Sunday Dugout Discussion

Filed under: Dugout Discussion - Posted by: Akers

Yet again both Manchester clubs in are involved in Sunday Premier League action. With most fantasy managers cheering on their captain today, the Dugout Discussion opens to follow all the action from the three games on show.

We start at Old Trafford as United look to open up an eight point gap with a victory against Everton. The team news from the match-up is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Man United XI: De Gea, Rafael Da Silva, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Valencia, Scholes, Carrick, Nani, Rooney, Welbeck.

Everton XI: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Neville, Osman, Heitinga, Gibson, Pienaar, Fellaini, Jelavic.

Nani returns to United’s starting eleven for the first time in eight games, with Ashley Young taking his place on the substitutes bench. Facing his former employer, Darron Gibson starts for Everton.

Then it’s over to bottom of the league Wolves, where City are in town needing three points regardless of the earlier result. Kicking off at the same time, Liverpool and West Brom are also in action, with Roy Hodgson back at Anfield for the first time since departing as Liverpool manager.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and can be accessed right here.

  1. Aguero for 3 bonus?

    1. No too many missed chances

    2. No chance.

      1. 2?

    3. nah 1 probably

  2. Rooney likely to get all three bps???

    1. He usually does.

    2. he wasted a few chances, welbeck and nani could nick them and im sure jelly will get something! tough call

  3. Have 9.4m to spend on a midfielder as Walcott has bust his damn hamstring. Who is the best replacement? I miss out on the good ones by .1m!!!

    1. Mata piennaar barfa bale vdv

      1. Pienaar at the moment is my #1 choice. Have Bale, can't afford VDV or Mata, and already have 3 Newcastle players ;)

    2. I went with pienar

    3. Bale if you don't have him, otherwise Ben Arfa.

    4. I'm sorry. What was the question? :-)

  4. Martin Petrov you have half a job done now so go and finish it with another haul.
    Great captain choice

  5. My team is
    Vorm / WOL (H)

    Caulker / WOL (H)
    Walker / BLA (H), BOL (A)
    Assou-Ekotto / BLA (H), BOL (A)

    Valencia / MCI (A)
    Dempsey / EVE (A), LIV (A)
    Bale / BLA (H), BOL (A)
    Cabaye / WIG (A), CHE (A)
    Ben Arfa / WIG (A), CHE (A)

    Cisse / WIG (A), CHE (A)
    Rooney / MCI (A)

    Bench:
    Tevez MUN (H) / Evans J MCI (A) / Lichaj WBA (A)

Ive already used my 1 FT , any transfers worth a 4pt hit?
    And should i play Valencia/Tevez/Evans J

    1. get jelavic for tevez, and bench valencia to play him

      1. i was thinking for that, but worth a 4 t hit?

        1. id say so

    2. 1 million in bank

    3. play tevez over val for christ sake

  6. Is anyone selling/benching RVP this week?

    1. i sold him for Tevez, and 4 pt hit, 5-1=4 ha ha

    2. thinking about benching.

      1. Me too but it doesn't feel right. Stoke isn't that bad of a fixture.

    3. May be benching. May keep both Rooney and Van Persie now ...

      1. Yeah I want to keep both as I'll want them back for GW37.

    4. Sold. But on WC.

    5. maybe selling..give ways to Jelly~

    6. I need jelly but don't know who to get rid of rvp/Rooney. I'm feeling so sentimental about rvp. I just can't see him going.

      1. Same here i've had him for all of his goals this season and last season bar 2. It just feels wrong selling him.

      2. I know exactly what you mean, I bought him for 11.9 and the thought of me selling him makes me go all funny inside

    7. I sold for Tevez this GW, but will get him back in 37.

Are 3 Spurs players too many for the DGW? I already have Bale and Ade and I'm considering getting BAE - should I bring in someone else instead?

    1. As a disgruntled spurs fan I would say 1 is too many at the moment. I have two and that's too much now as we have blown it

  8. Reppoost.

    A)Caulker>Hibbert (-4)

    B)Valencia>Pienaar (-4)

    C)Caulker>Hibbert and Valencia Pienaar (-8)

    already have Jelavic.

    1. Have the same problem but look at the last games
Man utd have swansea and sunderland and swansea have utd, so i would do A

      1. it depends if you have to play 1 or if you can bench the other

  9. Between Cabaye & Ben Arfa , who should get in first ?

    1. I have no idea - but I do have Ben Arfa. Toying with the idea of doubling ...

    2. nope doubling atm, ben arfa is OOP right ?

  10. repost

ok, so my Rooney to Tevez punt was a huge fail. But luckily rival only took 8 points out of me, so still have a 40 point cushion.

Would love Rooney back for the Derby, but short of a 12 point hit, not gonna happen, so I will wait until 37 and shift Cisse.

So, my DGW team should look like

    Mingolet

    Caulker, Cahill, Santon

    Bale, Dempsey, Pienaar, Siggy

    RvP, Jelavic, Cisse (c)

    De Gea, McClean, Verm, Evans

    (-8)

    What do we think?

    1. Well, I think it is tremendous - apart from Bale. Don't see an alternative, though.

      1. Having clung to Bale, I have to keep him for DGW.

        1. That's what I mean. I am reneging on Pienaar, I think.

          1. on what grounds

            He has great form.

    2. Time for a large gin is what I think ;-)

  11. 17 - Arsenal have had a joint-league high 17 different goalscorers this season (with Everton)
Anyone else find that surprising, on both accounts?

      1. Hmm!
Just seems that Arsenal are the 'one man team' and Everton don't score any goals.

        1. That is the myth on here. That is why I have persisted with Song - and will get Vermaelen in 37.

  12. Hi Guys Please let me know your thoughts on my team for next week. Please

    Vorm
    Cahill Taylor Jose Enrique
    Sigurdsson VDV Dempsey Bale
    Cisse Aguero Jelavic

I will have taken a 4 pt hit for valenica and rooney to VDV and Jel. I Will get roo or nani back for gw 37
    THANKS

    1. yea looks solid! maybe jelly or cisse for captaincy

      1. I think Jelly is a good cap choice for this gw

        1. same i can definatly see him scoring against fulham or stoke if not both

          1. thanks guys. As a utd fan i hate taken roo out but i just feel agureo has a better chance of scoring as i think roo will play deep

  13. will rooney get 3 nonus folks?

    1. Yes I think

  14. sess and walcott out for which 2 of these guys:

vdv, bale, pienaar, hba, cabaye, gerrard, maxi

can't be two of vdv bale and gerrard cuz of price and can't be two newcastle players cuz i've already go simps and cisse

  15. Grapevine stuff but:
I've heard a few rumours tonight that I don't like regarding an Adebayor/Redknapp bust-up. Redknapp singled him out, Ade lost his temper.

Man management superb as always 'Arry.

    1. Lrf

Do not like that as an Ade owner.

    2. Source, as always...

  16. Lrf
    • Reputation Level: Scout

Everyone with Ade keeping faith with him, even if we doesn't get any hints about him beeing ready?

    1. Rui
      • Reputation Level: Scout

He's done nothing but disappoint since I bought him in but it would be pointless to get rid before a crucial DGW. Hopefully the rumour posted above isn't true!

  17. my gw36 team atm:
    Mignolet
    Caulker Sagna Williamson
    Siggy Bale Walcott Sess
    Cisse Rooney RVP
    Bench: valencia turner evans
ive 2 free transfers and .7m in the bank! i need to sell walcott anyway and either a defender or one of the big strikers! any ideas?

  18. Will the Pog get bps as he scored yesterday

  19. new post

  20. I feel I have to have a Chelsea player in for DGW, but really unsure who, with the second CL clash with Barca and the FA cup final so close to the DGW. Anyone attack minded in the Chelsea side that is close to soild to start in the prem?

  21. Kelly, Walcott, RVP  Cahill, Pienaar, Jellyfish

    bish bash bosh

  22. Advice please. This is for the rest of the season:

Fallaini, Terry & in gw38 Hart

    or

    Piennar, Cahill/Eve def & in gw38 Hart/Cech

    or

    Pienaar, Terry & in gw38 Schwarzer/Vorm

    or

    Pienaar, Walker/BAE & in gw38 Hart/Cech

    or

    VDV, Cahill/Eve def & in gw38 Schwarzer/Vorm

Need to get rid of Theo tonight no matter what!

    Thanx.

    1. 4th option for me

      1. Cheers Demi... that's all I need :)

        1. That's nice to hear 4vets, :) .

  23.  :shy: :embarrassed:

  24. so wc time for me.
