Sunday’s Dugout Discussion
Spurs and Everton get our Sunday started down at the Lane with a 1pm kick-off, followed by Liverpool vs Blackburn and Sunderland vs Fulham at three. Around all that, we also have the largely academic Carling Cup Final to absorb.
Early team news from the Lane finds Redknapp starting with Pavlyuchenko and Defoe up front. Modric and Kranjcar both start in midfield and Bassong comes in for the injured Ledley King. Bale keeps Assou-Ekotto warming the bench. As for Everton, Anichebe and Rodwell both get starts with Saha strangely “not in the squad”. and Donovan benched. Yobo and Jagielka help to make Everton’s bench recognisable again as Distin and Heintinga take up the centre-back roles.

no ratty saha. excellent. glad that i went for the dane instead. still, very cross about the horror 10-minute cameo’s made by my other two risk transfers this week – taylor for bolton and eagles for burnley. either play them for the whole match or not at all! don’t these permier league managers know anything?
Eagles and Taylor have been massive rotation risks recently – as seen by their minutes played in the last few weeks, and Saha’s always been one of the most injury prone players in the premiership. Just avoid players like these 3, it’s simple

I know what you mean! The thought of not giving Rooney the captains armband worries me, but seeming as Fabs is home and its against Burnley while Arsenal are flying and going for the title makes me think it may be a high scoring game.

after having a couple of stonking last weeks just looked at my team and i have somehow contrived to have only 7 players playing this week. every single one of the buggers i can sell will probably cost more than i have to get back. did 2 transfers last week so dont have one in the bank. dont really mind points hits so radical surgery suggestions welcomed as well.

No, he’s right. A few years is an exaggeration.
You can see him missing about a year though, similar length of time to Diaby & Eduardo.
Such a shame, as it probably will take him a couple of years to get back to his best.
He has time on his side which is a good thing.
