The Big Numbers – Gameweek 10

Another unplayable performance from Marouane Fellaini, ably supported by a string of outstanding Everton displays, lights up this weekend’s Big Numbers analysis, while the likes of Pablo Hernandez, Christian Benteke, Nicky Shorey, Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez crash the party. Here’s our choice of the key statistics on show in the Gameweek so far…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Due shipping out yea. One of my many dilemmas is who to keep out of Berba and Fletcher. One if not both, have to go, and their fixtures aren't much different IMO. Fletchers fixtures edge it for me, but, Berbs is Berbs and also Sunderlands awful form and lack of goals swing it to Berbs.

        Lost.

Berbs has Arsenal away followed by guess who.....home to Fletch and Sunderland
Fletch has Everton away and then away at FUlham.

Seeing as though sund are not creating anything.. (which is a shame coz i wanted Ajohnson to get a bandwagon going) I would leave berbs who is on pens.. and lets face it a class above fletch

It will be sad to not have one of the 3 chelsea wizards if they are going to be a top 3 team. Mata or corners/free kicks. Fellaini plays same position really as any chelsea 3 without set pieces and not a top 3 team + 4 yellows

First really make up your mind on which player you want and why. I have rooney. I will probs sweat every game as most likely everyone will have rvp (c). If RVP scores 220pts then rooney will need to get 190pts for value. Can you get lambert out for rooney?

I just don't get this. Newcastle have two GREAT home fixtures, plus a healthy run after that, and people like yourself are not only thinking of getting rid of one of their best attacking options in HBA (granted not smoking hot at the mo), but.....BA AS WELL???

Ba tweets he's fine, HBA you might as well keep for two weeks.

      Rules out B
A I dont fancy Nelson lets face it he and Qpr are crap and cant do anything

nelsen would be my 5th defender behind baines, rafa, sagna and saylor. surely its not a bad idea getting him at 4.0, or i could get gorkss or someone of similar price

so why you think its better to ship bale than lambert or berb? just curious

Just throwing things around at the mo........

Would having Rafael, Valencia AND RVP be too much United? I'd rather have none of the Rag bar-stewards but I dont play this game with heart.

Anytime the ball goes to the right side of the pitch I would be completely covered.
If 2 fail, RVP wont. If RVP fails, Rafa or Valencia will be assisting Shrek or Chich
Cant see all three of them drawing blanks besides maybe against City, and this season so far, hardly see that either.

So I say again..........Rafael, Valencia and RVP? Too much?

Uh hardly. Hes coming into form, coming into dream fixtures, they are top of the league, he has the most lethal striker in the league to cross to, he could run the length of the pitch and back before Peanut could run the centre circle, and he has Rafael who is the leagues form fullback bombing outside him.

Pienaar doesn't hold a candle to Valencia, on any day of the week.

Pienaar has Baines, and tends to be more of an assister than a goal scorer. You must admit I'm not far off the mark especially when I said rich mans as in a United version of Pienaar

10 gameweeks down, essentially 1/4 through the season so lets get somewhat reflective of how we have gone so far in terms of transfers made.

So far I have only taken 1 hit (as a result of Chelsea's DGW) and have tried my best to make careful and measured transfer decisions. What does FFS consider to be a maximum reasonable amount of hits so far after 10 GW's? (assume WC is already taken)

            Team's linked but

            Beg, Jask
            Baines, Rafael, Cameron, Hughes, Nelson
            Mata, Bale, Pienaar, Nolan, Sterling.
            RVP, Berb, Giroud.

Was going to take Nolan out for HBA and Giroud for Ba, but considering alternatives in case Ba's injury continues.

What would be perfect would be Ramirez in for Nolan, Ba in for Giroud, then Silva in for Pie.

I admit, it's a lot of eggs in one basket. But it's a pretty big, cushioned basket.

Rooney and RVP are bound to be Utd's top scorers, why not get them both for a fantastic run of easy opponents?

I'll be getting Ba... but just think it.

I have to disagree that Utd haven't been playing well. I think attacking-wise they have been brilliant. It's only defensively where they've been lacking.

Everyone gets to share said Pie. RVP get's most but Rooney will get his greedy little share too.

