The Stock Check

The Stock Check – Saturday – Part Two

Anthony Pilkington earns the points for Norwich with a superb headed effort extending his side’s unbeaten run to five. Robin Van Persie fails to score or assist for the first time as a starter for United, with the Canaries resilient defence proving too good for the most prolific attack in the Premier League:

Going Up

Norwich Defence
The Canaries came into this evening’s game having conceded a single goal in their previous four Gameweeks but the visit of United was considered a real test of their resolve. A 1-0 win continued their upturn in resilience as Chris Hughton’s influence starts to have a real effect – they now have five clean sheets this term, three more than this evening’s beaten opponents.

Anthony Pilkington
His first goal of the campaign was enough to produce the points for the hosts. Norwich have not tasted defeat since a 4-1 battering at Chelsea in Gameweek 7 and while they may not score many – netting more than once on a single occasion so far – Hughton’s side concede even less; the opposite of last season’s form under former boss Paul Lambert.

Going Down

United Defence
David De Gea was given the day off after a trip to the dentist caused problems but Anders Lindegaard could do little about Pilkington’s excellent headed winner. United have now conceded first in eight of their 12 matches and for once, their attack was unable to bail them out.

United Attack
Tonsillitis kept Wayne Rooney out of the reckoning and with Javier Hernandez selected to start, Robin Van Persie dropped a little deeper. Having racked up 29 goals in the previous 10, with at least two goals per game over that run, the visitors were snuffed out for the first time since Gameweek 1. Three favourable fixtures in the next four look set to offer Van Persie a chance to rectify tonight’s blip – this was the first time he has failed to produce a goal or assist when starting a league game for United.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Guys some help needed
I have the EXACT money to do Fellaini --> Silva, or HBA-->Silva and bank 0.3
Other mids are Hazard,Bale,And sterling, and forwards are RvP,Fletcher, and Berba...
    So should it be
    A)Get rid of Fellaini
    B)Get rid of HBA
C)Get rid of none, Play sterling vs Swansea and pray Silva doesnt rise?

My gut reaction was to say just do the first one, but they both make sense. I only just got rid of Guthrie myself and it feels great to have a 5th mid!

Only concern is Puncheon nailed on? Is he up against Lallana and Ramirez? I seriously don't know as I haven't kept an eye on Shampton.

Does anyone simply have no idea what to do with their transfers? I have 2 and I'm thinking of doing two defensive transfers to free up funds. But I have no idea what plan to have. And I'm so anxious about not having City coverage but it's clear that Chelsea away won't be essential unless something mad happened. I'm dreading Silva getting a triple rise. I have no idea how to get him without getting rid of Mata/Cazorla or Fellaini and downgrade a defender.

Which players in ur MF/DEF/ATT are essential?
Then look at the other players who are a bit highly priced and sell.. And Bring in silva instead of 🙂
Forexample, if Mata isnt a great option in your opinion do Mata--> oscar and then Fellaini-->Silva...
Or if you wanna get rid of BA for kone and use the funds to get Silva 🙂

    Bego Jussi
    Baines McAuley Mertesacker Cuellar Demel
    Mata Fellaini Michu Maloney Noble
    RVP Tevez Berba
    £2.0 in bank, 1FT

    A) leave as is

Ba was 10(4) while BenArfa was 7(2).
I have got both, but finding very hard to transfer them out due to those shots at goal.
NewCastle had 32 shots with 9 on goal.
Surely the law of average Shouts that Ba and BA would get points soon.
Or am I just hanging to a bad trade ?

I have both of these too. Reckon it will be best to keep both looking at the fixture list.

HBA is a good player but I have to transfer him out and hope it won't backfire.

Not having RvP next week is really scaring me. QPR are so bad at the moment. God help me.

Aguero will give you the added assurance of being nailed and less of a rotation risk to Ballotelli and Dzeko.

he is also on pens and should of had 3 goals but have one pen to Tevez to take. He will always be the greater threat.

But As fellaini is playing 'in the hole' He is also a great threat. Obviously Silva will win this battle hands down, but the goal he scored was a fluke. he is a great assist asset and has that goal threat but fellaini for his price and playing position tips this for me.

Cuellar vs Clyne is a no contest. Cuellar Great fixtures, and DGW coming up. Clyne is bench fodder and the best you would hope for is 1 point from him usually

I got him for 7. and hes gone for me. 7 Gws with easy fixtures to prove him self. he did SFA. Plus upcoming fixtures are TERRIBLE.

I just used my spare coin to bring in Jose Enrique for Clyne. Now have backline of:

        Baines, Enrique, Cuellar, Cameron, Demel

Quite happy with that for now.

Very nice side. Some benching headaches coming your way, though. Lot to be said for that though, usually means good depth and options.
