Sunday’s Dugout Discussion

There’s just one Premier League matter to settle today, with Everton hosting Phil Brown’s Hull at Goodison for the tea-time kick-off. Before that the FA Cup provides our entertainment. Villa take on Reading at lunchtime with Fantasy Managers hoping that the pair avoid a replay to help preserve Villa’s potential double fixtures. Later on we will be looking for more of the same when Chelsea take on Stoke.

The Chatroom is now open for Sunday Service.

imve had a total rethink and think this 4 point hit could be a really good move..opinions??

out go hangeland, gera and matty taylor……
in come warnock, arteta and milner……

  2. TheRags. says:

Pick 2 out of Rooney, Torres, Drogba For the next few weeks considering fixtures, form and fitness

  3. Nikola says:

Is Carew likely to play full 90 minutes in both of the coming DGWs after his performance today? What’s you take?

    • abreu says:

Maybe, but you just cant trust him, wether it comes to rotation risk or performance. On his days he is brilliant, but then you have all those other days. Still remember those matches he played in the CL for Valencia and Lyon against A1 opposition. Damm, what a world beater

      • BonZ says:

i think that MON will have to rotate to keep them frsh – will Heskey be able to play in all 4?? He does struggle with bumps & bruises. I think to A’bon +1. So bit risky me feels!!

  4. valencia -> Milner
    rooney -> drogba

this sound sensible? gives me a front line of drogba, torres, bendtner

  5. Vlad says:

    yay, green arrow, 2 (!) positions up :) ))

  6. Johnny Unitas says:

What are everyone’s plans re Villa DGW’s?

2 or 3 Villa players and who out of Agbonlahor/Carew/Milner/Downing/Dunne/Collins/Warnock/Cuellar

If Carew was starting I rate him quite highly but will be going for Agbonlahor and Milner i’d say

  7. TheRags. says:

Young or Milner for The 2 double gameweeks

  8. Soup Or Man says:

Just in, been out all day. 28 with 7 to play, a green arrow as well. A red in the FFS league which is bad for my cup hopes. How’d ye all fare?

  9. Marknlard says:

Random question- anyone know a good website for buying bundesliga tickets from? The one I’ve found is charging £81 for a Hertha Berlin ticket! I thought Germany was cheap…

  10. Andy1 says:

I have 4 questions that for you to pass opinions on:

    1) Who to get rid of Evra or Insua
    2) Who to bring in Warnock or Collins
    3) Who to get rid of Pienaar, Lee or Modric
    4) Who to bring in Milner, Downing or Young

    Cheers

  11. abreu says:

If you had tho choose one captain for the next 4 gameweeks, any player, who would it be? (gonna do some off-pist travelling the coming weeks)

  12. tboggie says:

will carew play in the dgw? thinking of getting 2 aston villa def & carew if hes playing, if not i’ll just just stick with the 2 defenders

  13. Jamsiep says:

Good question here for all you who think you know footie, no cheating allowed!

Name the 7th English players who have cost over 7 million, but have never represented England at senior level? I got 4…

  14. RoysBrotherJohnson says:

i really think with the amount of doubles coming up, drogba is the only essential big striker- the rest of the money should be floded into midfield for the rest of the season , pretty much. so i reckon ill be losing rooney with the injury, and i wont be touching off torres, too expensive, not fit, and a 6 mil forward (not bendy) will get me half his points and allow me a milner or an arteta.

at the business end of the season now, and i feel this must be my strategy if im to have any hope of caching rials, and, domesticatig my dog.

    • dbronaldo says:

im normally with you RBJ, but dissagree on this one,
torres effectively has a double verus rooney and drogba this week and next without the captains luxury.
i too think il be losing rooney soon,
lampard is banging them in so he can cover drogba ,
and torres, tevez and bendtner have the best fixtures for next 3 or 4 weeks,
drogba would be in my frontline if i didnt have lampard though,
torres has a one in 2 record , he will score and its world cup run in so he has enough motivation to get into the spain team. (its not clear cut yet)

      • RoysBrotherJohnson says:

you really think hes not a dead cert to go?

        • MFaulkner says:

Torres will go, but his starting place is under threat. It’s basically between him and Fabregas for one spot in the XI.

        • dbronaldo says:

i mean he is not a dead cert to start in the 11,
spain seem to prefer villa uptop with one of fabregas or torres in the 11,
when torres plays he is central and villa to the side slightly,

but right now torres is certainly not in the 11, for the squad he is a certainty

  15. NBU says:

    for GW 30:

    1)
    ricketts & valencia OUT
    collins & milner IN

    2)
in the team: pienaar (Birmigham away)
on the bench: wilshere (Wigan at home)
(or wilshere in team, pienaar on the bench)

    … thoughts, please

  16. Fray Bentos says:

in GW31 with all those doubles, who will have the balls to captain torres on his return to old trafford. i will be tempted

  17. Supersonic says:

VILLA cant defend for toffee! Milner is all ya need this week

  18. Who is a better choice agbon or carew,
Obviously people will say agbon as he has a better chance of playing (thats if he recovers from his stomach bug) but surely with the form carew is showing lately he cant be benched
