Introducing The ICT Scout Index

Yesterday we launched the ICT Scout Index for our Members. This is immediately viewable via the dashboard on login, with top 10’s displayable for both the current Gameweek and the season as a whole. Obviously, right now, this is based on last season’s data.

Read on for more details on what the ICT Index brings to our Members’ offering…

What is the ICT Scout Index?

Basically this is a football index created specifically to assess a player in Fantasy terms. It uses the statistical data already available to Members to create a single score for three key areas – Influence, Creativity and Threat. These scores then combine to create a single ICT Scout Index score.

In basic terms the ICT index will help to make our statistics easier to digest. The individual index scores help to measure a player’s importance to their team and to a match (Influence), a player’s likelihood to earn assists (Creativity) and to score goals, or at least get in goalscoring situations (Threat).

Index scores will be generated on a gameweek basis and cumulatively over the season for all players. All the usual statistics are available, but Members now have an easy route to identify how players are performing across the key statistics – they can go straight in now and start analysing players based on last season’s data.

The index, like any football index, will require tweaking as we go. Even so, we feel that it’s a valuable addition for our Members and offers us plenty of material to discuss in a series of new weekly Members articles.

How Can I View the ICT Scout Index?

In addition to the Top 10 standings on the Members dashboard, the full index is available within the Fantasy Index tab for Player Stats. You can view the index by position or for all players.

By default this offers a cumulative view of the Index totals – however, Members can also slice the data by a given gameweek or a range of gameweeks and view average Index scores per appearance using the Advance Filter Options.

The Player Profiles (available by clicking on any player), also offer a complete Gameweek by Gameweek breakdown of a players’ Index score. Using this, you can analyse trends and assess how a player is developing in terms of Fantasy potential as the season progresses.

We will of course, use such breakdowns in our regular articles to help you identify those players in form according to their ICT Scout Index scores.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I have Bos and Lampard, on the maxim I can swap them for Ivanovic and Malouda if I need to. Luiz is probably the most reliable pick longer term, but who knows at this point of the season.

I'm getting concerned that the players who were essential to the promoted sides last year are now in danger of being swamped by new signings and in danger of having nothing like the impact They looked likely to have. Am I right/wrong,in your opinion?

Tend to agree here... the step up to the prem is the other thing to consider. For the likes of Taar / Sinclair, they may still hang onto penalties though so that's in their favour. Did you have anyone in particular in mind?

Demi, I'll still wait till gw4 mate. On top of poor fixtures or now looks like arsenal will be weakened & disrupted.
Roon has left the building though, nani has stepped up 😉 he'll probably be the one I give the chop when I need rvp funds though.

I do. I think he'll be given a run especially as he's so hungry & full of confidence atm. He'll hit the wall and get benched at some point but all I want from him is a couple nice returns vs wba & tot then I'll mercilessly downgrade him in gw3. Unless of course he seems unstoppable by then 🙂

While the "wah"bulance makes its way to your house, let me explain why you should stop crying. If the best options are revealed then this will force players in mini-leagues to become even more creative in finding differentials, because I suspect "The Scout" will reveal some potential players and not simply showing bandwagon performances from the previous game week. The people who will take it as gospel are probably not in minileagues and are the same people that got Dzeko after the community shield.

A question not a rating, but do you know much about Taylor? He's suspended GW1 but still tempts me more than Swansea's other DFs as apparently he can play left mid as well. Just wondering if he ever actually, you know, does.

Team itself is fine, except I wouldn't double up on Yaya on Silva personally.

Any other Arsenal fans feel like they just got dumped and are desperate for a rebound?

Are you referring to Cesc leaving and maybe Jadson signing? If so, then nope, he looks a class player. He has experience in the CL and his passing and creativity stats are 20 on FM 😉

He's a little short, but he fits in with our style of play and plays/passes with a quick tempo.

He'll also be 28 in Oct so he's a short term replacement until Rambo is ready.

Yes, seen him in many CL games. He stood out against Roma and played well against Barca. I went to the emirates to see Brazil vs Scotland, he looked class, quick footballing brain, always knew what he wanted to do with the ball, minimal touches. A bit like Paul Scholes 😛

Im not saying i've seen him a lot, i've just watched Shakthar in the CL, they play great football. I would prefer Douglas Costa but Jadson is a good player. Concerned that he's a Brazilian soon to be 28 year old though...

He's got a good strike on him.

I like how this video highlights him like it's FIFA. Also, the rock...

That strike won't last. See Arshavin and Rosicky for examples.

I had not heard about the Jadson signing so that lifts my spirits a little, but I was referring to us going after Juan Mata and probably getting rejected yet again.

this jadson bloke sounds ok. i just hope his 'late runs into the box' means he gets there for crosses. i'm so bored of watching crosses into the box with 1 person inside it

No velocity of drops or adds-- long formula, there's a website that cracks the algorithm and posts probabilities. Fantasytools or something like it, but I think they need two weeks to get it synched up. Anyone know the current website ?

Sorry. Velocity is a bad word choice. It's a percentage of the base and the current adds or drops plus much more in the formula.

Not sure what you mean ?

If you mean £ value then yes - but only starting from 11:30 Sat.

First price changes 1am Sun, and then 1am every night until the clocks change

      I think ...?!
