The Weekend Team News

Filed under: Team News - Posted by: Paul

Juan Mata and David Luiz are both “very doubtful” for Chelsea’s trip to Swansea, though Ashley Cole is fit and available. Dimitar Berbatov (as predicted by our recent “From the Physio” article) and Chris Baird have recovered from knocks and will face Everton tomorrow , while Demba Ba has a “good chance” of making Newcastle’s trip to Liverpool, according to Alan Pardew:

Elsewhere, Gaston Ramirez returns for Southampton at West Brom, though the hosts still have concerns over Shane Long and Claudio Yacob.

Martin O’Neill has worries over Carlos Cuellar’s hamstring, David Moyes is hopeful of a return for Kevin Mirallas and Bobby Zamora is hoping to overcome a hip problem with the help of injections ahead of QPR’s home showdown with Reading.

All today’s news has been collected and rolled out along with our predicted lineups, over in the team news section.

We’ll continue the updates up until the eleventh hour, with tomorrow’s Pre-Match preamble offering the teamsheet views from the press.

As always, keep an eye on our Twitter feed for the very latest.

Chrissy Waddle - Luca Modric: The Gail Tilsley of Madrid says:

    Any QPR fans about?

How nailed on is Taarabt these days? I was burnt at the start of the season, but 5.5 for a quality fifth midfielder appeals greatly.

Crouch/Nomar – you around guys? Appreciate your feedback here. Ta.

    Benster says:

Just wondered what sort of team I could get if I only went for players starting with B

    Begovic – Boruc

    Baird – Boyce – Baines – Bassong – Buttner

Ben Arfa – Bale – Benayoun – Brunt – Barry

    Ba – Berbatov – Bent

Not too bad, midfield looks a bit lightweight though as some are not playing much. Could stick Britton and Beausejour in there if I want regulars……..

    ….Hmmmm, January wildcard :)

    Flying Asasssins says:

    Foster (Begovic)
    Baines Cuellar Nelsen (Clyne) (Hughes)
    Nolan Michu Hazard Fellaini (HBA)
    Crouch RVP Tevez

Don’t know whether I’m happy with my team e.g. Begovic not playing, Southampton have only failed to score in one match.
