Monitor – Santi Cazorla

On an almost-weekly basis, Santi Cazorla records stand-out Opta statistics without producing Fantasy returns. The Spaniard’s role in “the hole” for Arsenal affords him plenty time to wreak havoc in the final third but with a single goal in his last four Gameweeks and without an assist in his last six, many Fantasy managers are starting to jump ship.

There is no doubt Cazorla is a wonderful talent but when mid-price alternatives such as Marouane Fellaini and Kevin Nolan have bettered his Fantasy Premier League (FPL) score from similar roles for Everton and West Ham respectively, and James Morrison is just a single point behind the former Malaga man, Cazorla’s price tag weighs heavy on our budgets. In this latest article for Members, we compare his performances over the past four Gameweeks to his opening seven appearances, while also taking a look at Cazorla’s home and way displays over the course of the season so far.

Since returning from international duty in Gameweek 8, there’s been a definite drop in Cazorla’s statistics. Earlier this month, Arsene Wenger admitted fatigue has played a part in the playmaker’s performances – bearing in mind Spain face a long-haul flight home from Panama after this evening’s late kick-off, the Gunners boss has a potential headache prior to Saturday lunchtime’s north London derby:

“Cazorla played 17 games since the start of the season and 17 games of complete intensity and therefore of course he’s a little bit less fresh at the moment.”

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I just Googled Raheem Sterling and one of the suggested searches was "Raheem Sterling kids"... Rumour has it he's fathered 3 kids to 2 different women! Any truth to this??

There's an element of truth to it, but I don't get why its so fashionable to debate Cazorla, so much more than other players who've produced mid-to-good returns. Take Bale for example: they've both scored 3 and assisted 3. But you never see pages and pages of people harping on about how Bale isn't a fantasy-friendly player. Odd.

Bale will always be lusted over. Everyone loves captaining him because of those big games he has from time to time. But the fact remains that they're both equal on returns this year so far. Despite Bale supposedly being far more attacking.

People use his goals scored against shots taken ratio to put the guy down, He is a class striker who attempts to score goals from everywhere which is why those stats are the way they are, You just have to look at his goalscoring record both at club level and international level to see this. Bearing in mind that in the past couple of seasons he has been playing for a Liverpool team who havent exactly been at their best. Suarez is class.

I am an Arsenal fan & I think that Wilshire is a good player.

However, the fact that this 20 year old, that has played one season, is being hailed as the man that will turn Arsenal's season around, is an absolute disgrace & a sign of the times at Arsenal.

If young Jack turns out to be a great player over the rest of the season, he will join Man City or Barca.

The board will give Wenger 20% of the transfer fee to replace him.

93% he will be rested and will come on as a sub. He played the full 90 away at Saudi Arabia and they have Madrid at home next week. Tevez and Dzeko to start.

      Is Fed to Bego do-able?

If not, Howard to Bego and play Bego every week or get Ruddy in.

fed to bego not possible. I have been thinking Howard to Bego for a while but now he is only .4 cheaper than Howard and you would think than everton might keep more clean sheets over the season that stoke? is it worth the move?
