Rooney Returns For Milan Tie

Wayne Rooney is back in the United squad for their Champions League tie with AC Milan on Wednesday. Rooney missed Saturday’s trip to Wolves with a knee problem, aggravated by two matches in a week on the Wembley surface. He was however back in training this morning.

He will now return to the starting eleven for tomorrow night’s tie and crucially for Fantasy Managers, be in the reckoning for the home game with Fulham this weekend. Barring further problems with the knee after Wednesday’s tie, it’s hard to imagine Ferguson going into a potential tough encounter with a confident Fulham side without Rooney leading the attack…

With Cesc Fabregas a possible absentee this weekend, Rooney will therefore add his name to the hat for the Fantasy Premier League captaincy. Right now it seems, Villa’s James Milner, with his double fixture this gameweek, is the crowd favourite. Milner is currently dominating our Captain Poll with Didier Drogba trailing in second. It will be interesting to see if Rooney makes up ground following this latest report on his fitness.

    • Marknlard says:

Two goal Bendtner. Knew he’d bang them in after the Burnley game, shame it’s a sodding CL match…

      • Indeed MnL, Indeed.

      • Andy says:

I bought him in my fantasy champions league team… cash back!

        Arshavin + Bendtner = good.

        • Oh nice good call, Arsh looks excellent again.

          • Andy says:

Indeed he does, if he keeps it up I will look to invest in him once we’ve got through this double week of doubles.

Was going to buy Arshavin too, but would have benched Evra so… played safe a wee bit.

        • Td says:

Snap, took out Fab and Rooney for Arsh and Bender

        • Marknlard says:

You are a breathing rebuttal to the phrase ‘you can’t play too many fantasy football games’.

          • Andy says:

Haha, good fantasy day so far…

I signed up for the AfricanCN FF and my computer got hacked after I had only picked 6 of my players, so needless to say I quit that job.

When he wants to play he’s great. But when not he’s like a statue being rolled around the field.

  7. matt16matt says:

Come on Ladz, Drogba or Bendter for this week. Drogza will need a 4 point hit.

  8. Td says:

  9. Marknlard says:

What the hell is Andy Gray on about, the Porto player shouldn’t be offside as Campbell touched the ball before he went for the tackle. Is it really too much to ask for these guys to learn the rules?!

  13. Porto are making the gooners look like Brazil circa 72.

    • MFaulkner says:

I was at the 4-0 last season, and we looked so much better than we really were. Porto just stood there and watched us play.
