The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Seven – The Hole

We just won’t let it lie. Having rinsed through the idea in this week’s Digest, the prospect of dropping this new breed of “in the hole” midfielders into a new Fantasy position gets another airing in this week’s ‘Cast. Granville agrees but we still somehow manage to argue about it.

Around that particular hot topic, there’s our usual brand of regulars, plus a preview of the two sides that lie in wait for us in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup and the latest on Ed’s team and his work on the new comments system. “Mr Ghostship” had a bad week – could it be all the attention has piled the pressure on his big coding shoulders?

Take up the role in the hole by clicking this link, or just stream the business in your browser via the player below….

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Fixtures are easy from now on though. And he's pretty much going to be bench fodder, plus DGW in a few weeks.

McCartney? tough fixtures I know but also got some assist in the last few weeks...but it would be good if a West Ham fan on here would tell if he is likely to play when all the defenders come back from injury

Liverpool had a great run of fixtures and Gerrard was unlucky not to shoot at least two spot kicks in this period, which was exactly what I was hoping to get from him. Nasri was nailed on with Silva missing.

Defoe to Suarez. No brainer right?

I need to think long term as I have Jussi and Foster and I may need to bring in a keeper if Foster is out for a while and Jussi's fixtures aren't good. I also may need to sort my defence out if Gibbs is out longer than next week. I know I could take a hit, but it ain't worth it for a defender is it?

First post! yipaedeedooda! Seeking advice on a couple of things please.

    1) GK - Ruddy vs rea or Krul vs WHU
Had Krul nailed on at start of week but NEW missing defenders and Tiote while NOR have been solid recently. Who is more likely for CS or will it come down to save points?

    2) Captain choice - With cup in mind, want to captain a player who can rival my opponent's RVP(c). Looking at players my opp does not have leaves me reasonable choices of:

Hazard (LIV) - good home returns but LIV recent record at S.Brigde is incredible + Mata/Oscar just as likely to star
Pienaar (SUN) - poor form but any combo of goal/assist/bonus/CS possible this weekend
Ba (WHU) - even if he plays, will he be 100%?
Suarez (che) - good form and has scored away goals. LIV have good form at Bridge but how much to consider history vs current level of teams?

Keep an eye on news for Morrison, you may have Cameron coming in anyway if he still has a knock.

Other than that, good to go, but consider downgrading Ivan soon to upgrade that 3rd striker.

    Morning Dudes,

    All set for the weekend?

    Foster
    Baines - Cameron - Cuellar
    Bale - Valencia - Pienaar - Ramirez
    RVP (C) - Tevez - Ba

    (Henderson) - Noble - Hughes - Demel

Obvious concerns over Foster and Ba, and minor concerns over Valencia & Tevez (gametime), but any changes would require a hit, so keeping my fingers crossed.

    Good luck to all 🙂

always play the home goalkeeper. look at my goalies if u like. and how they rotate at home.

your question is such a no contest. did u expect anyone to say 'The best thing to do here is to play jussi away to newcastle'. seriously? it annoys me when there are such trivial posts.

I'm soooo tempted by Shorey at the moment as a cheap defender. Great fixtures, double and as members will know, among the most threatening full backs in the Premier League over the last four matches.

Only problem is he plays for Reading.

I ditched Saylor for Rafael last week. Not regretting the switch but still think he could be worth having for fixtures. Agree though, Newcastle are not the same as they were last year and I can see the Newcastle old boys easing at least one past them this weekend. Nolan will be sooooo up for it.
