Gameweek 24, and the second week of the wildcard window, is almost upon us. If you’re still undecided on which transfers to go with, the Saturday Surgery is here to help (or at least point you in the right direction)…

As this is our first ‘serious’ double gameweek of the season, make yourself familiar with the fixtures. The season ticker should be your first port of call, but Wednesday’s Frisking The Fixtures breaks that down further.

If, like me, you haven’t activated your second wildcard yet, then don’t look too far ahead. In fact, only look as far ahead as this week. You’ll need info on all the clubs with two fixtures this week then? No problem… Man United, Blackpool, Fulham, Liverpool, Wigan and Aston Villa.

Failing that, this week Scout Picks narrows your search down to 14 players.

Once you’ve got a few players in mind, checking the Injuries and Bans table and Team News section should now be a given. There you can check that your squad ‘should’ play this week.

Finally, you have to select a captain. Unsurprisingly, double gameweek players top the Captain’s Poll. Leading the pack easily is Manchester United’s Luis Nani, with 41% of the votes.

    Relieved that Foster is in my team and Nani is my captain.

    I go with the following 5 DGW week lads...but with some really strong SGW players...

    My team is

    Foster
    Coleman, Samba, Evatt*
    Fabs, Adam*, Dempsey*, Nani* (C)
    Tevez, RVP, Berba

    Subs: Carson, Kolorov, Simpson, VDV

    Pondered Torres, Kelly, Stockdale all week for a hit but I have been burnt by Torres in the last DGW. Lets hope Tevez outscores Torres.

    El Nino has been poor all season but he is being supplied by a dire midfield.

          Tip. Get a shite player like Cleverley who is injured 🙂 and then bench him every week.

            Hope it doesnt hurt - my midfield four are pretty strong at the mo...and so are the strikers who should all outscore VDV....

            If anything its a ten point loss...no biggie

      Won't be many going this week. Everyone on here is playing it properly, knows about the DGW and knows about the second WC.

      Probably about 500,000 of the great unwashed have unchanged teams with the likes of Carroll and Malouda as skipper.

        Maybe they changed the protection rules, there were a lot protected the other day without good reason.

        Also thought Bent would be protected after his move for 10 days, but went up already!

      I don't think you messed up with your captain. Have a funny feeling Rooney's re-ignition begins this weekend. And Nani won't play 180 mins.
      Having 10 dgw will probably be a problem going forward though...
