The Big Numbers – Gameweek 10

Another unplayable performance from Marouane Fellaini, ably supported by a string of outstanding Everton displays, lights up this weekend’s Big Numbers analysis, while the likes of Pablo Hernandez, Christian Benteke, Nicky Shorey, Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez crash the party. Here’s our choice of the key statistics on show in the Gameweek so far…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

so whats the best way to get a united forward? leaning towards the last option at the moment but not sure...

    a) ba + kolorov > rooney + nelsen
    b) ba + kolorov + hba > rvp + nelsen + ramirez
    c) ba + bale > rvp + ramirez
    d) lambert + hba + kolorov > rooney + sterling + nelsen
    e) berb + hba + kolorov > rvp + sterling + nelsen

I think its worth it this week. RVP could run riot vs. Villa, and probably will be most captained again.

If Rooney had converted the penalty he would have scored higher than Rvp. You need tp decide whether Rooney can outscore RvP or not. Then choose between D & E.

Really frustrating that Demel is dropping like a stone...I bought him at 4.1 on my wildcard and now he looks like he could drop to 4.0...what a drag...thinking I might do something stupid and swap him out for a 4-4.2m defender for a 4 point hit...just to avoid losing money...am I mad?

The endless points chasing between Fellaini to Pienaar and Pienaar to Fellaini is quite a common theme each week. Reminds me of the whole Bale > Hazard > Bale > Hazard > Cazorla > Mata > Cazorla business. I wouldn't do it for a hit but worth considering on a free if the rest of your team is fine.

Since I have Cazorla, Mata and Pienaar, I was thinking of going for a punt. Valencia still hasn't yet delivered good fantasy points but with the fixtures looking great coming up, I fancy him to do well. If I were to have Fellaini, I'd look to upgrade Pienaar instead.

The fixtures are good but he has very little goal threat, goals are what get you baps and as I said he is off form. There probably 10 midfielders who are either slightly more expensive or much cheaper that I expect to equal or better his returns. An on form Valencia was great last season when he was returning from injury at 7.5-7.8 but at 8.6+ and very much out of form I don't see the temptation.

Any noises about a Kolarov start over the next two? I wouldn't mind giving him TOT, AVL, before shipping him out.

I could do Bale + Defoe > Knightly + RVP for a 4 pt hit this week, and then downgrade Kolarov to upgrade one of my mids to Valencia in time for QPR

Or just do Kolarov + Bale + Defoe > Cameron + 7m + RVP / Cameron + Valencia + Rooney. For an 8pt hit this week.

if Kolarov won't play, I would be all for it. I would just hate to take an 8pt hit to get him out, then he actually does something! That would be the ultimate kick in the teeth!

I will probably only do an 8pt hit if I get RVP. As I wouldn't captain Rooney away at avl. Would you still say ramirez, if I am holding onto Lambert?

What happened to sticking with the plan until January? 😉 Haha.
I'd get RVP, for sure, but I don't like Bale out. He thrives in bigger games and once Adebayor and Dembele come in Spurs will improve massively. If that's the only way then do the 8 pt hit. Kightly and more importantly Stoke don't attack enough. 7M can get you plenty of good options. Fellaini or Ramirez at the top.

He's a quality little player. But like most at the age (especially at Liverpool) his decision making/end product is poor. He'll get better as he goes on, and he'll get decent points..especially for the price, but don't expect too much.

    a) kolarov > clichy
    b) kolarov > rafa & jelly > berba (4pt hit)
    c) kolarov > hughes/cameron (double up Stoke) & jelly > tevez (4pt hit)
    d) do nothing as i can still play orkss/nelsen if he didn't feature in the next 2 Home games.

      D.

I'm not a fan of Kolarov, but Clichy himself is also a rotation risk and getting rid of Jelavic before SUN rdg NOR ARS for Berbatov with ars SUN che sto spells trouble IMO. Gorkss for NOR and Nelsen for SOT are good enough backup to warrant a saving of 4 points.

And Readings are better than Chelseas, doesn't mean I'm gonna be doing Mata > Jimmy Kebe any time soon.
Cazorla and Bale offer far superior goal threat and similar, if not more, assist potential than Valencia. Unlike Valencia they are both on corners and share FK's and most of all they are the focal point to their teams attack.
If you MUST ditch one, go Cazorla, as Arsenal are shite atm. (Arsenal fan here)

no.. cant look past stoke and sunderland's defense imo.. as below i plan on doubling up. They really are set up well for CS's.. the counter argument is that they might setup try to attack now and get some points on the board leaving their defense in disarray

Jack, yeah, looks like I am coming home with my tail between my legs. The main thing that has changed is that with Man Utd running away with their champions league group, I expect them to rest the strikers in the group games, rather than the premier league.

RVP + high price + Rotation risk + rubbish fixtures = avoid
RVP + high price + less rotation + amazing fixtures = would be stupid to avoid.

    Everyone, your help please

I’m thinking to do whatever it takes to trade in RvP with pending fixtures but am concerned my mids are now too weak

Do I use my 2 free transfers: Torres & Yaya to RvP & Guthrie?

    Jaask Begovic
    Vermaelen Rafael Cuellar (McCartney Wisdom)
    Bale Hazard Michu Yaya (Sterling)
    Tevez Torres Berbatov

The other option is to downgrade Vermaelen/Yaya to Baird/Pienaar & take 4 point hit on Torres > RvP ????

Definitely use those two frees to get RVP in. I'm almost tempted to advise you on a threeway involving Baines for Verm but I'd hold off on that one for now.

I'd very strongly advise to buy in a player that plays so I'd rule out Guthrie. Puncheon perhaps?

No forget all that-the sub 5 mills are a waste of time.

Do the threeway (it's only -4pts).

Verm/Yaya/Torres out->RVP/Baines/and whoever you can get with the highest ppg and gets gametime.

If Sunderland could not score against Aston Villa at home, i highly doubt they scoring against Everton away.. They are in a poor poor form...

Anyways got RVP ... choice will be between RVP and Baines..