I'd rather have Aguero, Tevez, Suarez or Ba, to spread the risk. If United have a low scoring game that's over 25 million in your lineup.

Too expensive really. If you had Tevez you could probably swap to Suarez fairly easy...but that suspension and the fact that he's a bit hot and cold make it unappealing right now.

Add to that no-one particularly likes him unless you're a Pool fan.

I think he's helped by the fact Pool have no other options...he has a monopoly of the chances...it's inevitable he will do well. Personally I just can't see a way of fitting him into my team any time soon.

At 9.7 he just doesn't look attractive regardless of his form. And he always bloody misses the target anyway...there would be advantages to owning him but as you said...most people don't really want to own him either way.

He's totally worth it...I'm not going to argue he isn't. It's just he's inconsistent sometimes...it's all about strategy really. Owning Suarez is a great idea in FPL this year if you can fit him in...I just don't see me getting him anytime soon as I've chosen a different strategy.

honestly i'd go for it. look at the fixtures suarez has after next week. and honestly i wouldn't worry about aguero. continually rested for their difficult CL group so hasn't been playing much. if you really want a man city attacker, get tevez. but atm i don't think they're worth it as they haven't been playing too well

You could do komp to raf now before price changes and end up with roughly 3.5m in the bank. Keep crouch and berbs. I think you could upgrade Taarabt to Valencia and be laughing all the way to the bank mate.

        Morning/evening/afternoon all,
Eating crow this week and moving to bring in RVP.
Need to ship either Jelavic or Giroud in process.

Jelavic more productive and Everton has been playing great, but he hasn't been in on the goods lately and Everton's schedule is nearing the end of the great start.

Giroud hasn't done feck all of late but Arsenal schedule looking quite nice over the coming weeks.

        Thoughts?

Jelavic and Giroud are decent differentials and if they were to come good over their fixtures they'd be pretty awesome differentials. Unfortunately neither has form at the minute. I'd say owning one is enough of a punt at the minute considering they're both a little over mid-range price.

This^ and I'd lose Giroud. I have him and can't wait to be rid. Don't know why Jelly hasn't scored recently.

Thanks, I was leaning towards dropping Giroud and relying on Santi for my Arsenal returns, but by same token, I've got Pienaar and Baines and trying not to feel too much like an Everton fanboy. Was feeling so clever for bringing in Giroud in first place, but now, not so much.

Have the second season blues here, after great first year in game, I feel kind of adrift at the moment.

I love Jelly. Donkey and ice-cream, not good. Seriously, I don't rate Giroud at all. 10 games in, either it's Giroud's lack of ability or Wenger's lack of faith in him due to his lack of PL ability. An in-form Bentdner, as far as that was, was much better than Giroud. Jelavic is quality and PL proven.

Anyone else in the rather bizarre situation, whereby after a truly awful GW, they've still managed to climb the overall table. Somehow gone up 3K...........there must have been some woeful scores this week.

Need Foster to save a penalty, keep a CS and pick up 3bps to win my H2H..........too much to ask?

Seriously considering taking my first hit of the season for GW11
Bale, Pienaar, Fletcher ---> Valencia, Taarabt, Suarez.
8 point hit leaving me with 0.3 in the bank. Any thoughts. I probably wont have the guts to do it though :/

pretty sure you've got that in the bag. wba cs would give him 12 so would still be 1 behind and then you'd get playing points for clyne and lambert. now if lambert scores then you're miles ahead! and wba concede in general you're still pretty far ahead

Howdy guys, just wondering how most/all of you can tell straight away RVP would get the 3 boners after Cazorla scores? Couldn't it have been easily Evra who gets the 3 being a defender who scored?

RVP had 4 shots on target - made huge impact on PPI
RVP 42 PPI, Evra 32. if Cazorla didnt score, Evra would get more PPI due to CS

I suppose the good news is that there ain't much knee-jerky bandwagon material about. Perhaps Fellaini, although he's one away from a short ban, so comes with baggage.

Hopefully transfers will be a bit calmer this week......

Which is a good thing. You seem to be lacking a bench, but if you're happy with them, it looks strong. Mid is lacking a Mata/Bale but that's the price you pay for having such pricey strikers.
