Villa Double In Danger, While Another Is Added

The Premier League fixture schedule has seen yet more new situations and scenarios arise today.

Aston Villa have announced that if they emerge from the Madejski Stadium with only a draw in the FA Cup this weekend then their fixture with Wigan in gameweek 30 will have to be postponed to make way for the replay.

The possible draw would mean that both Aston Villa and Wigan would no longer have a double fixture in gameweek 30 as currently expected. We would then have to wait for the match to be scheduled further down the fantasy calendar once more.

That’s not all. Sunderland have confirmed that their trip to Aston Villa, postponed due to the original FA Cup fixture, has been rescheduled into gameweek 31. That puts the pair amongst the already sizeable group of teams partaking in a double spell of fixtures in that gamewweek. It means that if Villa can avoid a draw with Reading this weekend, they will have a very tasty four games in two gameweeks…

about to pull the trigger on an 8 pt hit to for IN baines, lee & sorensen; OUT Dunn, Baird & Given.

Need to take another hit to field a full XI. Cohen is the obvious candidate to ship out but dont see anyone valued at 4.4 whos worth the hit.
Other option is two shelve someone out of out of Ivan, Drog & Tevez.

    Thoughts most welcome…

    Good morning all.
    Any news for Diaby’s injury?

    • metalhead says:

It was confusing as Wenger started off by saying “there is a little, little chance that Diaby could be available again too.” and then said 50:50. I am assuming that the former is the case and Diaby will not play

    • Chill Pill says:

I doubt there will be anymore news today so you will have to go with your instinct.

I shall be playing him, I’ve heard all these 50/50, 60/40 etc before and very rarely do they not make it and with Song being available on Tue then Diaby is needed more on Sat then to be saved for then.

    • Ty_Durden67 says:

Don’t have him but think Arsene really needs him & will do what it takes to get him fit – I see him play but that’s just me

  3. ToonTom says:

To those still around can you quickly tell me what think of these planned transfers…

    this week
    Baird-Baines
Lamps-Cahill (if fit-if not 11 million or less mid)

    Next week
    Evra-Collins
    Duff-Milner

    Thoughts please gentlemen?

    • Very good – what about A Young, 8.3?

      • ToonTom says:

Cheers mate, just wanted to know if anything silly in there! Dont like loosing Lamps but i think to get the Everton/Villa players in its worth it…

Cant have A Young plus Milner/Dunne/Collins which is what Id have, so Ill stick but thanks mate, Young not like last year alas!

  4. new2leeds says:

    Quick Poll:
Distin or Piennaar in for Duff? (4point hit for 11th player)

  5. Duke Special says:

    advice please!

have made 2 changes this week (4 pt hit):
tevez to bendtner, huddlestone to valencia

both figure in my medium-to-long term plans and help me field a full-ish team this week. Hudd needed to go anyway cos of injury.

I have a grand plan(!) to get villa players in next week but I want to make one more change this week to help field an 11 and free funds for next week. the starting point for that plan is one more 4-point hit this wek, either:

    agger or ivanovic to ricketts

just got agger in last week so won’t “lose” any value but he’s doubtful for this week. ivanovic i’ve had for a while. really torn and can’t separate them on future fixtures either. help!

    • Well, for what it’s worth, I believe Liverpool’s fixtures to be easier than Chelsea’s – and their manager is now in full defensive mode!

  6. alonbe says:

    Shawx, Dawson > Ridgewell, Distin?
i know getting ricketts is better for this gw, but looking at the gw31 doubles ill get there much better prepared (hart, ridgewell, distin, dunne, ivanovic, milner, young, pienaar)

    good plan?

[see my theory as to why distin is a better option than baines, right here: http://www.fantasyfootballscou.....ent-492760 ]

    • new2leeds says:

I agree Distin is better option and am probably going to do Olsson to Distin

Do you reckon Rodwell or Pienaar for Duff? (See my thinking above)

  7. dz1984 says:

Whats everyone’s thoughs on these transfers?

    GW29 – Drogba –> Torres
    GW30 – N’zogbia & Modric –> Milner & Young
    GW31 – Craddock –> Ridgewell, Torres –> Drogba

Not sure whether it’s worth getting Ashley Young over a Villa defender or not…would mean losing Modric but Villa have a possible 4 games in 2 weeks

  8. bbor005 says:

Two questions, and brief ones too…

    1. I’ve got both Duff and Modric in my team – neither of them playing this week. Is it worth getting rid of one of them this week, getting Bowyer instead, and then transferring the other out next week to get Milner?

    2. What’s the word on Saha? He already cost me points last week when paired with Drogba, this week I’d pair him with Rooney but if he’s likely to not play I’d be tempted to take the 4 point hit and get Bendtner in, especially considering Arsenal’s run-in.

Thanks for the advice guys :)

    • Milan says:

Modrić has great fixtures short term, Duff more consistant FPL point scorer, but Bowyer considering his upcoming double looks like a good bet. I’d lose Modrić only if you need cash.

    • Chill Pill says:

      1. Nani, if you can’t put in a double that you will play in 31 then don’t waste a move, go with someone that has a good fixture and a chance of a big haul.

      2. No idea.

      • bbor005 says:

@Milan – good point about Modric. I have a feeling Duff has given the best of his season already, will probably ship him out.

@ Chill Pill – Very hesitant to go for Nani to be honest. He’s subject to rotation, is inconsistent and I hate the player IRL. Plus he wouldn’t save me any money over Duff and I’d like to work towards getting Milner in over the following GW. Hence me thinking about Bowyer.

This whole Saha will-he won’t-he saga is doing my head in. I reckon Bendtner is likely to make up the 4 point hit against Burnley if I swap them, right?

  9. Commander Makara says:

How many point hits are poeple taking this GW?

  10. hayden77 says:

    Ok!
Hart (Sorensen), Craddock, Ridgewell, Ricketts, Vermaelen, (Dunne), Fab(C), Kuyt, Lee, Nzogbia, (Milner), Rooney, Bendtner, (Drogba).

1 transfer done this week already.

Was toying with idea of getting Bale (or even Collins) in for Vermaelen next week, then gives me cash for Lampard for Kuyt. Some say Lamp and Drogs together too much but with DGW I think it may work.

Alternatives are A Young for Kuyt next week for DDGWs, or even Valencia this week but 4 point hit.

    Ideas welcome!! Thanks

  11. TrueBlue says:

Hey chaps, this is my first post here and I thought I’d start by introducing my team –

    Gomez/Sorenson
    Carr, Ivanovic, Olson, Rafael, Wilkinson.
Fabregas, Lampard, Duff, Diaby, O Hara.
    Drogba, Tevez, Rooney.

I have two free transfers this week but am still undecided. I’m probs going to bring in Bendtner for Tevez, and Rickets for Olson this week. This will then free up enough cash for Milner for Duff, and Collins for Rafael next week.

    What do you all think?

    Cheers guys =D

    • Tatty Bojangles says:

I’d be tempted not to bring in Olsson, can’t see many cs coming from those fixtures. How much do you have to spend on that defensive position, just 3.8m?

  12. TrueBlue says:

Rafael and Diaby are probs also out, so I’m thinking of bringing in Pinaer and losing 4 points.

  13. Tommy K says:

my team is stuffed with injury doubts!

  14. arifin says:
