Aaron Lennon has reportedly returned to full training with Spurs this week as his stop-start recovery from a groin injury continues.

Today’s reports suggest that the jet-heeled winger could figure amongst Harry Redknapp’s subs for the trip to Old Trafford should he come through this week’s training sessions.

We await confirmation from Harry himself as the week progresses but should Lennon be in contention he would come onto our radars for Tottenham’s double fixtures in gameweek 37. That could prove a significant development going into the all-important gameweek…

Redknapp will want to give Lennon the opportunity to strap himself into the plane for South Africa but at the same time he will want to avoid disruption to a Spurs lineup that has won seven of it’s last eight games.

Lennon’s return, together with the availability of Wilson Palacios after suspension, will crowd Redknapp’s options in the midfield area. Just how he accommodates these two, along with the in-form Gareth Bale and the hugely influential Luka Modric, is anyone’s guess. One thing is for sure, Redknapp’s options are increasing at a time when Fantasy Managers are seeking security for their double gameweek investments.

“Alex Chamberlain played three games for the first time in his career. He had a stiff neck at half-time, so I did not want to take a gamble with him. Then we had a problem with Koscielny, and I wanted to give some playing time to Benayoun.”
