Having made it through Wednesday’s Champions League fixtures with little potential disruption to our Fantasy lineups, it’s time to flag up the fact that a new Captain Poll has gone live this evening.

Up until yesterday evening’s events Nani was your leading man in this week’s poll, holding off the hamstrung Cesc Fabregas in second place. Now that Sir Alex has all but ruled out the Portuguese winger from this weekend’s Old Trafford meet with Wolves, we felt only right to allow a new and fresh consensus to build…

Cesc Fabregas may of course now have free reign to top our poll, with a home fixture against Newcastle beckoning. Arsene Wenger expects his skipper to start and that could well offer the Spanish maestro the platform to return a worthy points haul.

At United there’s the Nani alternatives to consider, with both Dimitar Berbatov and Javier Hernandez set to take up the attacking burden at home to Wolves. Didier Drogba looks to have safely traversed his first Champions League fixture of the season tonight, so will – despite a fixture away at Anfield – inevitably draw attention. And, aside from their skipper, Arsenal offer a variety of options in the form of a trio of threats – Samir Nasri, Marouanne Chamakh and Theo Walcott; the latter will be looking to continue his devastating start to the season before injury derailed matters.

The poll is now awaiting your renewed vigour, so make haste and head back to the frontpage and cast your vote, then come back here to discuss and share your decision with your Fantasy Football peers.

it’s tricky with the fixtures coming so fast that a slight injury could make someone (Mal/VDV/Nani) miss two or three matches instead of just one!

Im just going to take a bunch of hits as there are some players i have been looking for an excuse to get rid of (malouda) and hope for a good week. I cant believe all this has happened when i was ready to ship out torres too! I suppose the pretty boy will have to remain a while longer... Sigh

I just tried to vote on the Captain's Poll Redux, but my vote was rejected because I had already voted on the Original Captain's Poll.

Try again. Refresh your page, or open a new page. I had voted in original, but could vote in the new Captain's Poll

Like most on here have gone with the cheap defence option so far and all the cash on forwards and midfield. Just wondering now defences are settling down and more clean sheets are coming and Rooney/Torres/Berbs not delivering, whether it may be time to switch tactics and go for a Vidic/Baines/Cole defence and bring in some cheaper forwards? What do you guys think?

That's exactly what I'm working on atm. Barring injuries I will be able to start fixing my defense in 2 weeks. Plan to get Kolarov and either Cech & Baines or Howard & Cole.

I've linked my team as like I said in an earlier post, my team has gone to sh*te with so many injuries and doubts. I'm guessing a few people might forget that there is midweek matches so I can get back on track.
Any ideas for transfers would be good!
I'll do Nani > Arteta but what else?
