lose 0.2m) or Milner (lose 0.6m) this week? Seems wrong to keep Milner for 2 blank weeks but i do want im long term and not that bothered about Valencia!

    • Jafalad says:

there seems to be a dearth of decent midparkers in that 6-8 mill range, ay!

      • DGoal says:

I don’t have Milner I have Dunne i’m keeping him and i’ll get milner before double

        • ToonTom says:

Id keep Milner WT definately. Valencia inconsistent and not nailed on starter, you could keep him and get nothing or 1/2 pointers when his games start again, plus you’ll def want Milner till the end of the season once they back playing…

  19. Entourage says:

Just brought in Gerrard for this week!

  20. boney says:

Drogba or fab for captain?I’m really confused..help!!I knew drogba is leading the poll, but thinking fab will outscore him.pls any thoughts appreciated..if possible pls explain why

  21. BobB says:

What on earth is going on – United’s golden three all fell last night despite the fact they have Wolves in GW29….No-one from Villa fell despite the fact they have no game for the next two weeks. Eh???!!!

    • DGoal says:

well you don’t want Valencia, he is inconsistent surely you’ll keep Rooney and Evra or Nani

  22. OldSchool says:

It is frustrating to try to quess the Burnleys starting line-up after 5-2 defeat. If just the line-up remains the same I would go for Bikey.

  23. why cant I see teh watchlist? Can everyone else see it?
